Chapter 75: Chapter 75 Li Yu Li Yu

Inside the large private room at Zuixian Building.

To the left of Leng Yu Yan sat Ye Yiheng, and to the right sat Lai Jiajia, with Li Yuyue facing them, and Jian Lecheng sitting on the other side of Ye Yiheng.

They ordered dishes, and soon, the food and drinks were served.

Lai Jiajia, with her little mouth, didn’t stop eating or talking, “Sister, Brother Lai, my mother keeps talking about you these days. She wants you to co over when you have ti so she can cook for us.”

Leng Yu Yan smiled and said, “Is it because you made your aunt angry?”

“It’s not that, it’s my younger brother. Recently, he’s been uninterested in his studies. He wants to learn martial arts and go to the battlefield to avenge Brother.”

At those words, Leng Yu Yan’s hand paused as she held her chopsticks.

Seeing this, Li Yuyue hurriedly said, “Let your brother follow for a few days to train. By then, he’ll understand which path is more suitable for him, scholarship or martial arts.”

Lai Jiajia joyfully said, “That would be great!”

Leng Yu Yan nodded in agreent, then quickly looked down to hide the ripples in her eyes.

She felt too ashad, as she had been busy with the academy matters and had not continued investigating her brother’s issues.

Ye Yiheng noticed her change in emotion but hadn’t gotten around to thinking about it further.

The door to the private room was pushed open…

“Li Yu, I need to talk to you.”

Hearing the voice, Leng Yu Yan looked up and imdiately saw Li Yu standing at the door.

Almost at the sa ti, the other people in the room also turned toward the door.

Ji Qingyu stood rooted to the spot. Besides Li Yu, there was another girl in the room, but no matter who this other girl was, the other three n he recognized.

Ye Yiheng, the Crown Prince, Heir of the Duke Mansion, Jian Lecheng, and Heir of Prince Zhenbei, Li Yuyue.

Wasn’t each of their statuses extraordinary?

Suddenly, a most unlikely possibility flashed through Ji Qingyu’s mind, and an inexplicable unease quickly surged in his heart.

Wanting no more to think, he strode forward and grabbed Leng Yu Yan by the hand without explanation, “I need to talk to you!”

Leng Yu Yan’s hand stiffened in his grip, “Li Yu, why don’t you sit down, let introduce everyone?”

“No need for introductions, co with !” Ji Qingyu snatched the chopsticks from Leng Yu Yan’s hand and placed them on the table.

Seeing Ye Yiheng’s face as cold as frost, Jian Lecheng spoke up, “Commandery Prince Qing, is everything well with you?”

“Commandery Prince Qing?” Leng Yu Yan murmured the three words and looked up at the man holding her.

“Yes, I am. I’ll explain later.” Ji Qingyu tightened his grip on Leng Yu Yan’s hand and pulled her out of the seat.

At that mont, Ye Yiheng fiercely grasped Ji Qingyu’s arm, “Do you know whom you’re taking?”

“She’s my woman, and it has nothing to do with you, Ye Yiheng!” During his words, he slapped the hand on his arm away and swiftly wrapped his arm around Leng Yu Yan’s waist, leaping out of the window.

Li Yuyue was completely confused. One mont it was Li Yu, the next Li Yu. Who could tell him what exactly was happening?

The man who had just arrived was clearly Ji Qingyu from Marquis Jiangyang Mansion, who had just been made a Commandery Prince a few days ago, that little tyrant.

Even Lai Jiajia forgot to chew the food in her mouth, reacting suddenly, “Brother Lai, quick, save my sister!”

“Alright, don’t worry, don’t worry,” Li Yuyue stood up, walking to the private room door, and whispered a few commands to a trusted aide waiting outside.

The trusted aides imdiately bowed and went to carry out their orders.

Ye Yiheng’s expression was as dark as the bottom of a pot. If it weren’t for his need to pretend to be blind and sickly in front of others, he would have chased after them himself.

“Mo Chen, send soone to search for the Crown Princess Consort!”

“Yes!” A voice replied from outside the private room, and soon after, a figure flashed and disappeared into the night.

Jian Lecheng spoke uneasily, “Your Highness, how does Lai Wu know him?”

Ji Qingyu had brazenly claid that Lai Wu was his woman!

Ye Yiheng had always enjoyed all things beautiful since childhood, including people. Everything and everyone in the Eastern Palace was exceptionally attractive. Ji Qingyu, his cousin, was not only close in age but also shared Ye Yiheng’s appreciation for beautiful things and people.

Jian Lecheng simply couldn’t understand how a prodigal young tyrant could take a fancy to an ugly and incompetent girl.

“You ask , whom should I ask?” Ye Yiheng slamd the table and ordered coldly, “Return to the Eastern Palace!”

Leng Yu Yan, embraced around the waist by Ji Qingyu, leaped across rooftops with a few fluid motions and swiftly left the bustling market.

In mid-air, her face veil fluttered, and her sleeves billowed.

The coolness of the spring night made her shrink back slightly.

“Where are you taking ?”

“To a place where we can talk properly.”

Ji Qingyu turned his head to the side and, under the moonlight, spotted the startling blotches beneath her drifting veil!

Fate was playing gas…

He should have thought of this earlier!

Or rather, he should have investigated her identity earlier!

After a while, he landed smoothly with her, and they imdiately separated.

Looking around at the desolate surroundings resembling a dilapidated temple, Leng Yu Yan turned to face him: “What is it that you wish to discuss with , Prince Qing?”

Those who could address the Crown Prince by his given na in the capital all knew it was the young tyrant, Ji Qingyu.

“Li Yu, Ji Qingyu, those are indeed good pseudonyms,” Leng Yu Yan said with a smile.

Ji Qingyu frowned as he looked at her: “Li Yu, Leng Yu Yan, your pseudonym is also not bad.”

“I am not familiar with this area; please take back.”

“Do you really intend to marry him?”

Leng Yu Yan smiled again, removed her face veil, and pointed to the blotches on it. “If I truly intended to marry him, I wouldn’t put this on my face.”

Ji Qingyu’s mind was a ss. How many tis had he ntioned the Leng family’s ugly girl, mocked Ye Yiheng, and even fabricated stories about their wedding night?

Now, the biggest joke was himself!

Hearing her words, Ji Qingyu’s expression grew grave: “Marry !”

At his words, Leng Yu Yan was utterly astounded.

Ji Qingyu continued: “I will marry you!”

Each word was deliberate, clear, and sounded earnest.

With the bright moon overhead, his heart soared, fearing her outright rejection.

Leng Yu Yan shook her head: “Is there so feud between you and him?”

“Do you want to hear it?”

“Yes.”

“Alright,” Ji Qingyu agreed, found a pile of dry branches around, and lit a fire.

Then he moved two stones, brushed off the dust on them: “Sit down, and listen to my story slowly.”

Leng Yu Yan gently sat down: “Go ahead, I’ll be a good listener.”

Ji Qingyu took a deep breath and began slowly: “He and I are of the sa age; his mother and my mother were like sisters, and since we are cousins, we have always been inseparable since childhood.”

“As we grew older, our elders wanted to arrange our marriages early.”

“The Princess Consort had a niece who often ca to play in the palace, and gradually, as I spent more ti with her, she grew fond of .”

“The Empress, seeing that we got along well, intended to grant us marriage. My mother also thought the Princess Consort’s niece was a good match and quietly agreed.”

“Until one day, a palace maid brought a plate of pastries. The Crown Prince said he didn’t like them and gave them to her.”

“She ate them joyfully, but before she had finished, blood stread from all her orifices and she died imdiately.”

“The Crown Prince’s food is always tested for poison before he eats, but that day, it was not!”

“Had the Crown Prince not given the pastries to her, or had soone tested them for poison, she would not have left .”
