Chapter 350: Chapter 350 Unbearable to Hear

At that mont, aboard the ship.

Leng Yu Yan was sitting on a small stool, while Ye Yiheng sat cross-legged on the bed with his eyes closed, consciously channeling his Inner Strength toward his left hand.

“The poison has reached this point,” Leng Yu Yan whispered softly. “I’m going to insert the needle, aim your fingertips at the basin.”

“Okay,” Ye Yiheng responded without opening his eyes.

Leng Yu Yan heated the silver needle in the candle fla, then pricked his index, middle, and ring fingertips with it.

A slight sting spread, and Ye Yiheng continued to drive his Inner Strength. Soon, blood tainted with a bit of poison flowed from his fingertips.

Leng Yu Yan examined it by candlelight; the blood in the water turned a peculiar dark purple, indicating the severity of the poison in his body.

Had it been anyone else, they likely would have been long dead.

Yet, there he was, very much alive in front of her.

An hour later, Leng Yu Yan called a halt: “That’s enough for today.”

Ye Yiheng, gently wiping his fingertips with a handkerchief, asked, “Why not remove a bit more?”

“One step at a ti,” she replied, staring intently at him. “How do you feel now?”

Ye Yiheng stood up, moved his arms, and lifted his legs, after a long while stating, “It feels like my body is sowhat lighter.”

“Really?” Leng Yu Yan asked joyfully.

“Mm, although it’s not very obvious, my body doesn’t feel as cold as before,” he admitted openly.

Before long, both of them got into their beds.

The beds were only three feet apart, with each able to see the other just by turning to the side.

Having spent several days together, their relationship seed to have grown increasingly nuanced.

At that mont, neither spoke. In the deep, silent night, one could easily hear the sound of waves slapping against the ship’s hull.

However, Leng Yu Yan, who usually fell asleep easily, felt dizzy as soon as she lay down.

Suddenly recalling the news she had heard before boarding the ship, she turned to her side and couldn’t help but ask, “Which carriage was it?”

Ye Yiheng knew she was asking whether it was Mo Chen’s or Liu Yun’s carriage, but now was not the ti to discuss this matter, so he whispered softly, “Be careful, the walls have ears.”

Leng Yu Yan caught on and shut her mouth tightly.

Suddenly, from next door, an ambiguous moan of a woman was heard.

The sound was barely bearable, Leng Yu Yan embarrassingly looked toward Ye Yiheng.

And he was also looking her way.

The sound continued, wave upon wave, bringing them to the peak of awkwardness.

Feeling seasick, Leng Yu Yan’s stomach started to churn. Hurt by that noise, she had no choice but to cover her ears with her hands.

Ye Yiheng saw her discomfort but didn’t know how to console.

The walls of this cabin were rely planks, requiring them to speak softly to avoid being overheard.

But the noise penetrated everywhere, seemingly wanting everyone on the ship to hear it, and went wild.

Soon soone went to knock on the door where the sounds were coming from, and exclaid angrily, “Can’t you let people sleep? So shaless, go play your tricks at ho!”

The noise abruptly stopped.

Others clapped and cheered, “Well scolded!”

So even comnted, “People like them should sleep down in the civilian cabin!”

Imdiately, others agreed.

At that mont, Jiang Yu ca over and asked, “Did the sound co from this room?”

Soone replied, “Yes, right here; I was listening with my ear pressed against it.”

Jiang Yu felt a jolt in her heart, rembering her encounter with the bearded man earlier, right in this sa spot. Could it be that the bearded man was in the room with that seductress…

Thinking this, Jiang Yu felt a rush of anger and angrily banged on the door: “Open up, open the door quickly!”

A sharp female voice ca from the room, “What is it, what is it?”

“Open the door, or believe , I will throw you out!”

“Who are you to tell to open the door just because you say so?” the woman inside scoffed.

Jiang Yu, annoyed, stated, “I am the mistress of this ship, are you opening it or not? If not, I’m going to ram the door!”

As she spoke, she gestured for two shipn to co forward and ram the door.

Due to the wooden structure and the boards connected to each other, the ramming caused all the rooms in the row to make a muffled sound, drawing more people out to curse.

The woman inside then opened the door, adjusting her disheveled clothes, “What do you want?”

When Jiang Yu saw that the woman who opened the door was not the beautiful fox and the man inside was not the bearded man, she sighed in relief.

On second thought, realizing this room was probably next to the bearded man’s room, she warned, “You better behave yourself. When you’re away from ho, don’t bring disgrace upon yourself daily!”

The woman sneered, “I’m sleeping with my man, what’s it to you?”

“Oh, I see, Miss Jiang can’t get married, feeling itchy?” the woman said while reaching for Jiang Yu’s chin, “Let guess, you don’t even know what a man tastes like, do you?”

Jiang Yu turned her head away, her anger flaring up, “Throw her off the ship into the river to soak for a while, to cleanse her foul mouth!”

Two shipn following Jiang Yu imdiately stepped forward, grabbed the woman from both sides, and headed straight to the deck.

The man inside seed very cowardly, only hugging the quilt, not daring to stand up for his woman.

Seeing this, Jiang Yu burst into laughter, her anger dissipating after hearing a splash.

Before long, the woman, shivering, was brought back and thrown into the room.

Jiang Yu leaned over, sneering with a giggle, “Only you would fancy such a spineless man.”

The man she fancied was tall and handso; how could the worthless man inside compare?

With a final remark, Jiang Yu left gracefully.

The cabin quieted down, but soon, the sound of the woman crying and beating the man could be heard.

This kind of sound was at least preferable to the unbearable noises heard before; no one else ca out to curse.

At this mont in the capital city.

Leng Song returned to Marquis Jiangyang Mansion to report.

He told Ji Qingyu everything Ye Zhenxian had said in the horse carriage.

Ji Qingyu, upon hearing this, was so angry that the veins on his hands beca prominent.

He planned to torture Ye Zhenxian slowly, as that would satiate his hatred.

The next morning, the n Leng Song had dispatched returned to report.

One of them said, “Prince Xian was tortured quite severely.”

Another one said, “Those people treated him like a young servant, tornting him ruthlessly.”

Yet another echoed, “Those people also said he was handso.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the n exchanged glances, holding back laughter.

They had watched the entire crazy scene the night before, almost ready to draw it out.

Ji Qingyu scoffed coldly, “What was Ye Zhenxian’s reaction at that ti?”

“At that ti he said he was Prince Xian; when they heard he was a prince, they got even more excited, saying princes live pampered lives with skin smoother than won’s.”

“Soone didn’t believe him, and just beat him up, saying if he was really Prince Xian, then they were all the Emperor.”

Ji Qingyu nodded, “You did well in this matter; there will be a reward! Rest for a while during these days; don’t let anyone catch you.”

The n responded, “Sir, please rest assured!”

After they left, Ji Qingyu instructed Leng Song, “Go and find out if there has been any reaction from the palace.”

Leng Song acknowledged and left the mansion.

Two hours later, he returned frantically to report, “Sir, an incident involving Ye Zhenxian has occurred, and Ye Gaoyun has ordered a thorough investigation in the city to find the culprits behind it.”
