"Here, give your na and the city in which you lived on Earth," Kael said as he passed a wooden board with a paper clamped to it.
Ren filled in the information without asking anything. But he still wondered why they needed the na of the city?
As he handed the information sheet back, Kael took one glance at it before pointing to the lower corner of the page.
’Did I miss sothing?’ Ren focused on the part where Kael’s finger was pointing at and was astonished to find another question suddenly appear on the paper. Before he could voice out his thoughts, Kael spoke up.
"It’s a magic ink, it’s to assure you that the contents of it will not be disclosed to any other people except the head guard and higher officials in charge of players like ."
Realising this, Ren once again looked at the question, and sure enough, it was sothing personal that should not be disclosed.
It asked him about his special ability, be it in the form of skill, class, or bloodline. Wait...class?
Ren didn’t actually think that he would be the only one with a unique bloodline and his guess was correct. But he was wrong too about the fact that all players’ screens would be golden like his.
Either the denizens or the players, all had the sa blue status panel. But class? He hadn’t even seen a class option in his own status panel.
Deciding not to reveal his most valuable cheat, he only revealed about the first Chapter of his Oblivion series - Ash Manipulation as a skill.
Ren knew he couldn’t hide everything by lying completely. So he decided to hide his secrets with a mixture of truth and lies.
As Kael’s eyes swept through his ability description, a flicker of surprise crossed his face.
Looking at Ren, he didn’t know whether to call him lucky or blessed.
"Looks like you will be in my team due to your ability," Kael looked at him with a smile on his face. "This ability will be useless in cities if you couldn’t even find a mage to destroy the woods into tiny ashes and cinders. Though I have to say, you are quite the lucky one to find and this also explains the reason behind your weird eyes.
And from now on, you will stay with us."
Ren didn’t agree right away but instead posed a sudden question which was within Kael’s expectations.
"Uhm, what’s a class?" Ren was quite sure he hadn’t heard about class from Evan or the rest. That ant it wasn’t sothing given to the survivors based on their origin. Hence he assud it okay to ask about it.
"So you still haven’t crossed level twenty. Well, there are only a handful of us who did and since you awakened a special skill, it makes much more sense that you don’t know about it." And then Kael started to explain about the class in detail.
After hearing everything, Ren nodded his head and simply declined his offer to stay with them but he still agreed to hunt the vermyrexs with Kael nonetheless.
’Why haven’t I awakened my class? Is my bloodline sohow responsible for it?’
Ren too had crossed the twenty-level mark just like the other players who had gained a class, but he didn’t receive anything.
Well, he actually did, but only a new skill which he still didn’t know the use for.
So why didn’t he gain a class? Nonetheless, with his bloodline helping him, Ren wasn’t too worried about it.
"And what’s with those who gained a class as their special power? Do they get dual classes after they cross level twenty or do the classes rge into one?’ Ren kept wondering as he reached back to the training hall, and once again felt the difference between the two training places. It was worlds apart.
Ronan and Caleb who were sparring with each other stopped imdiately, giving Ronan a breather as he was on the verge of losing, which he never accepted even once despite losing multiple tis against Caleb.
Selene and the rest of them gathered around him and Ren started to explain about what had happened but skipped his skill ability as Kael had strictly told him not to tell about it to anyone else.
’It’s not like he himself knows the truth.’ And Ren hadn’t forgotten about the ntion of the word bloodline in the question.
This only ant that he wasn’t the sole bearer of a bloodline and the existence of multiple people with powerful skills like his was also a possibility.
As Ren’s explanation reached about the topic of class, Selene’s fingers fidgeted around the hem of her dress but she didn’t say anything. It went unnoticed by the others too.
The group took a second for the implications to settle before Evan said, "I have also received so rough idea about the city and so lead on that shrewd-looking guy we saw earlier."
Everyone’s attention snapped to Evan the second he stopped.
A bead of invisible sweat dripped from Evan’s head as he gulped. He didn’t know why he felt a slight fear when everyone looked at him simultaneously. Not knowing that it was Selene’s gaze that was focused on him without so much as a blink.
"It’s not so detailed information. I only received two pieces of information. First, the head captain of the city guards is the one managing this place and apparently, he is also the strongest person here.
Second, there are three factions of survivors in this city for now. Aside from this guard faction, there’s also a faction ford by the cathedral or the church. Its basically a group of fanatics who believe this apocalypse is a test crafted by the gods."
Evan took a deep breath as he said the information in one go.
"Wait, what about the third faction?"
Evan nodded and continued to explain, "That’s where the shrewd-looking man cos from. They are a group of rogues and smugglers. And I also heard so rumors saying their leader might be as strong as the city-captain who manages this defense base himself."
