Chapter 3
The Apostle Attacks.
The room returned to silence, and Sylvia simply leaned back in the chair and closed her eyes.
After a long period of using extraordinary powers, her spirituality was nearly depleted, and she needed ti to recover.
As an outsider who did not belong to this world, her soul left no projection upon the spiritual sky, nor did it receive nourishnt from it.
Outer God?
She quietly recited the word in her heart, but soon shook her head.
She was not just an Outer God, but also a traveler from another land.
In her holand, her experience was often referred to as "transmigration."
However, her transmigration was rather absurd. Not only did she occupy the "divine shell" that Silquaya the Faceless cast down onto the earth, but she also attached herself to a female-bodied puppet.
When she awoke from the endless darkness and saw her appearance, she almost cursed aloud.
But ultimately, she had to live; she did not want to die.
Thus, she began to understand her current state and discovered that she seed to have rged with the incarnation of so greater being.
No, not an incarnation.
It was Silquaya’s true body!
This Outer God was quite mad, directly severing His own body and consciousness to throw into this world!
But it made sense. This greater existence, known as the Faceless One, existed as a collective of multiple consciousnesses, so being a little mad was normal.
After all, in the term of her holand, His current state could be described as a severe case of multiple personality disorder, fragnted into countless pieces.
Then ca the question: how had she managed to swallow one of Silquaya’s personalities and replace it?
At that ti, she had been just an ordinary person, while the other party was a genuine "God," even if it was just a minor aspect.
She pondered for a whole week but could not figure it out, so she simply gave up thinking about it.
As for her current situation, it was far from ideal.
The power left behind by Silquaya, the Outer God, was extrely potent, already reaching the demigod level.
That was to say, equivalent to the level of an Apostle in this world.
However, as an outsider, she could not receive any substantial external replenishnt. The depletion of her spirituality had to be recovered entirely on her own.
Thus, she was currently in a state of "charging for two hours, talking for five minutes."
But this was not without solutions.
In fact, she could establish contact with the "true body" beyond the heavens to obtain supplies.
However, she dared not.
She feared that her "true body" would notice her anomaly and casually erase her.
The only reason she had not been discovered yet was because the act of breaking through the world’s barriers had temporarily severed her connection with the true body.
Therefore, she had already made up her mind that, until she gained enough power to protect herself, she would not make any substantial contact with the true body.
As for how to gain that protective power, she already had a preliminary idea—
Faith.
By using the power of faith, she would steadily strengthen herself until she reached the point where she could rival the true body.
Although, according to the mories from Silquaya embedded in her mind, there were drawbacks to relying on faith.
But for her, these were not problems at all.
After growing strong enough, she would attempt to devour her "true body."
The power of faith would only serve as a transitional asure and would not affect her end goal.
Moreover, the challenges she faced now were not limited to power alone; she also suffered from gaps in language and culture.
Her understanding of this world was still far too limited.
After breaking free from a state of confinent, she had captured a street thug, imprisoned him for a week, and through various extraordinary ans, managed to learn the language of this country and gain a rough understanding of its culture.
But that was still far from enough.
At present, she had not even fully mastered Koinsp, the common language used across the western nations, including the Kingdom of Savia, resulting in her speaking with an extrely strange accent.
Letting out a soft sigh, the girl refocused on recovering her spirituality.
Ti flew by, and Sylvia’s spirituality slowly regenerated.
Six hours later, soone knocked on the door.
"Co in."
Having already sensed the visitor’s presence through her spirituality a minute earlier, Sylvia adjusted her sitting posture and responded just as the knock echoed.
The door opened, and Bishop Loruze entered:
"Your Grace, the knights directly under the Tribunal of St. Ruls Cathedral have already converted into worshiping Our Lord."
"According to your instructions, I did not allow them to et you directly but had them resu their duties."
As he spoke, he subconsciously touched his right hand.
There, a dark pattern faintly shimred.
"All of them?"
"All of them."
Sylvia slowly nodded, watching his small movents with interest:
"How is it, the power of greed?"
It was the power she had granted him.
As the Faceless One, she had inherited the authority originating from Silquaya — the endless change.
For this authority, Sylvia had even given it a more vivid new na — the Power of Conception.
Mimicry, construction — as long as she could imagine it, all sorts of strange abilities could be manifested through this authority.
Of course, there were still limitations.
As a demigod, though she could unleash her imagination, the abilities she constructed had an upper limit, and the process of turning fantasy into reality still required a certain amount of ti.
However, this was not an exertion. After a week of dedicated envisioning, she had built and solidified an intriguing system of extraordinary abilities, naming it after the Seven Deadly Sins from her holand.
The "Greed" she had bestowed upon Loruze granted him the miraculous ability to manipulate desire.
"Absolute perfection."
"Praise be to the great Silquaya the Faceless."
Loruze’s expression was sowhat excited.
"Mm, anything else?"
Sylvia nodded in satisfaction and casually asked.
Loruze pondered for a mont before speaking:
"There is, Your Grace."
"The Cathedral just sent a telegram, informing us that an important figure from the Cathedral will be inspecting Savia."
"And it seems their target is you."
"Mm."
"No need to be afraid, they won’t discover anything."
Sylvia nodded indifferently.
A puppet already confird to have been polluted by an evil god and missing for a week would inevitably attract the attention of the higher-ups.
In her view, the arrival of an envoy at this mont was not surprising; she even felt that it was a bit late for them to send soone.
Besides, she was not afraid of these so-called "important figures."
After all, no matter what kind of extraordinary power they wielded, mortals remained mortals, fundantally different from a demigod.
Unless an apostle of the Lord of Radiance personally descended here, no one would be able to detect any abnormalities.
However, at that mont, Loruze’s voice continued:
"But Your Grace, according to the Cathedral’s instructions, there might be a Church angel accompanying them this ti."
"Mm!?"
Upon hearing this, Sylvia suddenly sat upright.
According to the church scriptures she had casually browsed earlier, she learned that each church had different titles for their own demigods.
And "angel" was another na for the apostles who carried out the will of Radiance.
At this mont, the puppet girl could not help but feel the urge to curse.
Was it not exactly the case that what she feared the most was what ca?
