This place was supposed to be private, secluded, but what they were doing was reckless. Stannis had Jian Rui pressed against a tree, their mouths locked in a kiss that left no room for doubt. Yu Xi’s chest tightened. If Jian Ci saw this, if he realized what was happening... who knew what storm would follow?

He turned quickly, mind racing. They had to change direction. He had steer Jian Ci away from this place.

anwhile, Jian Ci was speaking with the attendant, oblivious. "What’s wrong?" he asked, noticing Yu Xi’s sudden shift.

The attendant bowed respectfully. "You left the psychic pool early, your highness. I just wanted you to know that you and your partner’s psychic powers lit up the chamber. You are a perfect match."

Jian Ci chuckled, baffled. "You must be mistaken. There must have been another couple who ca after us."

The older woman shook her head firmly. "There was no one else after your highness. We only have five guests today, and you were the only ones in the caves."

Jian Ci frowned, confusion written across his face. "But we are both espers," he said, sounding almost defensive.

The attendant’s eyes widened in surprise, but before she could respond, Yu Xi appeared at Jian Ci’s side, his tone brisk. "Ci, let’s go sowhere else. Are there other places to explore?"

Jian Ci blinked, still unsettled. "Yeah, sure. Give a second."

Yu Xi nodded, already walking the other way, his pace quick, his intent clear.

Jian Ci turned back to the attendant, offering a polite smile. "It’s not possible. Sorry you had to co all this way."

The attendant bowed in apology, and Jian Ci hurried to catch up with Yu Xi.

"Why did you change your mind, going that way?" Jian Ci asked, curious but not suspicious.

Yu Xi kept his voice even, his expression calm. "I felt there was nothing to see. Co on, let’s go."

Jian Ci accepted the answer without question. He led Yu Xi through the island’s winding paths, pointing out hidden groves, rare flowers, and scenic overlooks. His voice was animated, his excitent genuine, as though nothing unusual had happened at all.

Yu Xi listened, his tension easing with each step. Jian Ci was just as bright, eager and unguarded as usual. And for the first ti that day, Yu Xi felt at ease, knowing that things were still the sa between them.

After that vacation, Jian Ci felt as though his eyes had been opened to a whole new world. Coming to terms with his feelings for Yu Xi was like shedding a heavy weight he hadn’t realized he was carrying. The relief was quiet but profound, and though nothing between them had outwardly changed, Jian Ci knew sothing inside him had.

Well, there was one change. He was clingier than he had ever been. If Yu Xi had a tail, Jian Ci would have been it, following him everywhere, refusing to let distance settle between them. Jian Wei and Jian Rui noticed, of course. But when was anything ever right with Jian Ci? They chalked it up to him being on the verge of another episode so they didn’t read much into it.

But Jian Ci wasn’t unraveling. He was simply sticking close to Yu Xi because he couldn’t help himself. He wanted to be near the person he liked, to soak in his presence like sunlight.

Which was why, when Jian Ci woke up one morning and found Yu Xi gone, his chest tightened. He assud Yu Xi was in the training room, so he didn’t think much of it at first. He washed up, humming under his breath, and went to prepare breakfast for everyone.

By the ti the food was ready, the household gathered around the table, but Yu Xi wasn’t there. Jian Ci frowned, scanning the room. "Anyone know where Yu Xi is?"

Jian Wei shook his head. "No."

Xiaobao wiped her mouth delicately, her tone casual. "He probably went to see Grandpa."

Jian Ci’s heart gave a small, restless thump. He forced a smile, but inside, the thought of Yu Xi being sowhere without him gnawed at him. He had grown used to Yu Xi’s presence, and now, even a simple absence felt like a hollow space he couldn’t ignore.

Jian Ci suddenly realized that Jian Rui wasn’t around either. His brow furrowed as he asked, "Where is Rui-ge?"

Jian Wei didn’t even look up from his cup. "Probably at the office."

That answer didn’t sit right with Jian Ci. He went upstairs, his steps quick, and found his communicator resting neatly on its pedestal. Picking it up, he checked the ssages. As he expected, Yu Xi had left him a ssage: I am going sowhere. I will be back in two days max.

Jian Ci’s chest tightened. He knew Yu Xi hadn’t gone to see his grandfather. He had gone sowhere with Jian Rui. And just like before, Jian Ci had been excluded from the inner circle.

He sat down on the edge of his bed, staring at the communicator in his hands. Before, when he hadn’t understood his feelings for Yu Xi, he would have waited patiently, whining about it for two days until Yu Xi returned. But now... now he was worried. Worried about what Jian Rui was assigning Yu Xi to do.

It had always bothered him, but this ti it was unbearable. If Jian Rui wouldn’t involve him, then he would involve himself.

Jian Ci waited until Jian Wei went to take a shower. Then, moving silently, he slipped into his brother’s room. His fingers worked quickly, his mind sharp. He easily infiltrated Jian Wei’s communicator with ease.

Scrolling through the ssages between Jian Wei and Jian Rui, he found only trivial exchanges: reminders, small talk, nothing of substance. No ntion of Yu Xi. No ntion of where they had gone.

He knew his brothers too well to expect anything incriminating in their regular chat. He scrolled through the floating screen, eyes narrowing as he searched the list of apps. Then he saw it, an app he recognized imdiately. His lips curved into a smirk.

He tapped it open. Of course, it was encrypted but Jian Ci wasn’t deterred. He knew his brothers better than anyone. His fingers flew across the floating screen keys, typing in a twenty-five-character password that only soone in their family could guess. The screen flickered, then unlocked.

At the top were Jian Rui’s ssages.

That bastard’s son thinks he can go behind my back and renege on our agreent. We agreed on sixteen mill.

Jian Wei’s reply ca quickly: How much does he want now?

Fifty, Jian Rui shot back. And he’s trying to blackmail .

Jian Wei responded with cold disdain: It’s easier dealing with the older generation than their arrogant bastards.

A file transfer followed. Use this, Jian Wei wrote.

Jian Rui’s final ssage chilled Jian Ci’s blood: Can’t go, but I will ask Yu Xi.

Jian Ci’s jaw tightened as he initiated a copy of the files. The transfer bar crept forward, glowing faintly. Just then, he heard the shower sounds stop. His pulse spiked.

He forced himself to stay calm, watching the progress bar tick to completion. As soon as the transfer finished, Jian Ci locked the communicator, placing it back exactly where it had been.
