"It’s all your fault! You just had to listen to Sebastian Forrest’s nonsense. Because of you, I had to get that test done. You have no idea—that needle was so long, and they stuck it right into my belly toward the baby. It doesn’t break your heart, but it breaks mine..." Clara Langley was still complaining about the injustice.

Perhaps it was because of the baby, but Theodore Grant’s attitude softened considerably. "Okay, okay, okay, it’s all my fault. Don’t get worked up—think of the baby. Co on, find a place to sit. I’ll go get a number for you."

From the sound of their voices, they were already heading toward the VIP seating area around the corner.

I didn’t dare to look back until their voices had completely faded. Sure enough, they were gone.

"Chelsea, I got our number! Number eight. See? So lucky!" Chloe Miller bead, handing the small ticket as if presenting a priceless treasure.

I quickly pulled her by the wrist to make her sit down. "I just saw Clara Langley and Theodore Grant."

"What?" Chloe was startled and instinctively looked around. "What’s going on? How did they know about this place?"

"They’re probably here for a prenatal checkup too."

Chloe’s face filled with alarm. "Then let’s get out of here..."

I imdiately nodded and got to my feet. "Right."

Once Chloe and I scrambled into the car like a pair of thieves, we couldn’t help but exchange a smile.

"This is ridiculous. It’s like we’re the ones with sothing to hide!" After laughing, Chloe’s face filled with indignation. "Clara Langley is the one carrying a bastard! You’re the one carrying Theodore Grant’s child!"

"Alright, let’s not talk about that. I don’t care anymore." I squeezed her hand. "Besides, this baby is mine. Mine alone."

’Keep the baby, ditch the father.’

’It has absolutely nothing to do with Theodore Grant!’

"You’re absolutely right!" Chloe grinned at , clearly relieved, and started the car. "So, where are we off to? Ho?"

I pondered for a mont. "Let’s go to Kington University Hospital."

’That way, we can avoid Theodore Grant and Clara Langley.’

"Okay, off we go!"

Soon, Chloe and I arrived at Kington University Hospital.

Since I had originally registered at Kington University Hospital, all the doctors here already knew .

After so pleasantries, it was ti for the routine checkup.

After finally getting through a series of tests, I sat nervously on a chair while the doctor reviewed a thick stack of reports.

Ever since Vincent Lombard pushed into a wall, causing to spot, I’d been diligent about resting, terrified sothing else might happen to the baby.

I’m not sure how long I waited, but the doctor finally looked up with a smile. "Everything looks great. All the baby’s levels are very good, perfectly healthy."

I couldn’t help but let out a silent sigh of relief, a wide smile breaking out on my face. "Thank you, Doctor."

The first three months are crucial. The baby is at its most fragile and needs protection, and the slightest mishap could lead to a miscarriage.

The doctor then went over so more precautions. I listened intently, even jotting them down in a notebook, terrified of missing a single important detail.

By the ti we left the hospital, it was almost noon.

"You definitely owe a feast today!" Chloe linked her arm through mine, grinning from ear to ear.

I smiled and nodded. "Okay."

Even if Chloe hadn’t ntioned it, I was already planning to treat her to a nice al to thank her for taking the day off to co with to the appointnt.

However, just as we were leaving, laughing and chatting, we happened to see a familiar figure walking toward us.

He must have heard us talking, because he glanced over his shoulder. Upon recognizing us, his lips curved into a graceful, charming smile. "Miss Joyce, Miss Miller. What a coincidence."

"Dr. Miller."

"Where are you two headed?" Jude Miller asked with a smile.

But before I could say a word, Chloe eagerly jumped in. "Chelsea’s treating, we’re going to get lunch. Dr. Miller, want to join?"

A hint of a smile touched Jude Miller’s eyes. "I wouldn’t be intruding, would I?"

I quickly waved my hand. "No, not at all."

"Then would you mind if I brought a family mber?" Jude Miller asked with an unreadable smile.

’A family mber?’

’Dr. Miller’s girlfriend?’

I froze for a second before nodding. "Of course."

Jude Miller smiled. "Then let’s go."

Since it was a last-minute decision, we chose a Shandong cuisine restaurant near the hospital.

Chloe and I had eaten there before and thought both the atmosphere and the food were pretty good.

After we finished ordering, I looked up at him. "Dr. Miller, where’s your friend?"

"Should be here soon." Jude Miller subconsciously craned his neck to look out the window. When his gaze fixed on a certain spot, the corners of his lips lifted slightly. "He’s here."

Chloe and I both turned toward the entrance in unison, clearly curious about what Jude Miller’s girlfriend looked like.

But when a tall, imposing figure strode toward our table, the smiles on our faces froze. Chloe and I exchanged a look of pure shock.

’I suddenly rembered Chloe joking that Sebastian Forrest might be into n...’

’This... This...’

"What’s wrong? So surprised to see ?" Sebastian Forrest walked closer, reached out to ruffle the top of my hair, and then pulled out the chair next to and sat down.

Chloe’s eyes darted back and forth between Sebastian Forrest and Jude Miller, and she imdiately said with a mischievous grin, "No, just surprised that the ’family mber’ Dr. Miller ntioned turned out to be you, Master Forrest."

"Family mber?" Sebastian Forrest frowned slightly.

Jude Miller imdiately held up his hands in surrender. "Hey, I was just kidding."

Without a mont’s hesitation, Sebastian Forrest grabbed a pair of chopsticks from the table and tossed them at Jude Miller, hitting him right on the head.

Jude took the hit without complaint, simply grabbing a new pair of chopsticks and handing them to Sebastian. "Let’s eat, let’s eat."

Soon, all the dishes were served.

Perhaps it was because of the exhausting morning of prenatal checkups, plus the fact that the results had completely put my mind at ease, but this al was particularly enjoyable.

After we had eaten our fill, Sebastian Forrest offered to take ho, while Chloe said she would take Dr. Miller back to the hospital. And so, the four of us went our separate ways.

On the way ho, perhaps because I was too full, I felt a little drowsy.

But the embarrassing mory of sleeping so soundly that I was carried ho without even knowing kept from daring to doze off. I forced myself to stare out the window, hoping the view would keep awake.

"The venue for Theodore Grant and Clara Langley’s engagent party has been decided."

My brain took a second to catch up when I heard his deep, magnetic voice. As his words finally registered, I quickly turned to look at him.

"Want to go see the show in person?" Sebastian Forrest’s lips curved up slightly.

I quickly nodded, but then hesitated midway through. "Can I go?"

’I highly doubted Clara Langley and Theodore Grant would invite to their engagent party.’

Sebastian Forrest looked at with a smile. "If I say you can, you can."

I couldn’t help but smile before giving him a firm nod. "Okay."

「And so, another day passed.」

The effective date of my divorce was getting closer and closer.

I thought the next ti I saw Clara Langley would be on the day of the engagent party, but I didn’t expect to run into her at the company the very next day.

Just as I was coming out of the recording studio, I saw her walking towards , shoulder to shoulder with the manager.

I couldn’t help but frown slightly. Just as I was thinking of turning around to avoid them, Clara Langley suddenly called out to .

"Chelsea Joyce."

I pretended not to hear and pulled open the stairwell door, planning to go around her.

But just as I was about to go down the stairs, my wrist was suddenly seized. "I’m calling you. What are you running for? Didn’t you hear ?"

I hadn’t expected Clara Langley to follow here. My face instantly turned cold as I tried to pull my hand back. "Let go!"

But Clara Langley’s grip was too tight; her nails were practically digging into my flesh.

"Are you deaf? I said let go!" I winced in pain and, with a grim expression, tried to wrench my hand away.

But at that mont, Clara Langley suddenly pushed and then let go!

Caught off guard by her sudden push, my eyes flew wide as I lost my balance and tumbled backward down the stairs...
