Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Tonight, I Don’t Want to Wear the Sa Outfit as Soone Else
Fen Ye muttered in a low voice as he opened the door, “Damn!”
So people really do manage to look more stunning with each passing day.
Qin Jingchen got out of the car and approached Jiang Zhe.
Jiang Zhe was casually holding her cellphone, her eyes lifting to et his.
There was a restrained sothing in his eyes as he reached out to the edge of Jiang Zhe’s neck, adjusting the hem of her dress which wasn’t even out of place.
The skin beneath his fingers was like jade.
Jiang Zhe didn’t move, letting him adjust her dress, looking at him with an open and calm expression.
She looked up, the line of her gaze tracing the beautiful contours of her eyes, and Qin Jingchen avoided her gaze.
“There,” Qin Jingchen said softly, his voice slightly husky.
“Let’s go inside,” Jiang Zhe said.
Fen Ye shook his head, his perennially contented spirit stirred; this fire was burning fiercely.
anwhile, Jiang Fanyue had t up with Lin Xue.
Lin Xue, true to her girl group origins, had arrived with flawless makeup—utterly impeccable.
Especially in a white dress trimd with ruffles, she was eye-catching.
Reporters and her team’s photographers had taken two rounds of pictures, which were already being retouched and would soon be shared with her fans.
Even the reporters admired her look for the day.
“Lin Xue, you’re really beautiful today!” Jiang Fanyue didn’t skimp on her praise, complinting her generously.
She already knew Lin Xue was Gu Jiaheng’s distant cousin, and it was only beneficial for her to establish a good relationship with Lin Xue.
“Thank you, Fanyue. And it’s all thanks to this beautiful dress you gave . Thanks for your thoughtfulness,” Lin Xue said.
Jiang Fanyue smiled and replied, “Actually, the dress is the creation of our new designer, Sister Xun. It’s her unreleased new product. Sister Xun, just look how gorgeous your dress looks on Lin Xue! It perfectly complents her. Once it’s released, with Lin Xue’s influence to ‘plant grass,’ it’s bound to be a red-hot bestseller.”
Xun Liya had already established a partnership with the Jiang Family and beca their chief designer after dining with them once.
Xun Liya graciously accepted the complints from Jiang Fanyue, “Thank you, but it’s really because Lin Xue has a good figure and is beautiful that she can wear my dress so splendidly. I’m truly flattered this ti.”
She was very satisfied with Jiang Fanyue’s handling of the situation.
Although she was sowhat well-known, her reputation had not yet been fully established.
With Lin Xue wearing the leading brand from her first collection with the Jiang Family, Lin Xue’s company would undoubtedly promote it widely. Combined with the support from Master Yue, the Jiang Family’s brand was bound to reach a broader world.
Her value would rise accordingly.
“So it’s Sister Xun’s masterpiece. Thank you to Sister Xun as well. You are so kind!” Lin Xue, beautiful and sweet-talking, made both the host and guest very happy.
The group moved forward, exchanging complints and flattery.
They happened to run into Jiang Zhe and the others entering through the school gate.
Jiang Fanyue paused, seeing the simple dress on Jiang Zhe setting her apart, almost otherworldly, it took her breath away.
Jiang Zhe had no part in today’s competition, so why was she dressed like this?
“Oh my god, that man…” Tan Lu gasped, at a loss for words at how stunning Qin Jingchen looked.
Zhang Xi’s eyes were shining too.
Xun Liya and Lin Xue were also bright-eyed; they had encountered many n in the entertainnt industry, but only now, seeing the man before them, did they realize that all the others were but fleeting clouds.
Jiang Fanyue also noticed that the n accompanying Jiang Zhe were two extraordinarily handso individuals.
The man with a slightly casual deanor was already eye-catching, but the other, with a deanor of quiet composure, was even more resplendent.
She rembered having seen these two from a distance before, only their silhouettes, never expecting them to look like this from the front.
She had thought that Gu Jiaheng was the epito of human perfection, but next to these two, the idea suddenly struck her that Gu Jiaheng wasn’t even fit to carry their shoes.
She dismissed the absurd comparison from her mind.
Then she heard Tan Lu speak, “Hey, what’s with Xiao ng? She’s wearing the sa dress as Lin Xue!”
Reminded by her words, the attention shifted from Jiang Zhe and Qin Jingchen to Xiao ng, who had gone largely unnoticed until then.
Upon closer inspection, it was indeed apparent that the white dress Jiang Zhe wore was inconspicuous, lacking any distinct cut or design, but Xiao ng’s outfit was virtually identical to Lin Xue’s.
The ruffled edges at the neckline and cuffs, along with the delicate tailoring, were almost an exact match.
What Tan Lu and the others found even harder to accept was that Xiao ng, who normally didn’t seem to have much of a figure, was wearing an outfit that managed to overshadow Lin Xue’s subtly.
Lin Xue was sweet-looking, but her height was a disadvantage, and her legs were sowhat short and thick; she usually wore high heels and, with the help of photo editors, appeared exceptionally cute.
But today, because it was an official piano competition, she didn’t wear high heels.
Hence, her outfit didn’t look as good as Xiao ng’s.
She herself was aware of her shortcomings; her expression changed as she said, “Fanyue, I thought the unreleased new item you were giving
was unique, but it seems others have it too.”
Jiang Fanyue couldn’t possibly take the bla for this unexpected turn of events, “No, our new line truly hasn’t been released; it’s definitely not for sale anywhere outside!”
Jiang Zhe had no intention of getting entangled in their drama, but on hearing this, he also looked at Lin Xue.
The dress Lin Xue was wearing seed very familiar.
Was it designed by the new designer at the Jiang Family?
Fearing Lin Xue’s displeasure, a panicked Jiang Fanyue blurted out, “Xun Sister, have your design drafts ever been exposed? Could soone have gotten hold of them and had a similar dress made?”
Xun Liya felt a bit guilty, but thinking it wasn’t possible, went along with Jiang Fanyue’s line of thought, “I’m not sure about that; a piece of clothing goes through many hands from design to finished product. It’s possible soone took it outside.”
Lin Xue felt appeased; it seed this was an accident, not a deliberate lack of consideration from the Jiang Family.
She said indifferently, “I don’t want to be wearing the sa dress as soone else tonight.”
Jiang Fanyue imdiately responded, “Xiao ng, go back and change into another dress.”
Xiao ng only had that one dress for the competition; she had nothing else to change into.
Besides, she hadn’t done anything wrong.
“If you’re short on clothes, I’ll have soone bring you a new one right away,” Jiang Fanyue offered, realizing Xiao ng had no other options.
Tan Lu and Zhang Xi chid in supportively, “Yes, Xiao ng, go change quickly. Fanyue is just looking out for you. There will be many journalists and industry elites here tonight. If it gets reported that you wore a counterfeit on stage, it’ll only be more embarrassing. Who knows who’s jealous of you, to insist that you wear a counterfeit like that.”
