The screen hovering above the stage flickered, its bright lights drawing everyone's attention. The next matchup appeared, displayed in bold letters:

**Lira vs. Vale.**

Excitent rippled through the crowd as the nas were revealed. Lira was known throughout the academy for her mastery of the spear. Her movents were fluid, her strikes precise, and she wielded her weapon with a grace that made her seem like one with the spear itself. Across the arena, Vale was no less impressive, though his talents lay in magic.

His short wand, carved from ancient wood and inscribed with arcane symbols, was known to summon powerful spells with speed and precision.

The two opponents ascended the stage, their expressions focused and calm. Lira twirled her spear in a quick flourish, the polished tal gleaming under the light. She wore a look of quiet determination, her entire body poised for battle. Vale, on the other hand, gripped his wand with a calm confidence, his eyes flashing with intelligence as he murmured a soft incantation under his breath.

The referee stepped forward, raising his hand. "Begin!"

Lira darted forward with blinding speed, her spear a blur of silver as she lunged at Vale. The boy was quick to react, flicking his wand in a sharp motion that conjured a barrier of shimring energy just in ti to deflect Lira's initial strike. Sparks flew as the spear clashed against the magical shield, and the force of the impact sent a gust of wind rippling through the arena.

Undeterred, Lira shifted her stance and launched into a series of rapid thrusts and sweeping strikes, her spear spinning in graceful arcs. Each movent was executed with impeccable precision, her attacks relentless as she pushed Vale further back across the stage.

Vale, however, remained composed. His wand flared with magic as he conjured various defensive spells, blocking Lira's strikes with magical barriers and countering with bolts of energy. For a brief mont, it seed as if the fight was evenly matched, with Vale's magic keeping Lira's spear at bay.

But as the duel wore on, it beca clear that Lira's mastery over her spear was unmatched. With every strike, she chipped away at Vale's defenses, her movents becoming more aggressive and unpredictable. Her footwork was impeccable, allowing her to evade Vale's spells with ease.

She moved like a dancer, each step calculated and precise, her spear flowing through the air like an extension of her body.

With a sudden burst of energy, Lira closed the distance between them, her spear slicing through the last of Vale's magical barriers. Vale's eyes widened in surprise as Lira's spear shot forward, stopping just inches from his chest.

For a mont, the two stood frozen on the stage, Lira's spear poised to strike and Vale breathing heavily, his wand still glowing faintly with magic. The crowd held its breath, waiting for the outco.

With a soft exhale, Vale lowered his wand in surrender. He knew he had been outmatched. The crowd erupted into cheers as Lira pulled back her spear, a satisfied smile on her face.

She bowed slightly to Vale, who nodded in return, acknowledging her skill.

"Lira wins!" the referee declared, raising his hand to signal the end of the duel.

The coliseum echoed with the sound of applause, the spectators impressed by Lira's performance. Her mastery over her spear had been nothing short of spectacular, and her ability to handle Vale's magic with such grace and precision had won over the crowd.

As she stepped off the stage, Lira glanced over at the other participants, her eyes eting Kaelen's for a brief mont. He gave her a nod of respect, recognizing the incredible talent she had displayed.

Sofia, standing nearby, also watched Lira with admiration. "She's incredible with that spear," Sofia muttered to Kaelen.

Kaelen nodded in agreent. "Her control and precision are impressive. She deserves the win."

"With the way this tournant is going, it seems like you are facing her in the semi-finals. Are you up for it?" Sofia teased as she nudged Kaelen a little.

"Let remind you that I am up for anything that cos my way" Kaelen replied with a confident smile on his face. But when Sofia heard him along with seeing the expression on Kaelen's face, she couldn't help but roll her eyes.

But as Lira walked past, she didn't appear to notice the admiration she had garnered. Her focus remained ahead, her mind already preparing for the next challenge that awaited her in the tournant.

The air in the VIP lounge had been heavy with anticipation, but now there was a shift—a shadow that moved through the space as Vlahiç, the Fleeting Spear, slipped back into the room with a grave expression. His usually calm deanor had given way to sothing far more urgent, and he moved directly toward the Vice Chancellor, who had been watching the tournant unfold below with silent intensity.

"Vice Chancellor," Vlahiç whispered, his voice low but sharp. The Vice Chancellor turned slightly, catching the tension in Vlahiç's expression. "I have news. Julian… he's not who he seems."

The Vice Chancellor raised an eyebrow but remained composed. "Go on."

Vlahiç leaned closer, careful to ensure none of the other pillars overheard them. "Julian is a spy from the Valen Military Academy. He was planted here to observe, infiltrate, and potentially disrupt the Pacesetters Academy's progress."

The Vice Chancellor's eyes narrowed. "Are you certain of this?"

"I've confird it with a reliable source," Vlahiç replied grimly. "He's been gathering information on our students, on our training thods… likely feeding it back to the Valen Academy."

The Vice Chancellor's face darkened. He had suspected sothing was off about Julian—his sudden rise in skill, his enigmatic background—but this confirmation struck a deep chord of anger within him. To think that Valen Military Academy would resort to such treachery, even during an honorable tournant...

"Shall we remove him?" Vlahiç asked, his hand hovering near his spear. He was ready to take action imdiately if the Vice Chancellor gave the word.

But the Vice Chancellor shook his head, surprising Vlahiç. "No," he said quietly. "Not yet. Ending the tournant because of him would be admitting weakness, and we cannot show any vulnerability to the Valen Military Academy. We will let the tournant continue as planned."

Vlahiç frowned but nodded, understanding the Vice Chancellor's reasoning. It would be a greater victory to defeat Julian and his overseers within the bounds of the tournant, showing the superiority of the Pacesetters Academy without having to resort to forceful intervention.

"What do we do then?" Vlahiç asked, his voice tinged with frustration.

The Vice Chancellor's eyes glead with resolve. "Let him think his cover remains intact. We will monitor him closely, but for now, let him play his part. The real challenge will be defeating him and proving the superiority of our students. This will be a ssage to the Valen Military Academy: they cannot defeat us, not through subterfuge or combat."

A cold smile ford on Vlahiç's lips. "Understood. But we should confront their Headmaster directly. Show them we know their gas."

The Vice Chancellor nodded. "Send for General Cao. He will handle this confrontation."

Within monts, Vlahiç dispatched a ssage to General Cao. The General arrived swiftly at their side which confused the other pillars of the academy, but the Vice Chancellor removed their doubts by telling them it was nothing serious. He listened to the Vice Chancellor and Vlahiç's briefing, his brow furrowing slightly at the ntion of Julian's true identity. However, his expression remained calm.

"I will et with the Headmaster of the Valen Military Academy," General Cao stated with cold authority. "But I will not be goaded into losing my temper. We must remain tactful. We will make it clear that we know what they have done, but we will also show them that it changes nothing. The tournant will continue, and their spy will not succeed."

The Vice Chancellor gave a nod of approval. "Go. Let them know that we are not fools, and that the strength of Pacesetters Academy will never be shaken by their tactics."

With a curt nod, General Cao departed, making his way toward the opposing VIP lounge where the Headmaster of Valen Military Academy and their military prodigy had taken residence.

As he approached the ornate door, General Cao took a breath, steeling himself for the confrontation to co. The tension was palpable, but he knew that in this delicate ga of power and influence, it wasn't just brute strength that mattered—it was the ability to maintain control, even when facing deceit.

General Cao's eyes narrowed as he entered the room. It was ti to remind Valen Military Academy who they were dealing with.

As the tense conversation continued in the VIP lounge between the Vice Chancellor and Vlahiç, the atmosphere around them crackled with the weight of their decision-making. The gravity of the situation was palpable; they were dealing not only with a potential spy but also with the reputation of their academy. Each move had to be calculated, precise, and unyielding.

The Vice Chancellor leaned over the table, his fingers tapping rhythmically on the polished surface. "We need to expose Julian at the right mont, make it clear we know what Valen is up to without disrupting the integrity of the tournant. General, your eting with their Headmaster is crucial. We cannot let this fester."

Vlahiç nodded as he added, "He's dangerous, no doubt about that. But we'll make sure that our competitors know how to deal with him—especially Sofia and Kaelen. They've already shown trendous promise."

As if the universe itself was listening in on their conversation, the mood in the coliseum shifted. A soft hum began to spread across the arena, drawing the attention of everyone inside. The energy of the crowd grew restless, and the participants looked up as a low whirring sound emanated from the center of the arena.

The massive screen, suspended above the stage, flickered to life. Thousands of eyes focused on it, watching intently as the next phase of the tournant was about to be revealed. The bold letters glowed in radiant hues as the matchup for the first semi-final was displayed.

SOFIA VS. JULIAN

The entire coliseum held its breath.

The Vice Chancellor's eyes snapped to the screen, his expression unreadable. Julian, the very spy they had just discussed, would face Sofia—the academy's uprising pride and shining talent.

Vlahiç crossed his arms, his face unreadable. "Fitting," he muttered. "We'll see if Julian's skill can match Sofia's resolve. This might be our best opportunity to gauge what he's truly capable of."

The Vice Chancellor remained silent for a mont, then spoke gravely. "Sofia must be careful. Julian has hidden his intentions and his background well. He will not hold back in this fight. It's up to us to ensure that she's aware of the danger she's walking into."

The Vice Chancellor's lips pressed into a thin line. "We cannot intervene directly. This is her fight. But we must remain vigilant. This could be the tipping point we need."

In the arena, Sofia stood tall amidst the murmurs of the crowd. Her eyes flicked up to the screen, her jaw tightening when she saw her opponent's na. Julian. A mysterious figure who had already proven himself dangerous.

Across the coliseum, Julian gazed up at the sa screen, his expression unflinching. He turned slowly toward Sofia, his eyes sharp with focus and purpose. The atmosphere between them crackled with unspoken tension.

The Vice Chancellor and Vlahiç exchanged a knowing look.

"This battle," the Vice Chancellor said quietly, "might just determine more than who reaches the finals. It may decide the course of this entire tournant—and reveal the depths of Valen's sches."

As the crowd began to stir with excitent and anticipation, both Sofia and Julian made their way to the preparation area, their thoughts undoubtedly centered on the upcoming duel. The tension in the air was palpable, a feeling of destiny about to be decided.
