Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Vest Miss J

The next afternoon, after school, Jiang Zhe went to Xu Jin’s recording studio.

“I’ve arrived,” Jiang Zhe sent a WeChat ssage.

Xu Jin ca out with half of his head full of hair clips, with the hairstylist chasing after him.

“Xiaozhe!” Xu Jin loved to smile; as soon as he called her na, his eyes crinkled into a smile.

“Let’s go in,” said Jiang Zhe, leading the way inside.

Once Xu Jin entered, the hairstylist forcefully sat him down to continue working on his hair.

The hairstylist glanced at Jiang Zhe from ti to ti. He knew he shouldn’t be so curious, but he had been Xu Jin’s hairstylist for such a long ti and had never seen or heard of any scandals involving Xu Jin.

This young girl seed to be highly valued by Xu Jin. Could she be his girlfriend?

But then again, if she were his girlfriend, she would be quite young, wouldn’t she?

The agent rushed out, and upon seeing Jiang Zhe, imdiately told an assistant, “Get Teacher Xiaozhe a cup of coffee, less sugar, less milk. Teacher Xiaozhe, will you accompany Xu Jin for the entire recording session tonight?”

“Yes. What’s the problem with the recording?” Jiang Zhe asked.

“The other songs went smoothly, but with this new piece, there are a few parts that are hard to handle with finesse, whether it’s Xu Jin himself or the music teachers. But there doesn’t seem to be any issue when looking at the score…” The agent handed over the score marked with red pen by Xu Jin to Jiang Zhe.

Jiang Zhe scanned it briefly and said, “I’ll listen first when you start recording later.”

“Okay, I’ll communicate with the director.”

The hairstylist was amazed—this young girl was a mber of Xu Jin’s team?

Xu Jin’s current team was nationally recognized as top-notch, and they complented him well. Even the hairstylist had beco quite sought-after because of it, and now there was a young girl involved.

Soon, Xu Jin’s hair was arranged, the musicians were in place, and the director was ready.

The lights ca on, and the director started shooting.

With a microphone in hand, Xu Jin began to sing along with the music.

The beginning went smoothly, but he struggled when he reached the climax in the middle. It wasn’t just him; even the other musicians started to have slight issues with their rhythm.

Xu Jin’s gaze fell on Jiang Zhe, waiting for her instructions.

After listening, Jiang Zhe gestured.

“Let’s try again,” Xu Jin stopped and signaled to everyone.

After two or three attempts, the beginning parts were flawless, but problems always lurked in the middle section—it just couldn’t flow completely smoothly.

Jiang Zhe sat on the side with her arms crossed, taking a sip of coffee now and then, looking unconcerned.

The director frowned—this had happened several tis already.

“Let’s switch to Version B then,” the director suggested. It had been agreed beforehand that if they couldn’t proceed smoothly with the original version, they would have to change that part of the score.

“Director, let

try one more ti,” Xu Jin raised his hand, and Jiang Zhe had already appeared by his side.

Jiang Zhe whispered sothing to him, and a look of realization dawned on Xu Jin’s face.

After speaking, Jiang Zhe walked over to the musicians and gave them a few pointers.

Everyone was surprised and wondered who she was.

“What’s going on? Are we really continuing with this?”

“Is what she suggested viable?”

“Whose daughter is this, skipping school to co here?”

Although Jiang Zhe carried herself with a professional deanor that commanded respect, her young age and school uniform inevitably made people sowhat skeptical.

Xu Jin said, “Do as she says.”

Everyone had their doubts, but since even Xu Jin was listening to her, nobody had any objections to voice.

Seeing the director’s surprised reaction, the agent said, “Jiang Zhe, the composer Xu Jin always uses.”

“The one who goes by the na of Miss J?” the director asked, quite taken aback.

“Yes,” the agent replied with a smile, “She’s a big deal, not soone you can easily request. If it weren’t for how important this song is to Xu Jin, she wouldn’t have co to Jincheng to record.”

It had indeed struck the director as odd earlier. For dostic song recordings and music video shootings, people usually chose big cities like Beijing and Yun City. Xu Jin had co all this long way to record here, and now it was clear why.

“How old is she?” the director asked.

Jiang Zhe was still wearing her school uniform, with her backpack tossed to the side.

And Xu Jin had been using Miss J’s compositions for several years now.

How early did she start composing for Xu Jin?

The agent chuckled and said, “You know, Director, Xu Jin started as an actor and was initially ridiculed for his singing, criticized for lacking lody and rhythm. He never thought about pursuing a singing career, but he couldn’t resist his passion for it and liked to sing for fun. However, after eting Jiang Zhe, she composed several songs specifically for his vocal characteristics and gave him a few pointers. And as you can see, Xu Jin now has multiple concerts under his belt.”

Indeed, the director recalled, Xu Jin hadn’t studied singing and had sung many the songs for his own works out of sheer enthusiasm. But it was truly from the ti Jiang Zhe started composing for him that he began to amass a following of music fans.

“I really thought Miss J was a seasoned lyricist and composer,” the director admitted with a mix of surprise and admiration. No wonder so many singers had been trying to poach Miss J over the years, yet couldn’t even find her.

Turns out she was still a student in school.

Xu Jin gestured, “Director, let’s record once more.”

The lights ca on, the music started, and the director began shooting the music video again.

Midway through the recording, everyone started to worry that the climax might pose a problem.

However, that concern was unnecessary. Xu Jin’s voice effortlessly glided through, his natural vocal quality was already good, and regular exercise had kept him in shape. Once he got the hang of it, everything flowed smoothly.

The musicians, too, did not disappoint this ti and managed to hit the notes perfectly.

When the song was fully recorded, everyone was visibly relaxed.

The musicians looked at Jiang Zhe with newfound respect, all their previous doubts replaced by admiration.

Jiang Zhe stood up, slinging her backpack over her shoulder, “Then, I’ll be off.”

“Xiaozhe, wait a mont, let’s have a al together,” the agent was reluctant to see her leave so soon.

“I’ve already eaten,” she replied.

“Then wait a mont, I need to discuss sothing with you shortly,” the agent suggested.

Jiang Zhe then sat back down.

On Xu Jin’s end, they needed to record a few more tis, as the director required different angles for the music video editing.

Outside the door stood the figure of Jiang Fanyue.

Accompanying her was Liang Jinlan, both carrying the latest fashion from the Jiang Family, waiting for Xu Jin.

An hour passed, and they still hadn’t seen Xu Jin.

Jiang Fanyue asked softly, “Mom, is Xu Jin really here tonight?”

“I’ve already inquired, he’s here tonight recording a music video for a new song. He’s definitely around,” Liang Jinlan was very certain, “When we see him, we’ll give him the clothes to wear. He’ll find it hard to refuse.”
