On Our Wedding Day My Husband Announced His First Love Online Chapter 25: A Severance of Brotherhood
Theodore Grant’s pupils constricted, his expression terrifyingly dark.
’See? He’s speechless,’ a sense of helplessness washed over .
He knew perfectly well that he was the one responsible for my mother’s death!
But for the past few days, he’s been desperately playing dumb!
He even had the gall to turn the tables and bla !
’How utterly disappointing!’
"Chelsea, you go inside first. I’m going to have a good talk with Theodore."
Just then, Sebastian Forrest, who had been silent the whole ti, suddenly spoke up.
I took a deep breath. I knew Sebastian was trying to help .
Going head-to-head with Theodore like this would never make him compromise.
No matter what, I still needed Sebastian’s help.
I just hoped he could persuade Theodore.
But even so, I was a little worried I might cause trouble for Sebastian.
After all, he and Theodore were childhood friends, practically brothers. If they had a falling out because of , I would feel terribly guilty.
But my hesitation at that mont seed to be misinterpreted by Sebastian.
He smiled, gave a wink, and the hand on my shoulder tightened slightly. "Don’t be afraid. He can’t win a fight against ."
"..." ’That’s not what I ant at all!’
However, I was genuinely worried the two of them might actually co to blows.
"Go on back," Sebastian’s voice softened.
There was nothing I could do. Seeing Sebastian’s determination, I had no choice but to go back inside.
But just before I went through the door, I subconsciously glanced back.
In the long hallway, Sebastian and Theodore stood facing each other by the elevator, like two bows drawn to their absolute limit. The aura they gave off was terrifying, and the tense atmosphere was so suffocating it was hard to breathe.
’I wonder what they’ll say to each other.’
I pressed my lips together and finally closed the door.
But after I got inside, I still felt uneasy. Afraid they would start fighting, I pressed my ear to the door, trying to hear what they were saying.
But because they were so distance away, the voices weren’t very clear.
Still, I could make out a few sentences.
"Sebastian Forrest! Are you insane? Do you not know who she is? She’s Chelsea Joyce, my wife!" Theodore suddenly roared. I had no idea what Sebastian had said to make him so furious.
"Who is she? Why don’t you tell ..." Sebastian sneered. "On your wedding day, when you abandoned her at the venue and made her the laughingstock of all Kington while you ran off to be with your ex-girlfriend, did you ever stop to think about who she is?"
"When her mother was literally angered to death by you and Clara Langley, and she was kneeling alone, crying in the morial hall, did you think about who she was then?"
"Tell , what is she to you? A disposable decoration you can be hot or cold with? A pet you can summon and dismiss at will? Theodore Grant! You have the fucking audacity to co here now and ask who she is?!"
"Shut your mouth!"
From the sound of Theodore’s voice, he was clearly livid. "Sebastian Forrest, I’m telling you, whatever is going on between her and is our business as a married couple! It has nothing to do with you!"
"That day at the hospital, I warned you. I told you if you dared to walk away, you’d better not regret it later! Theodore, I gave you a chance. You’re the one who didn’t take it."
"Sebastian Forrest! You’re my brother! Are you really going to side with Chelsea Joyce? And go against ?"
"That’s right!" Sebastian said coldly. "I can’t stand watching you bully a woman."
Just as I was listening intently, a sudden knock on the door made jump, and I nearly fell backward in shock.
"Open up..." a soft, lilting laugh sounded from outside the door.
"Ah? Oh..." I hurriedly opened the door.
"Sebastian Forrest, from this day forward, I’m cutting all ties with you! You’re no longer my brother!" Theodore roared from a short distance away.
With a SLAM, Sebastian shut the door, cutting off Theodore’s bellowing.
Inside the apartnt, I swallowed nervously. My heart was still pounding, and my mind was reeling from the scene that had just unfolded.
In contrast, Sebastian looked perfectly calm and composed.
’They’re cutting ties?’
’Sebastian actually cut ties with Theodore just to help ?!’
A wave of warmth washed over my heart.
Ever since I decided to divorce Theodore, everyone had tried to talk out of it. Besides Chloe Miller, not a single person had been on my side.
But I never imagined Sebastian would go this far for ...
’He really is a good person.’
’Maybe it’s really like he said, he just can’t stand watching Theodore bully ...’
But—
"So, where’s that tea?"
Just as my mind was racing, Sebastian smiled nonchalantly, glanced around the room, and then plopped down on the sofa. He looked up at with a grin. "Weren’t you going to make so tea?"
"Just a mont, I’ll go get it right away."
After a bit of flustered scrambling, I finally managed to brew the tea.
It wasn’t anything special, just ordinary jasmine tea.
I’d picked it up on a whim a few days ago when I saw it on sale at the supermarket downstairs.
But to my surprise, Sebastian didn’t seem to mind. He nodded with a smile. "Not bad. Good tea."
"..."
I had no idea what was so good about such cheap tea, so I could only force a laugh. "As long as you like it, Senior Forrest."
"As for Theodore, you don’t need to worry..."
Sebastian took a sip of tea and looked up at . "Since I said I’d help you, I won’t go back on my word."
Hearing that, I secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
That was my biggest worry.
After the scene Sebastian caused tonight, Theodore definitely wouldn’t let things go.
Then again, he never intended to agree to a divorce settlent in the first place, which ant the only path left was to file a lawsuit.
"I’ll also speak with Lawyer Kerr. We’ll proceed directly with filing the lawsuit." As if he could read my mind, Sebastian chuckled and continued, "Don’t worry. I’ll see this little play of ours through to the end with you, until you get exactly what you want."
"Thank you, Senior Forrest." I was filled with gratitude.
After tonight’s chaos, if Theodore wanted to ss with again, he’d have to think twice about Sebastian Forrest’s influence!
However—
"But what about you and Theodore...?"
Sebastian waved his hand dismissively. "I’ve been sick of him for a long ti now. Getting led around by the nose by a woman... For a brain-dead son of a bitch like that, cutting ties is no big deal. I couldn’t care less."
I knew he was talking about how Clara Langley was deceiving Theodore.
It’s true what they say: it’s easy to see things clearly from the outside. Sebastian could see right through it, but Theodore was completely blind to it.
However, hearing him ntion Clara Langley made suddenly recall the image of her at the hospital today, furtively going for a check-up at the obstetrics and gynecology departnt...
I pursed my lips, hesitating, wanting to speak but holding back.
"What is it? What do you want to say?"
Since Sebastian asked directly, I didn’t hide it any longer and told him the truth. "When I was at the hospital today, I saw Clara Langley all bundled up, secretly registering for an appointnt in the obstetrics and gynecology departnt..."
I trailed off, not saying anything more.
"Obstetrics and gynecology?" Sebastian, on the other hand, raised an eyebrow slightly. "Clara Langley is pregnant?"
I quickly shook my head. "I’m not sure."
Sebastian, however, seed to have his interest piqued. A smile touched his lips. "We can find out easily enough."
