As the Divine Son’s figure dissipated, Chen Yin frowned slightly.

…That wasn’t even his true body?

He was that cautious? Chen Yin had hoped to eliminate this annoying pest once and for all.

But according to Ye Huang, Shen Li’s numbers were small. Even if the Divine Son was just an avatar, these Divine ssengers were real.

“This should be enough to cripple them for a while.” A satisfied smile appeared on Chen Yin’s face.

The Divine ssengers exchanged glances and huddled together.

“Hmph, Chen Yin! Don’t get cocky!”

One of them shouted, “You dare barge in here alone and challenge us? You underestimate Shen Li!”

“Since you’re courting death, don’t bla us for being ruthless!”

He silently activated his System and charged towards Chen Yin, his body enveloped in a sinister black aura.

He was confident. Even if this Chen Yin was Yu Ling’s disciple, he wasn’t a Chosen One.

And anyone who wasn’t a Chosen One would be severely injured, if not killed, by his System’s sudden attack.

But as the faint, invisible ripples of his System’s power spread outwards, a finger lightly touched his forehead.

Instantly, countless tiny, sharp sword energies surged through his body, shattering his ridians. He scread in agony, as if his very soul was being torn apart.

“Aaaaagh!!!”

In the blink of an eye, he collapsed to the ground, his eyes bloodshot, his body convulsing in pain.

The other three Divine ssengers froze in terror.

Chen Yin looked at him impassively, his heart devoid of pity.

“What’s your na?”

“Ugh…” The man couldn’t speak, his body wracked with pain.

Chen Yin kicked off his mask, revealing a thin, gaunt face, his eyes filled with disbelief.

“Impossible… why doesn’t the System affect you…?”

“Want to know?” Chen Yin suddenly squatted down, a mischievous grin on his face. “If you answer my questions, I’ll tell you.”

“Tell , where is your Divine Son’s true body?”

The man still didn’t speak, his eyes bulging from the pain.

Tsk. Chen Yin frowned. These guys were tougher than he had expected.

The other three Divine ssengers, terrified, turned to flee.

But the Eternal Light sword flashed, and before they could even take a step, they felt their lower bodies disappear.

“Not so fast.”

Chen Yin’s gaze was cold and calm. “It’s alright if you don’t want to talk.”

“I have plenty of ti.”

…He didn’t enjoy torturing people for information.

But while waiting in the shadows at the Kunpeng Sect, he had seen the small, emaciated girl Qingying was carrying.

She was only eight or nine years old, an age of innocence and playfulness.

But she was nothing more than skin and bones, her eyes dull and lifeless.

He felt that these people deserved to die ten tis over.

He walked over to the three n, their lower bodies still gushing blood, and tossed them aside like ragdolls.

“Don’t worry. I’ll take my ti with you.” Chen Yin said softly.

He removed their masks one by one. There was an old man, a young woman, a fat man, and a thin man.

But he didn’t care. He looked at them with the sa cold indifference, as if they were nothing more than dead dogs.

“You… you’ll… regret this…”

The fat man, his eyes filled with hatred, spat out through a mouthful of blood.

“You have no idea how powerful Shen Li is!”

“You’ll die a horrible death!”

“Thank you for your kind wishes.” Chen Yin’s gaze was cold and distant. “I don’t know what will happen when I die…”

“…But you definitely won’t be around to see it.” He lowered his eyes slowly.

The fat man’s eyes bulged in terror, his voice caught in his throat.

Chen Yin frowned slightly.

He felt an invisible force crush their hearts.

It wasn’t an external force, but sothing emanating from within them.

…The System? He tried to investigate, but they were already dead.

Did the System have a self-destruct function?

A surge of energy emanated from the scroll in his chest, and four small orbs flew into it.

Chen Yin entered the scroll’s space. Four more pebble-like fragnts had appeared beneath the statue.

Like the one he had obtained from Yao Zhuang, these fragnts weren’t complete Systems, but rather inferior, simplified versions. Their plot records only contained the words “Serve the Divine Son.”

He couldn’t find any other useful information, so he withdrew his consciousness from the scroll’s space and looked at the four bodies on the ground, shaking his head regretfully.

What a waste.

These people were incredibly cautious, choosing death over revealing any information.

He hadn’t been able to get what he wanted from them.

But four Chosen Ones…

Including Yao Zhuang, he had already killed five mbers of Shen Li.

Chosen Ones weren’t common, so Shen Li’s numbers couldn’t be that large.

Five deaths would definitely hurt the Divine Son.

“This must be what he ant by ‘a minor setback’.” Chen Yin chuckled softly.

But his smile hid a chilling coldness.

…This isn’t over.

Next ti, let’s see if you’re still so lucky.

In a small town in Kunlun Province…

Nan Xiaoxiang sat in an inn room, her slender fingers resting on Ye Ling’er’s wrist.

“…It’s no use.”

After a long while, she shook her head slowly. “Her body is weak, but there are no other abnormalities. Her heart and lungs are just incredibly frail.”

“But I can’t find the cause of her addiction or those intense hallucinations.”

“It seems this Life Returning Herb poison has directly affected her mind and spirit. Mortal dicine is ineffective. Fortunately, Young Master Chen’s pills can clear her mind and suppress the symptoms for a while.”

Ye Huang breathed a sigh of relief, but his eyes were still filled with worry.

Luo Luo and Qingying stood beside them, unsure how to comfort him. They remained silent.

The door opened, and Chen Yin entered. “How is she?”

“Her life is not in danger, but the poison is difficult to cure.”

Nan Xiaoxiang turned to him and shook her head. “This child has been ravaged by the poison. Her body is like that of a dying person. We can only focus on stabilizing her condition for now.”

“Thank you for your efforts.” Chen Yin looked at the girl on the bed, his heart aching with a silent sympathy.

Although her eyes were sunken, and her face was gaunt, he could still see the traces of a once lively and adorable little girl.

Now, she was on the verge of death, her body ravaged by poison.

Ye Huang asked softly, “How did it go?”

“I didn’t catch the Divine Son. I just destroyed one of their bases and killed four of his ssengers.”

Chen Yin said with a hint of regret, “I’m sorry.”

“You’ve already done so much for , Brother Chen. I don’t dare ask for more.”

Ye Huang said seriously, “You saved Ling’er’s life. From now on, my life is yours.”

“What good is your life to ?”

Chen Yin shrugged helplessly. “I just did what I thought was right. There’s no need to talk about repaynt. Besides, your daughter isn’t fully recovered yet.”

“I wonder if there’s a way to cure her…”

He fell into deep thought.

Nan Xiaoxiang glanced at him discreetly, a thoughtful expression on her face, then suddenly spoke:

“Young Master Chen, I might have a solution, but I’m not sure if it will work.”

Chen Yin looked up at her, his eyes brightening with hope.

“As a physician, I’ve heard of the Wu Xuan Cave in the Southern Region. They’re renowned for their mastery of dicine and Gu techniques, especially their knowledge of poisons.”

“Since we have no other options, why not try the Wu Xuan Cave?”

Chen Yin looked at her, surprised.

Nan Xiaoxiang’s expression remained calm as she ntioned the Wu Xuan Cave, but he still saw a flicker of sadness in her eyes.

…He had suspected she had so connection to the Wu Xuan Cave.

But Chen Yin didn’t pry. It was her personal matter. Saving Ye Ling’er was more important.

And her suggestion made sense.

The Wu Xuan Cave, located deep within the Ten Thousand Mountains of the Southern Region, was a reclusive yet feared sect known for their expertise in Gu techniques and poisons.

Perhaps they could cure Ye Ling’er.

Ye Huang’s eyes lit up with hope. “Thank you for your guidance, Miss Nan. I’ll go to the Wu Xuan Cave imdiately.”

“Bring Ling’er to my clinic. I’ll take care of her.”

Chen Yin nodded at Nan Xiaoxiang. “Thank you for your help.”

“Just repaying a favor.”

Nan Xiaoxiang lowered her eyes slightly, avoiding his gaze.

“What about Shen Li?” Qingying frowned. “They won’t let you off the hook after you crippled them like this.”

“I’m hoping they co after .”

Chen Yin shrugged. “I’m more worried they’ll beco cowards and hide in the shadows.”

Hidden enemies were the most dangerous. He preferred a direct confrontation.

But he had other plans regarding Shen Li.

“Qingying, Luo Luo, I’m entrusting you with escorting Miss Nan and Ling’er to Yanxia Province.”

Qingying’s face fell, and Luo Luo blinked, her voice soft. “What about you, Young Master?”

“I’m returning to Mount Yu.” He said quietly.

…He had so questions for his Master about Shen Li.

Luo Luo’s eyes dimd slightly.

“Be a good girl, Luo Luo.”

Chen Yin pulled her into his arms and nuzzled her ears and cheeks affectionately. Luo Luo closed her eyes contentedly.

“I won’t be gone long. I’ll co back and bring you more delicious treats.” He said softly.

“Okay!” Luo Luo looked up at him with a bright smile.

“Luo Luo will be good. Don’t worry, Young Master.”

After reassuring Luo Luo, he turned to Qingying and whispered, “Contact if anything happens.”

“So you finally rember ?”

Qingying snorted and turned her head away.

Chen Yin coughed lightly and softened his voice. “I trust you the most.”

It was true. As a forr mber of the secret division, Qingying was the most reliable person he knew.

Qingying couldn’t help but glance at him, a smug look in her eyes.

Then she quickly turned away, not wanting him to notice.
