"Mr. Lin Yun, an employee of the Bureau of Special Tactics, although already an extraordinary person compared to ordinary people, and even many people who have mastered magical powers as ordinary humans, but this level of power is nothing more than a mantis trying to stop a chariot for the kingdom."

"We need several people, even a dozen people with equipnt to barely deal with the Brutal Beasts at the Egg level, but they are just ordinary prey for the Magical Girls."

"We put in a lot of effort, only to beco a tool between the kingdom and the material world. We have to deal with the boring obstacles that the Magical Girls may encounter, and we have to balance between multiple forces and try to appease the emotions of the people. This is the true situation and true role of the Bureau of Special Tactics."

"We are just the kingdom's gloves, and the protection that gloves can provide is so fragile."

"So I can't promise you that we have the ability to protect your daughter. I just hope that you can believe that I will do my best to help her and her companions avoid potential dangers."

"I understand how you feel."

Lin Yun rembered Moss's words.

Even though there were only so details and questions and answers afterwards, a few days later, he would still occasionally think about the content of this conversation.

A simple conversation was not enough for him to judge Moss's position and thoughts, but the information she provided had to be taken seriously. It was not only about the kingdom and the "Claw Mark," but also about what she had experienced and her own matters.

"My daughter was also a Magical Girl before."

This sentence made him think about many things, both about the present and the future.

Moss said that she would find a suitable opportunity later to pass on the information she knew about the Claw Mark to Lin Xiaolu. She just hoped that Lin Yun could keep it a secret and not spread her comnts about the Claw Mark and the Bureau of Special Tactics. She would also not reveal the conversation with Lin Yun to Lin Xiaolu.

"Miss Bai i seems to be unaware of her mother's situation. Based on the principle of mutual confidentiality, we have not disclosed it to her. You may have your own arrangents for this, but from what I can see, you should tell her the truth as soon as possible."

These were Moss's exact words at that ti:

"Children always have to grow up, and a child who becos a Magical Girl may grow up faster than you think."

A few days later, on the subway, Lin Yun looked at his phone.

There was a text ssage from Lin Xiaolu, with a very short content, only three words:

[Rember to co].

He leaned against the back of the seat, enjoying the rare mont of being able to sit on the subway, and replied with a slightly cheerful mood: [Definitely].

Ti passed quickly. Since the day he sent his daughter to school and made a promise about the truth on the train, he could feel that Lin Xiaolu's attitude towards him had softened a little.

Although it was only a little, it had changed from being unwilling to communicate, mostly negative and resistant during communication, to occasionally having calm daily conversations. However, the fact that his relationship with his daughter could change was already a rare experience.

So today, facing the parent-teacher eting he had ntioned before, he was fully prepared.

The company arranged overti work, and he switched shifts with others. He declined his colleagues' dinner invitation and arranged for soone else to handle the client's requests. All work-related matters were put aside, and there were no obstacles to stop him from going to the parent-teacher eting.

Now, he had already taken the subway to Lin Xiaolu's school early in the afternoon.

He didn't know when it started to drizzle outside the window. The continuous raindrops left traces on the window. Lin Yun sat in the train with a sowhat excited mood, quietly waiting for the mont of arrival at his destination.

To ensure that his work was completed and that there was no extra burden today, he had been tired from working overti for several days. After sitting for a long ti, he felt drowsy and his eyelids were heavy. He had to force himself to stay awake to avoid missing his stop.

Just as he was struggling with himself, he suddenly heard a scream in a daze.

"Ah!"

It was probably this kind of sound that made him suddenly alert and regain his focus.

Imdiately after, the train started shaking violently.

Lin Yun, sitting in his seat, quickly grabbed the nearby handrail, preventing himself from being thrown off. But in his field of vision, several passengers were rolling and falling from the front of the train to the back in the chaos.

Amidst the chaos, the piercing screams continued, and the lights in the train flickered, making him squint his eyes.

The train was still moving. He first looked out of the window behind him and found that there was nothing. Then, he struggled to jump off his seat. He grabbed the handrail across the aisle and swayed to the window, looking towards the direction of the impact again.A colossal Brutal Beast was clinging onto the subway, its claws piercing through a passenger's body. The passenger's abdon was bleeding profusely, his head drooping motionlessly, most likely already dead.

"Damn it, why now?"

Lin Yun couldn't help but curse under his breath, but the ringing of his phone at his waist quickly brought him back to his senses.

He pulled out the phone from his pocket, realizing it was indeed Cui Que's phone, with the incoming call displayed as "Bai i".

Looking around, he noticed that many passengers were lying on the ground, wailing in pain, while a few others seed relatively unhard, rely cowering in their seats with terrified expressions. His heart tightened, realizing he couldn't transform here.

Ignoring the call on his phone, he left his seat again, stumbling towards the front of the violently shaking carriage, and found a safety hamr on the side wall.

Gripping the safety hamr, he gritted his teeth, steadied himself, and smashed it hard against the window.

At first, the people inside the carriage didn't realize what he was doing. When they did, they tried to stop him.

"Stop it," "Don't do this," "Are you trying to kill yourself?" The shouts were incessant, but Lin Yun didn't stop. He kept hamring at the window until cracks appeared at its corners. He smashed all four corners until the entire window shattered.

The shattered glass flew around in the shaking carriage, a few pieces scraping across Lin Yun's face, leaving a few bloody marks. Lin Yun changed his position, standing on the seat.

He looked at the scenery flying by outside the window, gripping the vibrating phone in his hand, his expression becoming resolute.

Then, amidst the gasps of the passengers, he jumped out of the window.

The subway tracks were elevated from the ground, but not by much, leaving Lin Yun with limited ti. As he jumped out of the window, he was thrown into the air, tumbling due to the strong inertia.

He held onto his Flower of the Heart, its light swirling.

A deep blue Magic Power radiated out, and Cui Que erged from the brilliance of the magic. From the mont she appeared, the magic power gushing from behind her propelled her to fly after the subway.

She took out the now silent phone, pressed the redial button, and after a mont, the call was connected.

—"Cui Que, Mo Ke said there's a Brutal Beast attack in the direction of Luoming Line 4!"

Lin Xiaolu's voice ca from the phone, her words rushed: "I'm still at school, it will take so ti for to get there, but I'll hurry. I'll send you the exact location soon, and Xia Liang, we should be there soon..."

"No need."

Cui Que interrupted her: "I'll be there soon, don't co."

"Why?" Lin Xiaolu asked.

"Didn't you guys ntion before that there's a parent-teacher eting at school today?"

"But..." Lin Xiaolu still wanted to argue.

"The Brutal Beast this ti is a Caterpillar, don't co."

Cui Que quickened her speech, calmly replying amidst the howling wind: "I happen to be nearby, not far from the scene now, and I can see the Brutal Beast. Without a doubt, it would be dangerous for you guys to co. Leave this one to ."

"So focus on your own things, don't get distracted. If your parents arrive at school and find you're not there, it would be hard to explain, right?"

"Um..." Lin Xiaolu's reply was clearly hesitant.

"Then leave it to , don't worry, I'm strong."

Saying this, Cui Que hung up the call.

The deep blue Magic Power chased after the subway, flying all the way. After a few brief accelerations, she surged forward a distance, and in just a few seconds, Cui Que caught up with the carriage where the Brutal Beast was.

At this mont, the Brutal Beast was frantically tearing at the carriage. The carriage under its claws was completely torn open, and passengers were being pulled out, screaming, and thrown into its mouth full of sharp teeth.

It can be hard to make great work when its stolen from bit.ly/3iBfjkV.

Just as a young man was wailing, struggling to break free from its claws, the Brutal Beast's movent stopped. It was as if it had been hit by a legendary immobilization spell, bound by sothing. Its forearm was trembling, seemingly still exerting force, but it couldn't move an inch.

The brief calm gave the man a chance to catch his breath. In his fear, he opened his eyes, seeming to realize sothing, and looked towards the distance.

There, a girl in a dark blue dress was standing on top of the carriage, her blue hair fluttering in the wild wind under her hat. The rain couldn't hide her murderous expression:

"Can't you pick another ti to die? Don't get in my way of attending a parent-teacher eting, beast."
