Chapter 239: A Season In Tajmaé 4 (Ch.239)
It had already been a few hours of walking and Estelle’s patience was quickly running thin, to be precise, her patience was already hanging on it’s very last hinges.
Estelle did not think she could put up with this aimless movent for much longer, she could hardly trust the druid nymphs were taking her to where they said they would.
And even if they were, they clearly did not understand the urgency Estelle felt to arrive as soon as possible.
Estelle had awakened a ss and with the terror of her nightmare still hanging over her, she was caught off guard by these druid nymphs.
Estelle had not had a decent al too, her stomach roiled in hunger reminding her of that fact and it only left Estelle feeling even more worried for Dante.
Dante was always the one who provided als, right from the start of their journey, he sorted out everything without Estelle having to ask.
Peharps he got them lost in the Tajmaé forest at the wrong ti...but that still did not change the fact that was clearly known to Estelle.
Estelle could not have co this far so quickly without Dante and she could not make the rest of the journey without him too.
Estelle passed a glare to the head guard and not for the first ti in the past hour. These nymphs did not seem the slightest bit concerned about Estelle’s well being since capturing her.
They knew nothing of how restless Estelle felt being out here with strange people she knew nothing of and having no knowledge of Dante’s whereabout.
If Estelle was to consider her more visible concerns, the rims of her dress was completely soiled in mud and perspiration had dampened her clothing and hair making strands of it get stuck to her face.
Estelle dearly needed a shower and had Dante been here, he would have tracked down a clean stream and stood guard while Estelle washed as he had done these past days.
Dante this, Dante that... thinking about it, Estelle did not think she had done anything for her ownself but sulk while leaving every concern to Dante.
Was it her trust in Dante that made her so reliant on him? Or was it because Dante was the only familiar presence Estelle had left?
Estelle was not sure and she did not wish to ponder over it. All she knew was the fact that Dante had done so much for her without the slightest complaint or hesitation.
And while Dante was being captured and taken away by unscrupulous nymphs, Estelle had slept right through it.
Estelle was certain if the roles were switched, Dante would have sensed it imdiately...to be more exact, Dante would never lose sight of Estelle for long enough for her to et any harm.
"How much farther?" Estelle asked again, her hands tightly clenching her dress to calm the growing panic she felt.
With each mont that passed by, Estelle felt even more worried for Dante...who knew what those nymphs were doing to him while she wasted all this ti?
"If you were to ask a thousand tis, it still would not make the distance any shorter. Be at ease, we will arrive soon." The head guard assured.
Estelle bit down on her lip, the druid nymphs were only taking her to see their clan leader just so he could confirm her identity.
But Estelle wanted to see the clan leader of the druid nymphs for a different reason entirely.
Estelle would not reveal this to the head guard just yet, with the way he spoke, he saw nothing wrong in Dante’s capture.
Estelle would have to find her own way to convince the clan leader of the druid nymphs and the sooner she got to et him, the sooner she could figure out just how to convince him.
"I would say, you should not be so eager to arrive. We nymphs are not kind to trespassers, dragon blood or not. But first...we will get to know if truly you are who you claim to be." The other druid nymph pointed out the obvious.
"Just get
to your clan leader, would you? I will not mince words with underlings." Estelle huffed out in annoyance.
"You must think you are lord over us, watch it girl!" The second druid nymph warned, narrowing his eyes at Estelle’s haughty tone.
"Let the girl be." The head guard reprimanded his companion before Estelle could snap right back at him.
The second druid nymph grumbled beneath his breath but he obeyed the orders of his superior and said nothing more.
Estelle also held her tongue, as agitated as she was, she could not afford to get on the bad side of the druid nymphs just yet, not until Dante was back by her side.
’You just wait till Dante hears how rude you’ve been to .’ Estelle thought to herself, fixing her glare on the second druid nymph for a mont longer before she dropped her gaze.
They continued on in silence for a short ti and through the whole ti, Estelle was lost in her own thoughts.
Not long after, they arrived at a clearing and the druid nymphs stopped.
"Is this it? The nymph settlent?" Estelle asked as she also ca to a stop, letting her gaze wander around the plain clearing that was bare of anything else but so large rocks and a small lake.
"Certainly not." The second druid replied with a scoff.
"This is as far as your awareness is allowed. From here on out, the paths leading to the heart of Forest Tajmaé are not to be made known to outsiders." The head guard explained as he held up a blindfold.
"Why is this necessary?" Estelle demanded, staring warily at the blindfold.
"Because those who see the way in...may never leave Forest Tajmaé again." The second druid’s voice sounded from right behind Estelle, having crept behind her in her distraction.
Estelle’s eyes widened but before she could react, a force made contact with the back of Estelle’s neck and Estelle’s eyes widened as black spots danced across her vision.
"You..." Estelle began to say but she did not manage to complete her words.
"I beg your pardon, Lady." Were the last words Estelle heard from the head guard right before her consciousness was pulled into darkness.
