Chapter 455: Chapter 455: Always Bullying

The Emperor had this idea and it was quite reasonable, after all, there were too many people who tried to imitate his handwriting.

Princes with sches would always nurture certain individuals skilled in mimicking others’ handwriting, like Ye Gaoyun who had used such a person to imitate Ye Jiu’s writing.

During dinner, the palace maid beside Ye Jiu reported, “Princely Heir, the Princess feels unwell; she had her dinner in her room and will not co to the dining hall.”

Li Yuyue gave a hum of acknowledgent and ordered the servants to take the als to the guesthouse.

“Is the Princess alright?” Leng Yu Yan asked.

The palace maid leaned closer to Leng Yu Yan’s ear, “Replying to the Commandery Princess, the Princess has her monthly period.”

“Okay, make sure she keeps warm,” Leng Yu Yan replied softly.

The palace maid nodded and then left.

Li Yuyue gestured for Ye Yiheng to take a seat and poured him a drink.

Leng Yu Yan took the rice served by a maid and casually asked Ye Yiheng, “Your Highness, when Ye Gaoyun was plotting his rebellion, do you know who wrote that fake imperial decree to depose the Crown Prince?”

Ye Yiheng answered, “The imperial decree was real; it was indeed written by the old man himself.”

Hearing this, Leng Yu Yan was quite shocked.

Li Yuyue nodded, “On the day we stord into the Imperial Palace with Your Highness, Ye Gaoyun had said that the decree to depose the Crown Prince was written by the Emperor; it simply hadn’t been issued yet, and Ye Gaoyun took it to proclaim.”

Ye Yiheng also said indifferently, “The old man had always planned to depose the Crown Prince after I married; that’s why he prepared it well in advance.”

Leng Yu Yan then asked, “Have you ever seen that decree?”

“I have,” Ye Yiheng nodded.

Leng Yu Yan took a bite of her food and appeared to casually bring up, “We’ve received several imperial edicts, but it seems the handwriting on top was not done by the sa person.”

Ye Yiheng snorted softly, “The old man is quite lazy. When drafting imperial edicts, if it isn’t written by a substitute eunuch, it is composed by the Ministry of Personnel. Only the edicts he deems important will he write himself.”

Leng Yu Yan continued, “Then how are you so certain the decree to depose the Crown Prince was written by the Emperor? What if it were forged by Ye Gaoyun?”

Li Yuyue took a sip of his wine, “Yan’er seems to have a particularly large number of questions today.”

Leng Yu Yan pulled at the corner of her mouth, “Just asking, we can talk while eating.”

Ye Yiheng replied, “That imperial decree to depose the Crown Prince was admitted by the old man as written by his own hand. Moreover, in recent years, he has been perfecting a style of writing, so all the edicts he writes personally are in this new style. Many princes and high officials are aware of this.”

“Oh, I see,” Leng Yu Yan nodded and continued eating.

At that mont, she sowhat indirectly understood that the Emperor was indeed imitating her handwriting, and he had used her script to write important docunts.

Ye Yiheng raised an eyebrow, “Yanyan has quite an accomplishnts in calligraphy, do you have any thoughts?”

“No, no, how could I have any thoughts?” Leng Yu Yan served him more food, “I just rembered the different handwriting in the previous imperial edicts, it was just a casual question.”

“Really?” Ye Yiheng’s lips curved slightly, “Is that truly so?”

Leng Yu Yan nodded vigorously, “Otherwise why?”

It was Ye Yiheng’s turn to ask her, “What does the Mountain Master of the academy want with you?”

“The Mountain Master saw my return to the capital and wished for to return to the academy. He doesn’t get along with the Imperial College Sacrificial Officer, so he wants to poach from the Imperial College.”

Ye Yiheng said solemnly, “You need not attend either the academy or the Imperial College anymore.”

Leng Yu Yan’s brows slightly furrowed, “Why?”

Ye Yiheng glanced at her, “We are about to marry.”

“But I still want to take the Imperial Examination,” she said, looking at Li Yuyue, “Brother, has anyone from Prince Zhenbei Mansion ever taken the Imperial Examination?”

Although Li Yuyue had studied at the Imperial College for three years, he had never considered taking the Imperial Examination.

The Prince Zhenbei Mansion had always been a military family, and its descendants had indeed never participated.

At this mont, when Leng Yu Yan asked this, he admitted frankly, “Indeed they have not.”

“Then let set a precedent!” Leng Yu Yan smiled slightly. “Father King and the others will arrive in the capital in about two months. The Imperial Examination is about to begin, and I would like to participate.”

“You wish to enter officialdom?” Ye Yiheng frowned, “There has never been a precedent for won to enter officialdom since the founding of Tiancheng.”

Leng Yu Yan said seriously, “Whether I enter official service or not, I care not. I rely wish to prove that whatever a man can do, a woman can do as well!”

Upon saying this, Ye Yiheng and Li Yuyue both fell into a unanimous silence.

After a long while, Li Yuyue downed a gulp of wine, and with a thud placed his cup down heavy, “They say that every martial artist that cos out of the Prince Zhenbei Mansion is exceptional, Yan’er, your big brother supports you!”

Leng Yu Yan gave a playful smile, “Thank you, big brother, you’re the best!”

“Am I not good?” Ye Yiheng let his gaze drop and his eyes narrow.

This little woman was too exceptional, her beauty was so rare and unparalleled, that whether she was studying at the Imperial College or participating in the Imperial Examination, he was on tenterhooks.

He truly wanted to hide her away, to admire her alone, and possess her to his heart’s content.

Yet, he knew deep down that her talent shouldn’t be buried, no matter if it was a man or a woman, those with talent should let their own light and heat shine!

Light!

Yes, she was like a beam of light carrying warmth!

In this world, no one could warm his heart.

Until her arrival.

Her appearance made his blind, void world burst into a riot of colors.

Her presence made his icy, callous heart start to beat differently.

It was as if—

His life was infused with a ray of light, like the dawn breaking after an endlessly long night.

He, Ye Yiheng, and she, Leng Yu Yan.

Night and Leng, destined to be together.

It was fate.

It was the only intention of the heavens he could grasp while being blind.

Therefore no matter what, he must bind her body and heart tightly!

Leng Yu Yan was eating her al, and only after swallowing did she speak, “Your Highness is sotis good, sotis bad, not like my big brother who is always good.”

Li Yuyue laughed heartily, “My own dear sister, after all, is flesh and blood!”

“Where am I not good?” Ye Yiheng felt a chill in his heart; how could he possibly not asure up to Li Yuyue?

Leng Yu Yan caught a glimpse of soone’s increasingly gloomy complexion and smiled mischievously, “I’m telling the truth, Your Highness. Where you’re not good, do I really have to spell it out?”

“Always bullying ,” she muttered very softly.

Li Yuyue was still laughing, not hearing her mutter.

Ye Yiheng, with his astonishing hearing, heard it distinctly. With such an explanation, he felt relieved.

If he didn’t bully her, then whom could he bully?

After the al, Leng Yu Yan pulled Ye Yiheng and hurriedly left the dining hall.

The two of them chose to walk down the small paths of the garden.

Suddenly, Leng Yu Yan saw soone walking swiftly under the covered walkway, and upon a closer look, it was her big brother.

Taking another glance, her big brother’s steps were clearly headed towards the guest quarters.

“Your Highness, do you think big brother is fond of Ah Ju?”

Following her gaze, Ye Yiheng broke it down in a single comnt, “He said he was going back to his room after having dinner in the dining hall. As soon as we left, he took a detour. If it weren’t for affection, why would he behave like this?”

Leng Yu Yan covered her lips and laughed, “Big brother doesn’t know that we’re walking down the path, right in view of him.”

Suddenly, Ye Yiheng wrapped his arms around her slender waist, “You said earlier I was no good, where am I not good?”

“Pretending to ask knowingly!” she pushed against his firm chest with her hands.

“The moon as my witness, in this life, I will only bully you,” Ye Yiheng said earnestly, his gaze burning intensely into her eyes.

Bathed in the dim light seeping from the lanterns along the path, Leng Yu Yan couldn’t see clearly how she appeared in his eyes, only feeling that the man before her was like a male demon stealthily stealing a young girl’s heart in the dark of night.
