“What happened? Are you feeling unwell?”
Alfred tugs at my arm on the table. I obediently, or rather helplessly, fall onto Alfred’s front.
I nod in response, excessive relief washing over . However, my stomach still feels queasy. I shouldn’t have drunk that champagne.
“What do you want to do? Do you want to return to your room?”
I nod once again. “Yes…”
I really don’t want to stay here. The nurous loud voices in the venue, as well as the many strangers coming up to speak to , have drained all my energy.
On the other hand, this guy looks so happy as he converses with other people. What’s with that? I thought that standing alone by the wall would bore him, so I felt guilty and worried. I even thought of bringing him so food or drink later on. But now, he’s looking like that? Seems like my worries were unfounded, damn it.
“I want to return to my room.”
“You want to go ho?”
“Uh huh.”
Yes, I want to go ho. I don’t want to stay here any longer. This party isn’t fun at all, just tiring.
“Got it.”
Is it just my imagination, or is there a hint of laughter in his voice? But why is he laughing?
Mustering my remaining strength, I bow to the bespectacled captain and the tired-looking vice captain.
“Excuse . I don’t feel well, so I will return to my room now…”
“Ah, yes. Please take care,” says the bespectacled captain, shooting Alfred a strange look.
anwhile, the tired-looking vice captain reddens again. “O-ohh. Please take care…”
I don’t understand what makes the vice captain flush red every ti. At all. Maybe it’s just like the bespectacled captain said? That he’s a sensitive, pure youth? Though he seems to be a little too sensitive…
I leave the venue with Alfred holding my hand all the way.
Once we step into the hallway, our surroundings beco much emptier, as if the amount of people inside the venue is but an illusion. The air also feels slightly cooler.
Then all of a sudden, my legs turn to jelly and fold underneath .
In a flash, Alfred grabs my arm and pulls up, seeming to be in a panic. Maybe he thinks I will faint. “Hey, are you okay?”
“Yeah.”
Despite my reassurance, Alfred heaves a small sigh in astonishnt. He places his arms on my sides to support and lifts my entire body.
My feet leave the floor by a few centiters. Not having to support my weight, my feet feel light. Instinctively, I swing my legs. Ah, it’s like I’m dreamwalking. Well, that’s probably because of the incredibly fluffy carpet.
I can also feel Alfred’s warmth, even with our clothes between us.
Sohow, that brings a bit of comfort.
Then three won in dresses pass by us, happily chatting with each other.
“That ans you’re in love, you know?”
Whoever said that said it loudly. Surprised, I turn my head. It seems one of the two won sandwiching a petite woman said that. Their attentions are focused on her.
The petite woman looks up at them, face flushed and embarrassed. She tilts her head and softly says, “I wonder if that’s it?”
“It definitely is!” the other woman responds, full of confidence. “You’re just too much of a blockhead! That’s why you haven’t realized it yourself!”
The eyes of the petite woman brighten with amazent.
“Lian? What happened?”
“Huh? Ah, it’s nothing…”
“It’s not nothing? You’re staggering.”
“That’s not—”
—true. Or so I want to say. But before I can, he pulls at my arm, causing to fall onto his body.
Alfred always perfectly maintains his balance whenever I bump or lean onto him, and this never fails to irritate . Though I do feel happy to know how much he has grown… As I thought so… I grow a little angry.
He has beco too tall. Share your height with already. Even just a little bit.
My cheek rests against his chest. With the close proximity, I can sll the warm scent of the sun.
The hands on my waist are also warm.
Since everyone is still at the party, only we’re alone.
…Only Alfred and I.
This fact finally hits at this mont. Overco with nervousness, I stiffen and breathe out a shaky sigh.
