Lin Yi looked up and saw Han Xuewei in the distance, helping a man to his feet. The sight made Lin Yi frown—he was all too familiar with this kind of thing.

After all, he often heard news on TV about a new type of fraud involving people pretending to be sick or pitiable and then taking advantage of those who offered to help them.

So did it for money, while others did it to kidnap children, so Lin Yi was on alert and imdiately stopped his car and walked toward the scene.

In the anti, Aunt Liu had bought several hamburgers and a few cups of cola, and she approached the man.

The little boy, seeing the food, imdiately reached out to grab it—he was just too hungry, and he had hardly ever eaten sothing like a hamburger before. The sll alone was enough to make him lose control.

The man, seeing the child's impolite gesture, slapped the boy's hand away.

At the slap, tears nearly spilled from the little boy's eyes; the man had not been gentle, "You can't be so rude!" the man scolded, and then respectfully took the food from Aunt Liu and bowed his head, saying, "Thank you so much, really, I'm so grateful. Good people will get their reward..."

While speaking, he patted the little boy's head.

The little boy, hearing this, nodded as well, "Thank you."

At the hospital entrance, a lot of people had gathered, and upon seeing the man, they started murmuring to each other.

"Did you see that man? I think I saw him here a couple of days ago; he's been hanging around this area asking for food, but he doesn't seem to beg for money much."

"Oh, co on, if he were here to ask for money and didn't get any, why would he keep coming back? Money doesn't just walk away."

"You folks don't know? The news lately has been fierce about people who co to hospitals pretending to be sick. They're clearly angling for the wealthy; rich people don't fuss over these things, do they?"

"Look at those people over there, their clothing is so fancy, they're definitely not from your average family!"

"That can't be right. I just heard about them over the hospital PA system this morning; isn't that little boy sick?"

"Have you not heard about the new kind of fraud, where they say it's all a sche to kidnap kids? You know, with the hospital being such a hectic place, full of sick children and with adults sotis not paying enough attention, their kids could just wander off..."

People were talking all over the place, and at that mont, Han Xuewei, despite what she overheard, looked resolute; she believed she hadn't misjudged the situation.

anwhile, Lin Yi approached her and asked, "What's happened?"

Han Xuewei looked at the man in front of her and replied, "Honey, that little boy has leukemia, and they don't have the money for treatnt. It seems they can only go back ho now.

I find it too heartbreaking; such a young child afflicted with such a serious disease," she said, unwittingly casting a glance at her own child, ngng, who was by then asleep.

Since becoming a mother, Han Xuewei has beco more sensitive to everything around her, especially to seeing these kinds of situations—the little boy was now gobbling down the hamburger, his eyes wide, clear, and bright.

It was just too much for anyone to bear seeing a child so young suffer like this; upon hearing this, the man wiped away his tears, saying, "Thank you all very much. It's alright, children getting sick is just fate. If I weren't so helpless, maybe I could save my child. But with this disease, he probably doesn't have much ti left."

The man sighed. If he had the ability, he would undoubtedly want to save his own child by any ans necessary, but he couldn't morally coerce others into helping. He was already grateful for the willingness he'd encountered.

Not wanting to waste anyone else's ti, he held his child and began to retreat toward the back, planning to leave, when Lin Yi looked at the man before him.

For Lin, such a matter was not significant. However, he wasn't the type to help out at the sight of suffering, for then he wouldn't have a life of his own—he couldn't possibly step outside and help everyone he t.

After all, every living being suffers, and one can only liberate oneself.

But Lin Yi spoke up, "Sir, don't be in a hurry. I know of a charity foundation. They provide help for people in difficult situations like yours. I can contact them for you. Maybe there's hope."

As Lin Yi spoke, he had already decided to help after seeing the sad look on Han Xuewei's face. Han Xuewei was a kind person who, when faced with such circumstances, always wanted to help a little more if she could.

Lin Yi was now quite capable, and whether to help or not depended solely on his own decision.

Upon hearing these words, the man's eyes widened with excitent. Holding his child, he was about to kneel down again, "Really? Sir, is there really a chance? That would be wonderful, I'm so grateful..."

The man spoke and was about to kneel when Lin Yi and Han Xuewei imdiately stepped forward to lift him up.

"Yes, there might be a chance!"

Lin Yi said while helping him up and added, "Don't worry just yet. Let make a phone call and talk to them."

Lin Yi said this and directly called Zhou Jianlai. When Zhou Jianlai took the call, he was sowhat worried—could it be that the dical team wasn't reliable?

Zhou Jianlai answered the call nervously, but Lin Yi's unhurried voice ca through from the other end.

"Zhou Jianlai, I'm at the entrance of this hospital. Just as I was leaving, I ca across a man and his child. His child has leukemia and needs to be hospitalized now. Have the doctor we just talked to co down to receive them, and we will take care of all the expenses."

After Lin Yi finished speaking, Zhou Jianlai imdiately nodded in agreent and hung up the call.

Lin Yi liked dealing with Zhou Jianlai for many things, largely because Zhou Jianlai's thods were efficient.

After making the call, Lin Yi then phoned the president of the Huadian Charity Foundation, which the system had granted him.

Once the system gave him a company, it would add all the contact information and everything else to his phone. Therefore, Lin Yi could easily find the number and call. The voice that imdiately rang out on the other end was cordial.

"Hello, Mr. Lin. How can I assist you today?" The voice on the other end was Wang Shaogang, the president of the foundation.

Wang Shaogang was sowhat surprised to receive a call from Lin Yi, a major figure in their foundation. He hadn't expected him to make a call.

Lin Yi simply recounted the situation he had encountered. Wang Shaogang imdiately understood and responded, "Please rest assured, Mr. Lin. We'll handle this matter. Our team will go out to verify and have them fill out the registration. As long as the situation is confird as true, we can cover all the dical expenses."
