Chapter 144: Chapter 144 I’m Not Interested

A young girl, whose beauty was so striking that it verged on bewitching, stood before them.

Zhou Yaming had seen Jiang Zhe’s photos, but the flatness of the photos diminished the three-dinsionality of the features in real life, which greatly lessened the impact of Jiang Zhe in the photos, although even in them, she was almost flawless.

But the real Jiang Zhe was a thousand tis more dazzling than her photos.

This considerably improved Zhou Yaming’s first impression of her; he could dismiss all the rumors and gossip.

“Jiang Zhe, let

introduce you. This is Professor Zhou Yaming from the National Conservatory of Music. He has co to assess your musical literacy. If suitable, he might offer you an opportunity to join his departnt,” Director Han introduced right away.

Jiang Zhe rembered that she had already declined Fa Pinglun’s offer to introduce friends to her.

Fa Pinglun wouldn’t go against her wishes, so this person before her was definitely not one of Fa Pinglun’s friends.

Of course, even if he were, Jiang Zhe wouldn’t consider their seeking her out an honor.

She simply greeted them out of politeness.

Upon seeing Jiang Zhe, Zhou Yaming had decided to take her as his student, even if there were problems with her creative ability, he was willing to believe in her.

“So, you are Jiang Zhe?” Zhou Yaming appraised her from head to toe.

Jiang Zhe nodded, not appreciating such a scrutinizing gaze.

“Jiang Zhe, I ca here because I heard you are Miss J who has created many fine compositions; you are very talented. Are you interested in coming to our school to be my student? I know your grades aren’t very good, but don’t worry, I’ll figure sothing out,” Zhou Yaming asked.

When he spoke, he did so casually, feeling there was no need to introduce himself or his school in detail, since Jiang Zhe couldn’t possibly be unaware of them.

Jiang Zhe was already sowhat fed up today, especially with these questions to which she had no interest. Was she supposed to lie?

She replied as politely as possible, “Thank you, but I’m not interested.”

As the words left her mouth, Zhou Yaming doubted he had heard correctly.

Jiang Zhe said she wasn’t interested?

He was very surprised, thinking that Jiang Zhe must be ignorant about his school to give such a response.

But, the National Conservatory of Music, to have to introduce soone to it, was indeed quite magical realism.

Beyond her beauty and so-called talent, what else did Jiang Zhe have?

Director Han imdiately stepped in to smooth things over, “Jiang Zhe, the National Conservatory of Music recruits the most talented music students from across the nation every year. It also provides talented composers for the whole country, even the world. It would be quite beneficial to you. Professor Zhou specially ca here to reserve a place for you at their school, and he will personally ntor you.”

How could Jiang Zhe not be aware of this school? She still said calmly, “I don’t want to go.”

“Why?” Director Han was surprised.

Zhou Yaming was even more surprised. Director Han had clearly introduced the credentials of the school, and she still disagreed?

“No reason. I just don’t want to go.” Jiang Zhe held back from chewing gum, but her fingers inside her bag were already flipping a pack of gum.

The person before her was irkso. She didn’t want to go, and she wasn’t interested; why must there always be a ‘why’?

Why so many ‘whys’?

Director Han looked helplessly at Zhou Yaming.

Zhou Yaming was also sowhat angry. He hadn’t even taken issue with the doubt surrounding if she really was Miss J, yet she was being disdainful?

He suspected Jiang Zhe was trying to negotiate so terms.

Thus, he spoke solemnly, “Jiang Zhe, do you have any questions? About the school or about ? If your creative ability is indeed excellent, I will do everything I can to secure your scholarship for you, making sure you won’t miss out. I guarantee your life in Beijing would be unaffected.”

Jiang Zhe’s patience had reached its limit, but still, she controlled herself, “I have no reservations. I already have a major I want to study, and I don’t want to go.”

This ti Zhou Yaming was truly angry. What attitude was this from Jiang Zhe?

She had a major she wanted to study? With her grades?

He let out a laugh that contained no humor, “Hah, Jiang Zhe, I’ve seen your grades, and you know what they are like too, which makes it hard to believe you are a student from THE top school.

You must understand that with such grades, you would need to put in the effort just to get into any outrageous university, let alone the universities in Beijing or nationally ranked ones.

With grades like yours, under normal recruitnt processes, there is no way we would admit you. I am considering your special talent, and I applied to the school to open a special recruitnt channel for you; that’s why you got this opportunity. What, you look down on such an opportunity? Where do you want to go then?”

He was so frustrated that he revealed Jiang Zhe’s grades and made it clear he disdained her.

In fact, from the mont Jiang Zhe walked in, every word he spoke carried a hint of scorn for her, or to put it another way, there were qualities about her that allowed him to temporarily overlook her flaws.

But deep down, he wasn’t fully prepared to accept her as his student.

His personal visit was more about a fear of missing out on opportunity and being outdone by colleagues than a genuine appreciation of Jiang Zhe’s talents.

Listening to his words, Jiang Zhe instead felt calm, looked up at him, and said, “Where I go is none of your concern; in any case, it won’t be to your school.”

“You!” Zhou Yaming never expected Jiang Zhe to turn his words around on him.

Director Han hurriedly intervened, speaking patiently to Jiang Zhe, “Jiang Zhe, Professor Zhou does have a point. Having an extra opportunity is a good thing for you, isn’t it? I really hope you can seize this chance.”

Zhou Yaming was huffing with anger and didn’t continue speaking.

As a professor who commanded everybody’s respect, even Xu Jin standing before him wouldn’t dare to defy him; who did Jiang Zhe think she was?

He considered himself widely admired, with countless students in both the entertainnt and literary world. When had he ever been treated with such disrespect?

Now, even if Jiang Zhe apologized on the spot, he wouldn’t want her as a student any longer!

While Director Han was still earnestly trying to persuade Jiang Zhe, Zhou Yaming had made up his mind, he would only accept Jiang Zhe’s apology, and there was no way he would accept her as a student!

“Thank you, Director Han, but I don’t want this opportunity,” Jiang Zhe distinguished between kindness and malice, and her tone towards Director Han was clearly much better.

After speaking, she glanced at the ti and said, “Director Han, I would like to go back to reading and solving problems.”

Director Han glanced at Zhou Yaming. Clearly, Zhou Yaming hadn’t expected Jiang Zhe to just leave like this!

Without a hint of apology, she wanted to leave!
