"Thus, you will ignore the pressure exerted by all creatures, greatly reducing the negative effects of Mind Power on you."

"And in turn, you will exert a certain dominating influence on creatures whose Bloodline or strength is lesser than yours, increasing their desire to submit to you."

"Talent?" Reading the information in his mind, Fang Ze couldn't help but recall the introduction he'd received when he first obtained the Late-Night Investigation Room.

At that ti, the Late-Night Investigation Room had ntioned that investigating creatures could yield talents.

Back then, Fang Ze thought talents were sothing similar to abilities. But now, reflecting on the fact that it took nearly four months to obtain a single talent... it seed that talents were even more precious than abilities?

Why was that?

Could it be because talents wouldn't be prohibited by Law Prohibition? Or because they were passive effects that wouldn't be detected?

While guessing, Fang Ze picked up the orb of light and pressed it against his forehead.

The orb of light, slowly spreading upon contact with his forehead, eventually vanished into Fang Ze's head.

As the orb entered his body, Fang Ze felt nothing. He conjured up a mirror to take a look; the reflection showed Fang Ze still handso, his smile as graceful as jade, showing no sign of any difference from before.

"A fake?" Fang Ze discarded the mirror with a bit of hesitation. He then gave a couple of instructions to Little Grass, who had been staying in the Late-Night Investigation Room, and sat down slowly drifting off to sleep in his chair.

What he didn't see was that while chatting with Little Grass, the creature was cute and cuddly, but when he turned his back to sit down, Little Grass trembled slightly and looked at him with awe...

...

A quiet night passed.

The next day, Fang Ze got up and checked the ti, then after getting ready, he grabbed so docunts and, with his keycard, headed to the Security Bureau.

Perhaps it was an illusion, but without Bai Zhi following, the ti the female director spent with Fang Ze seed to decrease significantly, and her attitude seed much warr.

Although her face was still cold, a hint of kindness could be seen in her eyes.

After reading the report written by Fang Ze, the female director nodded slightly and comnted, "Thinking of visiting various Council mbers as an alternate Council mber to get close to your target shows you've grasped why I handed this case to you."

Saying this, she looked up, her azure eyes fixating on Fang Ze, and asked in a clear voice, "However, you didn't write in your plan how to investigate these Council mbers with suspicions. Is it because it involves your secrets?"

Fang Ze smiled and nodded, "Yes."

The female director pondered for a mont, changing the angle of her inquiry, "Will your secrets draw the target's attention? For instance, is there noticeable physical contact, objectives to be achieved, or certain thods to be employed?"

Fang Ze shook his head, "No need."

The director nodded, then asked, "How confident are you?"

After a mont of thought, Fang Ze replied, "About 80 percent."

The director made an affirming noise, and stated, "Then go ahead and do it. I'm waiting for your good news."

Fang Ze saluted with a standard gesture, "Yes, Director."

After saluting, seeing that the female director had no further instructions, Fang Ze turned and walked out of the office. Just as he was about to reach the door, the director suddenly called out to him, "Fang Ze."

Fang Ze turned his head in confusion.

The director's azure eyes t his as she said, "Stay safe. If you notice anything wrong, retreat first. Even at the risk of exposing the target, prioritize your own safety."

Hearing the director's words, Fang Ze couldn't help but nod with a smile!

However, after leaving the Security Bureau and returning to his own room, the smile slowly faded from Fang Ze's face, leaving it expressionless.

Strange. Too strange.

If the previous length of the etings with the female director was just Fang Ze overthinking, then the attitude of the director towards Fang Ze in the office, not rushing him out with the buzzer, and the final words of caution, all confird Fang Ze's premonition from the previous day: The director really didn't have a friendly attitude towards Bai Zhi.

But wasn't she part of the Bai Family? Why was her attitude towards Bai Zhi so poor?

Was she supporting another branch within the Bai Family? Or had Bai Zhi's actions over the years dissatisfied her?

Or perhaps, did she have other identities or stances?

Due to the lack of information, Fang Ze couldn't analyze it for the ti being.

However, he felt that as he and Bai Zhi worked at the State Security Bureau, all of this might soon beco clear.

With that thought, Fang Ze put the issue aside for the mont, left his room, woke up Bai Zhi, and prepared to proceed with his plan of contacting the Council mbers one by one.

Fang Ze's plan was actually very straightforward. The mont the task appeared before him the previous day, he already had a rough outline for a plan.

That was: To visit the suspected Council mbers openly and honorably, in his capacity as an alternate Council mber and descendant of the Si Family, using the "Black Panther" ability for the first round of screening.

Although the "Black Panther" ability only predicted good or bad fortune, the ons related to Dahei Garo were quite special: there was a silver lining within the ominous signs.

Previously, Fang Ze had used this thod to root out spies hidden within the Governing Hall, verifying that this approach was feasible. Now, it could also be applied to the suspected Council mbers.

After eting the suspected Council mbers, Fang Ze could then choose to interrogate those with issues through late-night sessions.

As long as he uncovered any traces of evidence, he could take them into custody directly! That would constitute a breakthrough in the case! The rest would be like following vines to get to the lons, capturing the other treacherous Council mbers one by one!
