And because the Bound Spirit could only attach itself to a limited number of tis, it would take four to five hours of recovery to replenish the number of attachnts and attach again, hence, it could not fire a second shot.
That got Fang Ze thinking.
If he left an extra attachnt chance for the Bound Spirit, allowing it to seamlessly attach to the handgun twice, would that not then make it possible to fire two consecutive shots?
In the future, when facing soone with many defensive artifacts like himself, wouldn't that be akin to having an ace in the hole? Not limited to a single strike anymore.
Thus, Fang Ze reserved one attachnt chance for the Bound Spirit.
After devouring the host's soul, apart from an increase in attachnt power and number of tis, the most significant change in the Bound Spirit was that it now had a body, and it was almost an immortal one at that.
Due to years of fusion and adaptation, after devouring the host's soul, the Bound Spirit had successfully taken "possession" of the host's body, completely rging with it.
But because of the Bound Spirit's uniqueness, as long as her body wasn't thoroughly destroyed, she could slowly heal her injuries over ti.
Moreover, even though her body was warm, she didn't require breathing, eating, or drinking.
A true humanoid weapon!
After understanding the changes to the Bound Spirit following the consumption of the host, Fang Ze finally realized why that mastermind behind the scenes was willing to sacrifice such a beautifully explosive body and instead opted to cultivate a Disaster Creature.
It was just too tempting...
Thinking of the mastermind, Fang Ze's mood inevitably darkened quite a bit.
Experience new tales on empire
Although the leotard-wearing woman was rely a minion, Fang Ze had nonetheless gleaned a lot of useful information from her inner voice.
Even though Fang Ze was still unclear on who the true mastermind behind the assassination was, at least he now knew the leather-clad woman's superior: a Deputy Director of the Investigation Bureau from Erald City...
And the identity of the leather-clad woman was even more intriguing.
A mber of the Federal Defense Team.
Later, for so strange reason, she was recalled to Erald City and then actively recruited by that Deputy Director.
Although the woman believed it all to be coincidence, frankly, Fang Ze thought there might be more to the story.
A mber of the Defense Team suddenly being recalled? Then just so happens to be discovered and recruited by the Deputy Director?
Isn't that a bit too coincidental?
Fang Ze speculated that the power behind the woman probably wielded imnse influence within the Federal Defense Team.
They would select suitable talents within the team, then purposely find so pretext to dismiss them.
Afterwards, influential figures from the cities where these individuals were posted would recruit them and put them to their own use.
The advantage of this thod was to leverage the vast official resources of the Federation quickly to filter for talent.
Plus, since these talents have been subjected to official scrutiny and training, they are well-established and retain certain disciplines, saving a lot of the resources and ti that would otherwise be needed for training.
The downside, though, unless there is a huge umbrella of protection or the operation is done with extra caution, otherwise... it's too easy to get caught.
The woman was recalled six or seven years ago, and up to this point, that power is still active in Erald City.
From this, it can be seen that nobody has caught onto them.
So is it the forr, or the latter?
Fang Ze's face remained expressionless...
After a mont, he gathered his emotions and, having planned how to deal with that Deputy Director of the Investigation Bureau, once again buried the Bound Spirit in the pit, deciding to activate her when she was needed in the future.
Anyway, because of Fang Ze's Nurturing Spirit Ritual, a sort of connection had already been established between the two, so it would be quite convenient for Fang Ze to call upon her when desired.
Later, Fang Ze mounted One Two Three, letting it carry him as he headed towards the city...
As a central hub of the surrounding area, the high-end Erald City was very open with no curfews or anything of that sort.
Therefore, Fang Ze returned to the city without any hindrance.
But entering the downtown area, he could no longer rely on One Two Three for transportation and had to take a cab to his apartnt.
The night in Erald City was beautiful, perhaps nearing the Flower Festival; many flowers had begun to slowly bud, and with the lights put up by the Governing Hall, the night view was particularly stunning.
Thus, resting against the car window, Fang Ze gazed out at the scenery in a trance, and before long, he arrived at his apartnt building.
Watching the taxi pull to a stop, Fang Ze snapped back to reality, rummaged in his pocket, pulled out a Lini banknote, and handed it to the driver.
The driver turned on the light, searched for a mont, and then took out so change to return to Fang Ze.
After getting out of the taxi, climbing up the stairs, and arriving at his apartnt door, Fang Ze took out his keys, ready to unlock it.
But he hadn't yet inserted the key when he suddenly stopped.
Because sothing felt off.
He had clearly turned off the lights when he left the apartnt.
But now, why could he see a light through the crack of the door?
Could it be... that in addition to that leather-clad woman, soone else had co to assassinate him?
With that thought, Fang Ze involuntarily paused.
He hid by the door and then summoned i, instructing her to sneak into the apartnt and have a look.
As a Shadow Warrior, i could travel through shadows, and what was most plentiful at night were shadows.
So, she simply found a suitable shadow on the ground, then dived into it, entering the apartnt.
Clutching his dagger, Fang Ze positioned himself ready to rush in at any mont to confront the enemy if a fight broke out inside.
As he was thinking this, suddenly, the apartnt door was gently opened from inside, and i's little head peeked out.
Her big eyes looked at Fang Ze, then she softly called, "Master."
Seeing i act this way, Fang Ze hesitated for a mont, unsure of what she ant.
But, because of his trust in her, Fang Ze eventually stepped forward.
Approaching the doorway, with i stepping aside, Fang Ze could finally see the situation inside...
Bai Zhi was elegantly reclining on the sofa, her head lowered, asleep...
Then, i carefully pointed towards the inner room.
Following the direction of her finger, Fang Ze looked over and saw Little Bai Ling lying on his bed, sprawled out and sound asleep...
