On the Day I Was Kicked Out of the Wealthy Family, I Had a Flash Marriage with a Tycoon Chapter 130: Sister and Brother
"But I don’t ask about every little detail every day. They only report to if sothing is unusual. I’m the one who asked today. I’m not monitoring your every move."
Jasper Lockwood added.
"Mm." Chloe Sterling believed him and didn’t ask any more questions.
After they finished their al, they returned to The Lockwood Residence.
「One week later.」
That morning, Chloe Sterling was on her way to The dical College when Chase Langdon suddenly called.
"Chloe, where are you? Is this a good ti?"
Chloe Sterling held the steering wheel, replying as she made a left turn, "I’m on my way to The dical College. What’s wrong?"
"Co to the Crimson Wing Dojo. I need your help with sothing."
"Got it. I’m on my way."
Chloe Sterling imdiately changed direction and headed for the Crimson Wing Dojo.
As soon as she walked in, she saw a boy of about fourteen or fifteen, talking to Chase Langdon with red-rimd eyes.
Seeing her, Chase Langdon said imdiately, "Chloe, you’re here."
Chloe Sterling looked at the two of them, puzzled. "What is it? What happened?"
Chase Langdon said, "This is one of our students at the Crimson Wing Dojo. His sister was in a car accident yesterday..."
The boy looked at Chloe Sterling and said, "Mr. Langdon, is this the lady you were talking about? The really amazing Pharmacist?"
Chase Langdon said, "Yes. Why don’t you tell her about your sister’s condition?"
The boy imdiately turned to Chloe Sterling. "Ma’am, can you help ? No, can you help my sister?"
Chloe Sterling asked, "What happened to your sister?"
"My sister is a pianist. She’s an amazing pianist, and she was even competing in a national competition recently. But yesterday, she was in a car accident. The doctor said the bones in her hand are broken, and she might never be able to play the piano again.
But piano and music are her dream. She can’t lose her dream. Ma’am, Mr. Langdon said you’re incredible. Can you please help my sister? Can you make her hand recover?"
Chloe Sterling asked, "Where is your sister? How serious are her injuries?"
The boy lowered his voice. "She’s in the hospital. Her leg, head, and hand are all injured, but her hand is the worst. Ma’am, can you do sothing? Is there any chance she’ll get better?"
"I can’t be sure without examining her injuries."
"Then... can you co to the hospital with and take a look?"
After a mont’s thought, Chloe Sterling said, "Yes."
"Then let’s go now," the boy said, his voice filled with urgency.
"Okay."
Chase Langdon said, "I’ll go with you."
The three of them then headed to the hospital together.
In the hospital room, a girl lay on the bed. Her head, left hand, and left leg were all wrapped in bandages. Her injuries looked severe. She stared blankly at the ceiling, her eyes vacant as tears stread from their corners.
The boy pushed open the door to the room and called out softly, "Sis."
Hearing his voice, the girl quickly wiped away her tears and looked at him. "Asher, where did you run off to? Why... Why did you bring Mr. Langdon here?"
Chase Langdon said, "Hello, Miss White."
"Hello, Mr. Langdon." After a pause, Claire White looked at Chloe Sterling and asked, "And this is...?"
Asher White imdiately said, "Sis, this is Mr. Langdon’s friend, Miss Sterling. She’s a really great Pharmacist and a doctor. I asked her to co take a look at your hand."
"A Pharmacist?" Claire White looked at the girl, who seed to be about her own age, her expression filled with doubt.
"Yeah," Asher White said, rushing to the bedside. "Sis, I’m sure your hand will be okay."
Claire White tried to hold back, but tears still welled up uncontrollably in her eyes.
The finals were the day after tomorrow, but she’d been in a car accident and injured her most precious asset—her hand. The doctor had essentially handed her a death sentence, telling her she would never play the piano again.
For her, the news was a bolt from the blue.
"Miss Sterling, could you please take a look at my sister?" the boy asked, turning to Chloe Sterling.
Chloe Sterling stepped forward and glanced at Claire White’s bandaged hand. "Miss White," she said softly, "I need to feel the bones to assess their condition. It might hurt a little, so please try to bear with it."
Although Claire White was skeptical, she clung to a sliver of hope and nodded. "It’s okay. Go ahead."
’When she had taken Asher to the Crimson Wing Dojo before, she had t Chase Langdon a few tis. He seed like a decent person. Maybe the person he recomnded really could do sothing.’
Chloe Sterling gently lifted Claire White’s hand. Just as she was about to touch it, a nurse burst in. Seeing the movent, the nurse imdiately snapped, "What are you doing? The patient’s hand is fractured! You can’t move it!"
Asher White quickly explained, "This lady is a doctor, too. She’s examining my sister’s hand."
The nurse’s eyes landed on Chloe Sterling’s young, beautiful face. She frowned, walking over to intervene. "What doctor? A doctor from where?"
Knowing Chloe Sterling worked at The dical College, Asher White added, "She’s from the First dical College."
"The dical College?" The nurse sized up Chloe Sterling, her tone accusatory. "What’s your major? Have you even graduated? Do you have any clinical experience? How can soone so young be so reckless?"
Knowing it was pointless to argue, Chloe Sterling ignored her.
Seeing her silence, the nurse assud Chloe had realized her mistake. She didn’t press the issue, but gently placed Claire White’s hand back down. "Don’t touch it again," she warned. "If the set bones are displaced, her hand could beco permanently deford."
At these words, the color drained from Claire White’s face. She was clearly terrified.
’Not only would I be unable to play the piano, but my hand would be deford? I’d be disabled.’
Chase Langdon quickly stepped in. "Alright, we won’t touch it again. You can rest assured, miss. I’ll watch them."
At six-foot-one, with his handso face, Chase Langdon’s charm was a potent weapon. The mont he spoke, the nurse blushed slightly and her voice softened. "I know you’re worried about the patient, but you really can’t move her hand."
Chase Langdon offered a small smile. "Okay, we understand."
The nurse said, "I have to get back to my work. Call if you need anything."
Chase Langdon: "Alright. Thank you for your hard work. Take care."
Only then did the nurse leave, and Chase Langdon imdiately shut the door.
Chloe Sterling shot him a sidelong glance. ’That nurse is definitely coming back soon.’
Chase Langdon said, "What are you looking at for? Get to it."
Chloe Sterling looked away from him and back to Claire White. "Don’t worry," she said reassuringly. "You’ll be fine."
Claire White nodded, her eyes full of anxiety.
Seeing her distress, Chloe Sterling didn’t lift the hand this ti. Instead, she reached over, gently pressing a few spots. In monts, she understood the full extent of the injury.
Claire White endured the pain, her expression anxious. Then she heard Chloe Sterling say, "Miss White, you don’t need to worry anymore. You will be able to play the piano again. There will be no lasting effects."
Claire White stared at her, astonished and disbelieving. "R-Really?"
"Yes. But a serious injury like this needs ti to heal—about three months of proper rest. Once the splint and bandages are off, I’ll prepare an ointnt for you. Apply it for a month, and you’ll be good as new."
A glimr of light finally returned to Claire White’s tear-swollen eyes. She was willing to try, willing to believe. "Okay. Thank you, Miss Sterling."
A smile finally broke across Asher White’s face. "Miss Sterling, is it true? My sister can really make a full recovery!"
Chloe Sterling replied with absolute certainty, "Yes. It might even be more flexible than before."
