Leng Yu Yan's lips curled into a slight smirk beneath her veil, "You needn't concern yourself with how the Jade Token ca into my possession; you only need to rember that it is in my hands."

"Yes!" Cao Shu bowed respectfully in agreent.

Could this young girl in front of her be a new apprentice recently taken in by her teacher?

That her teacher gave her the Jade Token was a clear sign that her dance skills were exceptional.

Thinking that she only managed to exchange the Jade Token for a single dance, it seed the girl before her was even more favored by the teacher.

With this thought, Cao Shu couldn't help but ask, "What is your relationship with my teacher?"

Leng Yu Yan did not answer her but simply asked lightly, "Tell , can I participate in the assessnt or not?"

"Of course, of course. When can I see our esteed teacher again?"

Back then, she was only able to watch from a distance and never got to see the teacher's face. Now recalling that ti, she regretted it deeply. Probably it was because her own learning was not exquisite enough to catch the teacher's eye.

Our esteed teacher?

Leng Yu Yan choked out a cough, "Ahem, ahem... I am unable to answer that question."

Hearing this, Cao Shu imdiately felt that the girl before her must be her junior sister and thus personally escorted her out of the Dance Society.

Seeing Lady Cao and Leng Yu Yan exit together, the students all began to say, "Lady Cao, she can't possibly be allowed to participate, right?"

"She doesn't have an Iron Token, so she definitely can't!"

Cao Shu cleared her throat and declared loudly, "Leng Yu Yan ets the requirents and can participate in the assessnt!"

At these words, everyone was shocked!

They had worked so hard to earn their Grade Tokens, yet this plain girl had none and was still allowed to participate in the assessnt!

"What?"

"Why?"

"Please, Lady Cao, you owe us an explanation!"

"She has the only Jade Token in the Dance Society," Cao Shu displayed the Jade Token in Leng Yu Yan's hand for everyone to see, "The Jade Token ranks higher than a gold dal!"

Looking at the luminous Jade Token, exquisitely crafted and beautifully patterned, everyone was exchanging glances, speechless with astonishnt.

They clearly saw that the patterns on the Jade Token were consistent with those on their Grade Tokens, and the Jade Token possessed a luster that suggested it was very old, not sothing newly made.

While they had struggled to earn their Grade Tokens, they had heard of the Jade Token, but no one had seen it; they all had thought that the gold dal was the highest rank.

Now suddenly confronted with its existence, they were completely dumbstruck.

After a while, soone quietly raised a suspicion, "She just got here; how could she have a Jade Token?"

Cao Shu naturally wouldn't share her own experience from a year prior when she learned to dance, as that would diminish her prestige in the academy.

"Let's disperse," Cao Shu waved her hand, nodding slightly to Leng Yu Yan before swiftly entering the Dance Society.

Lai Jiajia and her friends were quite delighted, examining Leng Yu Yan's Jade Token over and over.

Miss Xu snidely remarked, "It's not surprising to have a Jade Token when you've got a golden flower postcard through the back door."

The more these people were envious, the happier Lai Jiajia beca.

Nearby, Lai Manting and Li Lu looked displeased at this side and, seeing Leng Yu Yan's gaze turn toward them, they ca over to congratulate her.

"Congratulations, Fifth Sister," Lai Manting said with a smile, "We've never seen a Jade Token before, you're really lucky!"

Her implication was quite clear, prompting those around to echo in agreent, "Yes, it's always been the gold dal that's best."

Leng Yu Yan casually tossed the Jade Token into her wallet, "It's just a trinket."

Then she walked towards the school building.

Such an important Jade Token, and in her eyes, it was rely a trinket!

Everyone was startled.

However, even if she had the Jade Token, she still got into the academy because of the Crown Prince's influence. This Jade Token might have been prepared by the Crown Prince in advance.

While so envied Leng Yu Yan for having a Jade Token, Lai Manting was indifferent.

In her eyes, Leng Yu Yan could hardly recognize a few big characters and was a total klutz in dancing. Even with the Jade Token allowing her to participate in the assessnt, she would only make a fool of herself.

As for Lai Jiajia with her odd-and-ends, holding an Iron Token, she was not worth ntioning.

When the ti ca, if they only served to highlight her own excellence, that would be best!

Just as Lai Manting thought, other students also considered this aspect. Either Leng Yu Yan and Lai Jiajia were not pretty, or their posture was unsatisfactory; there were even so with acne on their faces, and the rest were so lowly that they were beneath notice.

While the students felt jealous and envious, they also had doubts about the origin of Leng Yu Yan's Jade Token.

Even Lai Jiajia curiously asked, "Sister, where did your Jade Token co from?"

"It was a chance find, just a coincidence," Leng Yu Yan said, taking out a handful of candies from her wallet and distributing them to her teammates.

With candy stuffed in her mouth, Lai Jiajia smiled sweetly, "That's excellent, it ans we are destined."

By the ti their group arrived at the classroom, a teacher sent Leng Yu Yan to the outside of the academy to buy the Four Treasures of the Study for the afternoon calligraphy class.

"Sister, I'll go with you," Lai Jiajia said.

Leng Yu Yan shook her head, "No need, you all can practice dancing."

She had noticed a store called Mozhai by the academy's entrance when she disembarked from the horse carriage in the early morning, which specialized in the Four Treasures of the Study.

Once at Mozhai, Leng Yu Yan selected her brushes, ink, paper, and inkstone. As she was paying, a greasy voice ca from behind her.

"What a coincidence, we et again." The person unfurled his folding fan, feigning elegance as he fanned himself.

Without turning her head, Leng Yu Yan knew it was Wei Ruili.

Seeing her silent, Wei Ruili pressed on, "May I ask the young lady's na, and where does your family reside?"

His gaze road over her, admiring how she wore the Xinya Academy uniform so charmingly—it was truly a delightful sight!

Leng Yu Yan paid for her items and, cradling the brushes, ink, paper, and inkstone, turned around and looked down, deliberately avoiding Wei Ruili's gaze as she walked straight out.

Wei Ruili took a step forward, blocking her path.

Her dense and long eyelashes slightly drooping, cast a shadow beneath her eyes, showing no signs of joy or anger, only a sense of indifference.

Such a cold and beautiful woman made his heart flutter, anxious to see the face beneath the veil.

Leng Yu Yan had no intention of entangling with him and stepped sideways to leave.

But Wei Ruili moved with her, stepping in her way and reaching out to remove her veil.

As her finger under the paper curled, ready to do sothing, an attractive hand quickly grasped Wei Ruili's wrist.

Before the veil could be touched, the wrist was clamped, numbing his hand and losing sensation. Wei Ruili turned angrily to the taller young man next to him, "Don't bully..."

Before he could curse, he saw clearly that it was the Heir of Prince Zhenbei. Realizing he could not afford to provoke him, Wei Ruili hurriedly put on a sycophantic smile and apologized, "Your Highness, it was a misunderstanding!"

The man then released him, and Wei Ruili fled Mozhai, rushing back to the Imperial College.

Leng Yu Yan did not recognize the man before her, but since he had helped her out, she bowed slightly, "Thank you."

"No need," the man said, gesturing with a light hand lift.

Just at this mont, a horse carriage stopped outside Mozhai.

Jian Lecheng, lifting the carriage curtain, narrated the scene to Ye Yiheng, "Why has the Heir of Prince Zhenbei interfered with Lai Wu?"

Ye Yiheng shifted his gaze, only to see two vague silhouettes.

His vision had improved today; though still unable to see clearly, he at least had light perception and could make out outlines.

Considering his previous bouts of vision impairnt, although the duration varied, this particular episode lasted longer, which made him think he might soon go completely blind.
