At four in the afternoon, Naoki successfully reached the first observation station.
Unexpectedly, he didn’t encounter any danger along the way, nor were there terrifying paradox Pokémon everywhere like in the ga.
On the contrary, the upper layer of the Giant Pit gave him a sense of tranquility and beauty, not much different from the outside world.
Pokémon like Hoppip, Girafarig, Frosmoth, Talonfla, and Raichu live leisurely here.
Especially near the observation station, this building covered with climbing ivy sits below a hillside, with hardly any wild Pokémon visible nearby.
Perhaps, as Professor Sada said, the location of the observation station was designed as a safe zone after careful investigation.
Opening the door of the observation station, the layout here is extrely simple, the room is hexagonal in structure, with unused building materials on either side of the entrance, and a thick conduit for energy transmission standing in the innermost position.
The wall is pasted with the working schedule of the research personnel, and a solitary single bed is placed in the corner, judging by the dust on it, it appears that no one has visited for a long ti.
In such an environnt, Naoki was not surprised, he placed his backpack down, prepared for a brief rest, and then planned to go outside and observe the nearby Pokémon ecology.
But at that mont, the communication device inside the observation station suddenly rang.
Naoki went forward to connect, and heard Professor Sada’s voice co from it.
"...Is that Naoki?"
"It’s , Professor."
"I figured, I saw the notification of the observation station being used and knew it was you, seems like you’ve safely reached the inside of the Giant Pit! How is it? Has everything gone smoothly?" Professor Sada asked.
"I’ve not encountered any danger yet." Naoki thought for a mont, and asked: "By the way, Professor, aren’t there Paradox Pokémon near the first observation station? I haven’t seen a single Paradox Pokémon along the way."
Upon hearing his words, Professor Sada’s tone carried a hint of amusent: "So you’re here for those Paradox Pokémon, huh? Seems like you really like them, Turo and I are very pleased."
"However, I suppose those Paradox Pokémon are hiding in inconspicuous places at this ti?"
"Their living environnt is from the distant ancient past, with vastly different living habits compared to modern Pokémon, so Paradox Pokémon prefer to be active at night. Perhaps when it gets dark, you’ll be able to see them."
"I see..." Naoki nodded thoughtfully: "I got it, thank you very much, Professor Sada."
Professor Sada: "After traveling all day, you must be tired, right? I won’t disturb your rest then. I’m looking forward to which Paradox Pokémon you’ll capture, bring it to the lab for us to see!"
"Alright."
After the communication ended, Naoki released Dragonite and Pawmot from the Poke Ball.
He said to a few Pokémon: "You can go play outside for a while, but don’t run too far."
Having co to this place for the first ti, the two Pokémon couldn’t help but feel curious.
So with permission granted, they imdiately ran outside.
Seeing this, Naoki felt a bit uneasy, afraid these two flyers would run wild everywhere, so he sent Koraidon to watch over them.
The three Pokémon left, leaving Naoki alone at the research station to organize the items he had brought.
First were the essential pot and ingredients, which Naoki took out from his travel backpack and placed aside, readying to cook a simple dinner later.
Then there were so clothes for changing and several empty red and white balls, along with so basic observation tools.
Like a compass for direction and a telescope for viewing distances, among others.
These were especially prepared by him for this trip.
Once everything was organized, Naoki began preparing tonight’s dinner.
Traveling outside made everything inconvenient, so for dinner he chose the simple yet nutritious sandwich.
At this ti, the three Pokémon returned to the observation station, drawn by the sll.
Naoki looked at them and asked, "Any discoveries?"
Pawmot’s eyes sparkled: "Pawmo, Pawmo Pawmo!" This place is beautiful!
Dragonite wore an eager expression, sensing several strong presences nearby—surely powerful Pokémon reside here!
Koraidon felt it too, deliberately releasing so aura to prevent them from recklessly approaching.
The Pokémon kept chattering away, and while listening, Naoki passed the sandwiches over.
Using their claws, they grabbed the sandwiches, devouring them in large bites, displaying a blissful expression.
After dinner, the outside sky gradually turned dark.
The Giant Pit at night was silent, occasionally accompanied by rustling sounds emanating from unknown places.
Unable to sleep, Naoki took his telescope and went outside the observation station to search for the Paradox Pokémon Professor Sada ntioned, which appear during the night.
Today’s weather was excellent, even at night, visibility remained very high.
An orb-like moon hung in the night sky, its soft moonlight cascading through the clouds, enveloping the Paldea Giant Pit in a veil of mist.
Koraidon and other Pokémon guarded beside Naoki.
Naoki’s gaze reached far through the telescope, slowly moving it, and the cliff view opposite unfolded like a painting before him.
"Are those Phanpy and Donphan? They look quite cute sleeping under the rocks."
"As expected, Corviknight is out and about, the actual Corviknight looks really cool!"
"Hey? Is that Deino? A pseudo-legendary Pokemon from the Unova Region! What’s it doing?"
Through the telescope, the Deino briskly erged from the cave behind it, lowering its head as it sniffed all around, occasionally biting the grass on the ground, then spitting it out with a "phew phew."
"A Deino with the Sap Sipper Ability, huh!"
Naoki was amused by this scene.
Deino is quite rare, evolved Hydreigon being both powerful and fierce, maybe he should consider raising one?
Naoki fell into contemplation.
And just then, through the telescope, he noticed sothing strange suddenly appear near the Deino.
The Donphan and Phanpy resting nearby suddenly and hastily awakened, turning around and scattering away.
Deino, too, seed to sense so terrifying presence, suddenly becoming alard and attempting to flee.
But before it managed a few steps, a shadowy black silhouette eclipsed over it.
Naoki was montarily stunned, then shifted his view upward, where he saw a rapidly zooming crimson figure.
Enormous body, crimson eyes, nacing claws, and a pair of fully spread wings behind, casting a vast shadow like a blood-red moon.
Suddenly, a peculiar roar echoed throughout the valley.
The brutal Pokémon swooped down towards Deino viciously, hunting and devouring the Deino below.
Under the moonlight, Roaring Moon’s bloodstained ivory fangs appeared exceptionally terrifying.
It was engaging in the most primitive hunting and feeding!
"Damn!"
Naoki widened his eyes, feeling his worldview collapse as his heart pounded.
"Is this a Paradox Pokémon?"
At this mont, Naoki roughly understood the aning behind the words from the ga by Ai the researcher, "The exuberant life force of Paradox Pokémon will ruin the modern ecosystem."
With savage Pokémon like Roaring Moon, should they venture outside the Giant Pit, Naoki couldn’t dare to imagine what could happen!
