Chapter 374: Revelations 3 (Ch.374)

"The kind of life I have lived in these eighteen years... the pains I have endured, you cannot begin to imagine..." Neveah whispered, her voice cracking.

"Now, you co to

with a claim that all I have ever known was a fallacy and all I can think of to ask is... why? If this is where I belong, why was I made to know the life I did?"

"What have I even known all these years? What am I exactly? Who am I?" Neveah asked in dismay.

Kaideon could sense the depth of Neveah’s pain with each word she said and though he knew nothing of the life she had before King Jian had brought her here,

Kaideon could see Neveah had not lived an easy life as everyone was led to believe and the thought of it broke his heart.

"I do not have all the answers, Neveah. I... I am tortured to know that I have not done right by you for eighteen years in my ignorance, but I swear I will make ands... if you would let ..." Kaideon vowed.

"I... I do not know what to believe, Kaideon. I do not know what to believe anymore... I just..." Neveah trailed off, pulling her knees up to her chest, she wrapped her arms around her knees and tid her breathing to calm herself.

"Let

begin by telling you all that I do know... please, I am not asking for anything more, neither do I dare to...but allow

give you so answers so I can be at ease that you are not tortured by doubts. " Kaideon pleaded.

Neveah exhaled heavily and nodded, she was not certain how much help Kaideon’s answers would be, but knowing sothing was better than knowing nothing at all.

"When I first t Eira...it was precisely two decades ago..." Kaideon began, a faraway look in his eyes as he recalled the mories.

"Then, I had a rather interesting habit. I would take flight from the castle of the White Dunes, in any random direction and I would just keep flying...on and on, for days and days till my wings caved from exhaustion."

" Now that I think about it, I would like to say it was youthful folly in those tis...but I was already a few centuries old." Kaideon chuckled quietly at the thought of it.

Neveah’s lips twitched slightly, she listened to Kaideon’s words with rapt attention, this was the very first ti anyone would care to tell Neveah about her mother.

The very reason Neveah had endured all she had in the Eclipse Domain was precisely because she held onto the hope that soday, Alpha King Lothaire would tell her about her mother.

Yet after all those devastating years, all Neveah had gotten was a na and nothing more and Neveah had long given up hope that she would ever know anything of the woman who had brought her into this world.

"It was on one of such flights that I t...crashed into your mother, literally." Kaideon revealed.

"She must not have appreciated that." Neveah guessed.

"Oh, she surely did not." Kaideon agreed with a quiet chuckle.

"I was exhausted from a long flight, I had been flying for almost a week with no rest when my wings could take it no more. They gave out on ..."

"It was late in the night, the sky was blanketed by darkness and I was flying at a low altitude over a frozen wasteland... I assud it was a wasteland and so I had no reason to hide myself."

"It was good too for I crashed quite heavily, if I had been flying any higher, I would surely have broken a wing." Kaideon shook his head slightly at his own silliness.

"I was still taking stock of my injuries after shifting into my human form, and it was then that I heard a pained whine."

"It was just my luck that I had knocked a young wolf off her paws and sent her flying through the snow field during my crash and I had not even realized it."

"Her snow white fur was the perfect blend with the snow covered earth, I truly did not even sight her."

"I also did not realize it when she lunged at

till she tackled

to the ground, her jaws poised at my throat, just an inch away from taking my life."

"A battle dragon as I am, it is not everyday I am caught off guard or thrown in a disadvantaged position by a little wolf five tis smaller than my dragon form." Kaideon admitted.

"I recall the first words that ca out of my lips when the initial shock faded..."

"You are breathtakingly beautiful." Kaideon reminisced

"How could I hide my thoughts? Her fur was as white as the first snow, I had never seen a more beautiful creature and she had

pinned down and was quite literally snuffing out my breath." Kaideon murmured.

Neveah laughed quietly, silent tears slipped out her eyes and she did not even bother to wipe them away.

It was exactly how Neveah pictured her mother to be, a great beauty, a strong and excellent wolf.

All these while, Neveah had been led to believe her mother was human, but the fact that Neveah had a wolf and such a powerful one at that had left doubts in Neveah’s mind.

If Neveah was truly a half breed, it would have dampened her wolf’s ability greatly, if she was lucky enough to even have one.

It was why everyone had concluded Neveah would not even have a wolf in the first place, because most half human, half werewolf born did not possess the ability to shift...it had always been this way.

"I guess my words were suitable enough to buy

a few monts to explain myself and save my life. Or perhaps she just found

too weird and not worth killing...".

"But in the next mont, I swore, I was wrong to believe I had seen the most beautiful sight already, for when she shifted...By the Creator..." Kaideon whispered, the awe in his words conveying just how he had felt on that day.
