Chapter 274: A Strange Vision (Ch.274)
~Nord Clan Settlent, Forest Tajmaé~
"What is this place?" Dante wondered aloud as he glanced around the dark hall he had found himself in.
The hall stretched on and on for as far as Dante could see and the ground beneath his feet was made of the sa material as the wall.
It was a strange dark material that looked to be as smooth as marble, but the slightest movent sent ripples across the surface as though Dante stood on water.
"I do not have ti for this." Dante murmured in annoyance as he took a cautious step forward, placing a hand on the wall to feel around it.
Dante drew his hand back when ripples spread from where his hand had touched down the length of the wall.
Dante glanced down at the cuffs restraining him, a low growl rumbling out of his throat.
There was only so much ti till the High Maiden regained consciousness, this ti was better used figuring out a way to get back to Estelle.
But instead, Dante found himself here, in a strange hall he had been transported to through the High Maiden’s vision.
"Vision... the High Maiden was having a vision when I touched her." Dante recalled, glancing around the strange environnt once again as a suspicion was stirred within him.
"Could it be... that I am also in a vision right now?" Dante murmured to himself, deciding that was the best explanation for his situation.
But the question remained, what kind of vision was this exactly and just how could Dante get out of it?
"How many days have I caused a delay to Elle’s mission? If I am in a vision, I should at least see sothing useful."
"The present situation in Keep Skies, or what has beco of Fort Blazed at the least. What is this endless hall? This is just rotten luck." Dante grumbled in annoyance as he moved slowly down the hall, hoping to find soway out.
Dante walked on and on for a far distance, at least it seed like that to him but Dante could not tell exactly since no matter how far he walked, everywhere looked the exact sa.
Frustration churned within Dante as he glanced about the hall, his brows furrowed into a deep frown.
Dante reached within, seeking out his dragon side, but just like before, there seed to be too great a distance between them and Dante just could not reach across it.
"Even in this vision, I still cannot shift." Dante murmured to himself with a sigh as he continued his aimless walking.
"Perhaps if I walk long enough, I would get to the other side. Or if not, at least it will give that High Maiden as much ti as she needs to regain consciousness so I can also be let out of here."
"Equally, I shall not loose my mind from staying in one place." Dante decided.
Just when Dante continued walking, he again ca to a stop as he sensed a presence approaching from sowhere down the hall.
First, all Dante sensed was a presence and then, soon after, he could faintly pick up quiet footsteps.
So quiet, Dante knew whoever was coming was skilled in combat to have mastered such silent movent.
It also ant whoever was coming was surely dangerous and Dante did not bother glancing around, he already knew there was nowhere to hide.
Dante glanced down at his cuffs, they did not provide much allowance for movent and so combat would not work in his favor.
Dante could only hope dying in a vision would just an he would wake up back to the present ti and if there was allowance to hope further, Dante also hoped he would awaken as far away from the lecherous nymphs as possible.
Before Dante could think any further, he heard a quiet grumble.
"Does this tunnel ever end? I have certainly been down here for hours." Ca a light female voice just as a figure ca into view.
At the exact mont she said those words, Dante’s surrounding changed, from a hall of pitch black walls to an equally dark and damp looking tunnel.
Dante stared at the new presence, blinking in astonishnt to find it was only a young woman who looked to be a few sumrs short of her twentieth year.
The woman was dressed in a rider’s suit with a pitch black cloak draped over it, as though in a bid to keep her suit hidden and Dante could not tell exactly what color she wore.
Beneath the large hood of the cloak, Dante caught a glimpse of golden tresses, right as the young woman walked up to him and right past him as though she had not seen him at all.
Dante blinked in astonishnt, glancing down at himself and wondering if he was so small that he could be so easily missed when he had been in her direct view.
"She cannot see , I’m just a third party here." Dante realized as he turned and followed after the strange rider clad in a black cloak.
Her movent was swift and stealthy, her strides fast and it was a struggle for Dante to keep up when the cuffs around his ankles slowed him down.
Even so, Dante kept as close a trail as he could. Whoever this woman was, she was the first person Dante had seen since finding himself in this strange place
Dante knew for certain he was ant to follow her, there was not a single doubt in his mind that whatever this vision was, it was centered around her.
It was strange that Dante felt so certain, yet it was sothing he just knew.
If nothing else, this woman would provide him a way out but first, Dante had to ensure he did not lose sight of her.
With that in mind, Dante doubled his step and hurried on as much as the cuffs would allow, keeping his gaze fixed on the swishing trail of that pitch black cloak.
