"What’s wrong?"

When Sebastian Forrest saw that I hadn’t spoken for a while, he couldn’t help but wave his hand in front of my face. "Co on, snap out of it."

I shot him an exasperated look. "Let’s go."

Sebastian Forrest helped into the car, and just as we were pulling out of the hospital parking lot, his phone rang.

"Hello, Captain Tate..."

Hearing the familiar title, I instinctively turned to look at Sebastian Forrest.

Since it was on speakerphone, the voice ca through clearly. "Master Forrest, I just had my n check. Theodore Grant did indeed make an ergency call today, and it was before you did..."

"Alright, I understand. Thanks, Captain Tate."

After the call ended, Sebastian Forrest glanced over at . I couldn’t help but give him an amused look.

"I still don’t believe it, anyway." Sebastian Forrest’s handso face was sullen; he was clearly unhappy.

His expression made laugh. "Alright, alright, alright. In that case, I don’t believe it either."

...

Soon, Sebastian Forrest had dropped off at the apartnt I was staying at.

The mont I opened the door, I saw my aunt bustling about, moving things around. The sofa had been pushed to a corner, and my uncle was standing on a stool, hamring nails into the ceiling to hang curtains...

I felt a massive headache coming on.

"Chelsea, you’re finally back! How are you? Are you alright?" My aunt rushed over, putting down what she was holding. She looked over as she spoke. "You have no idea, we were scared to death when we heard you’d gotten into trouble. Thank goodness you’re okay."

"Where’s Sasha?" I couldn’t help but glance around.

"She’s in the bedroom, tidying up her room!" my aunt said, pointing toward the master bedroom.

I had a bad feeling.

Sure enough, when I pushed the door open, I saw Sasha had already moved her and my aunt’s belongings into the master bedroom. It was a blatant move to claim the best room before I returned.

"Uh, Chelsea, this bedroom is bigger, so it’s perfect for and Sasha. Since you’re by yourself, why don’t you take the smaller bedroom, okay?"

I instinctively glanced at the other bedroom and saw my aunt had already piled all of my things inside. This was a classic case of acting first and asking for permission later...

Just as I was stewing in my frustration, Sebastian Forrest, who had been silent behind , suddenly spoke. "By the way, I had a friend find a job for Sasha today. It’s a clerical position at the Railway Planning Bureau. You should go check it out when you have ti. If it looks good, she can go through with the hiring process."

"The Railway Bureau!" My aunt was ecstatic upon hearing the news.

It was a state-owned enterprise—a secure job for life!

"That’s wonderful! I’ll have Sasha go take a look tomorrow."

"However..." Sebastian Forrest’s tone shifted. "It’s a bit far from here. It’s in Southgate, about twenty or thirty miles away..."

"Huh? That far?" My aunt’s brows furrowed. "That’s... that’s just too inconvenient..."

"The company has dorms, though. If you and your husband want to go with her, I can have my friend arrange a place for you two as well."

"Really? That would be wonderful!" My aunt was so happy she couldn’t stop grinning.

Early the next morning, my aunt, uncle, and Sasha headed out the door.

By that afternoon, the family was happily arranging for a vehicle to move their luggage. I knew then that I owed Sebastian Forrest yet another favor...

Oh well. What was one more favor at this point?

...

The injury to my ankle wasn’t too serious. After all, I hadn’t broken any bones. After resting at ho for two days, I was able to walk again, but I was still afraid to put too much weight on it, so I could only limp.

So, when I arrived at the office, my colleagues saw my state and gathered around, asking with concern.

"It’s nothing. I just sprained it, but I didn’t break anything. It’s already much better."

"I saw Hayes’s ssage in the group chat. We’re heading into the recording studio today, right?"

"Oh, don’t worry, Hayes already rearranged the script. Your voiceover work can be postponed."

I smiled. "No need. I hurt my ankle, not my mouth. I can do it."

That made everyone laugh.

"Alright, everyone, don’t worry about . Let’s get to work."

As everyone scattered and returned to their desks, I noticed Julian Hayes standing not far away, his lips pressed into a thin line.

"Hayes..."

"You’re injured. Why are you forcing yourself to co in?"

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "I’m really okay now..."

"Are you sure you can handle it?"

"I can."

The recording session went smoothly.

Thanks to Julian Hayes’s coordination, a voiceover job that should have taken half a month was completed in just ten days, and it passed the client’s inspection with flying colors.

Since this was the company’s first project, and it had gone so well, a celebration was definitely in order.

However, since it was Sebastian Forrest’s company, I had to let him know.

"You’ve all worked so hard; you definitely deserve a reward. A single dinner probably isn’t enough." Sebastian Forrest sat in his executive chair, hands clasped on the desk, a slight smile on his lips. "I’ll have the finance departnt approve a bonus for everyone."

My face lit up when I heard there would be a bonus.

The smile on Sebastian Forrest’s face deepened. "That happy?"

I nodded, smiling. "Of course I am."

’Who wouldn’t be happy about getting a bonus?’

"Have you picked a place for the dinner party?"

"Not yet..."

Sebastian Forrest pulled open a drawer, fished out a card, and handed it to . "This place is great. Take this mbership card; you won’t need a reservation. Just have them put it on my tab."

I took it without thinking—a black card.

The legendary VIC mbership.

I had only ever heard about them; this was the first ti I’d actually seen one.

It was supposedly an SVIP, a tier even higher than VIP, for those with an average annual spending of over ten million...

I was secretly dumbfounded. ’Spending tens of millions a year just at one restaurant... The world of the rich is just insane.’

"Then I won’t be shy." I grinned, tucking the card into my pocket as if afraid I might lose it.

...

「That night.」

The dinner party was held at a five-star hotel.

It was the most expensive place in Kington, with dazzling lights and opulent decor.

Countless transparent wine glasses hung high from the lobby ceiling, refracting the light from the crystal chandeliers into a dazzling array of colors.

Since there were more than twenty of us from the company, I had booked an extra-large private room that could easily hold several dozen people.

It was fully equipped with all kinds of entertainnt facilities. While we waited for the food to arrive, many of my colleagues had already scattered to enjoy themselves, having the ti of their lives.

Seeing that Sebastian Forrest still hadn’t arrived, I stepped out of the room to give him a call.

But just as I dialed his number, before it even connected, I heard soone call my na from behind. "Chelsea?"

I instinctively turned and saw a tall man standing not far away, his face a mixture of surprise and delight.

Theodore Grant?

’What’s he doing here?’
