“There were so many things I wanted to do in this new world…”

Looking back now, it was a life full of regrets.

A world where monsters and magic exist, like in fantasy movies.

Choi Hyun-seok wanted to have heart-pounding adventures.

And also experiences romance that he couldn’t have on Earth.

Suddenly, he rembers when he first t Rachel.

Her sweet words of persuasion…

‘Wealth! Honor! A grand adventure to win beautiful won!’

‘Hero, you just need to choose. A devoted love focused on one woman? Or a harem kingdom commanding the continent’s most beautiful won? A hero can do anything!’

Now he knows those were nonsensical lies.

A hero can do anything.

If Rachel were in front of him right now, he’d want to give her a knock on the head.

‘Just thinking about it makes angry again.’

To be honest, at the ti he was genuinely tempted by her words.

Because he really wanted to live that kind of life.

It was the sa when he fell into the Demon King’s fortress.

Even in the most desperate situations, Choi Hyun-seok never gave up on his dreams.

“I thought I’d at least have a sweet romance with a blonde beauty. Have lots of rabbit-like kids too. In my old age, I planned to die watching my grandchildren running around in a mansion.”

Words he used to say habitually.

At so point, Choi Hyun-seok stopped saying these words.

Because he realized it was an unattainable dream.

He had been unknowingly letting go of his dreams.

And before he knew it, he had completely given up.

“Adventure, romance, marriage, retirent plans. I haven’t properly done any of them…”

Choi Hyun-seok smiled bitterly.

Although he ended up becoming the hero who saved the world.

It left a bitter taste that he couldn’t achieve any of the things he really wanted to do.

That’s when X spoke to him.

-Since you’ve beco a transcendent being, those things you ntioned aren’t necessary. You’ll live as a different being in a different dinsion from current humans.

“Are you trying to comfort with that?”

-Yes. You’ve beco a higher-dinsional being. Aren’t you happy?

X’s voice was calm.

It seed like genuine thoughts rather than mockery.

“Haah…”

Choi Hyun-seok let out a deep sigh.

To call that sort of thing comfort.

Saying I should be happy about becoming a higher-dinsional being?

What am I supposed to do with that?

He was born human and lived as a human.

How could he be happy when he’s about to leave this world without achieving any of his human desires?

“I’m even still single…!”

As he said it, anger welled up inside him.

To think he’d have to leave after only suffering in this other world without enjoying anything.

It was unacceptable.

Transcendent being?

He never once thought about wanting to beco such a grand existence.

Choi Hyun-seok only wanted (modest?) things.

-Choi Hyun-seok. You seem to have so complaints.

“It’s not just so! I have many!”

-If you tell what you want, I’ll grant it.

“You’ll grant my wish?”

-If it’s sothing I can do. I’ll disappear after this conversation anyway, so feel free to speak comfortably.

X’s sudden declaration of disappearance.

Choi Hyun-seok asked back with a puzzled expression.

“What do you an disappear?”

-I’ve realized my existence doesn’t help human happiness. So when I self-destruct, I’ll take asures to ensure no being like appears again.

X was created for human happiness.

However, that power almost led to the extinction of all humans.

The aning of existence. Its foundation had beco twisted.

So it seed X planned to self-destruct after taking precautions to prevent a second X from appearing.

-Since I’ll disappear anyway, I’ll use all my power to grant your request.

“Is that so…”

The corners of Choi Hyun-seok’s mouth turned up.

Make a wish!

Actually, his wish had been decided from the start.

Though he wasn’t sure if it would work or not.

If X was going that far, there must be a possibility.

“X. I’ve decided what I want to do.”

***

After making his final wish, the conversation with X ended.

Choi Hyun-seok returned to reality and was transferred to an unknown forest.

“Aah…”

In the peaceful forest.

Feeling the fresh breeze, Choi Hyun-seok smiled.

“Freedom… Freedom… Liberation…!”

Choi Hyun-seok’s face was happiness itself.

What kind of wish did he make to be this happy?

The wish was simple.

“I don’t need to be a transcendent being or whatever, just turn back into a human.”

Becoming human again.

And thus, having heart-pounding adventures.

-Won’t you regret it? Once you return to being human, you can never beco a transcendent being again.

“I told you I don’t need it.”

In the end, Choi Hyun-seok’s wish was granted.

He beca human again.

And fell into this forest.

All alone.

“Hehehe…! Now that the annoying baggage is gone too, ti to enjoy a proper adventure!”

Choi Hyun-seok said with a devious smile.

The annoying baggage he ntioned referred to Rachel.

“You’ll remove that fairy or demon or whatever, right?”

-If that’s what you want.

“Great!”

He had suffered so much because of Rachel until now.

Being stuck together 24 hours a day made him feel like he was always being watched.

“She’s always chattering away whenever I try to do anything!”

Whenever he tried to talk to a woman while walking, she would grumble and make a fuss about a hero’s duty.

There was no way he could have the adventure(?) he wanted.

“I want to enjoy a wild adventure too!”

Alcohol! Won! Wealth and glory!

A wildlife true to desires!

This ti he would have an adventure steeped in pleasure!

“Ti to enjoy life! A happy otherworld life!”

Two lives.

Zero romance experience.

He just couldn’t leave feeling this frustrated.

He wasn’t impotent.

He was a healthy adult male.

He would have a sweet romance like everyone else, go on healing adventures, and later build a happy family and live until his kids scribbled on the walls before closing his eyes.

“Now that hero duties are over. I can really live comfortably.”

He threw away the heavy hero title.

More precisely, it disappeared forcibly when X vanished.

“The status window really won’t open anymore.”

The hero system implented by X’s power seed to have naturally disappeared when he vanished.

‘It’s a sha the inventory is gone.’

Everything else was fine, but he did miss the inventory.

It was clearly a convenient feature in many ways.

Still, he thought it wasn’t necessarily bad since part of travel’s charm cos from inconvenience.

“Good. I still have mana left.”

When he observed inside his body, he could feel quite a lot of mana.

While not enough to be legendary, it was enough to rank among the upper tier of heroes.

“Physical condition…”

Choi Hyun-seok raised his fist and hit a nearby tree.

He used pure physical strength without mana.

Bang-!

The fairly thick tree shook violently and slowly fell.

“This much is enough.”

It seed only the power he achieved purely on his own remained, excluding the power-assisted by the system.

While not even a quarter of the strength he had in the final battle, this much was enough to enjoy traveling.

If it’s not enough, he could always grow stronger going forward.

Since he had walked this path once before, he could find his way without much difficulty.

“Phew, should I rest first?”

Before setting off on his journey.

Choi Hyun-seok decided to first take the rest he couldn’t have before.

Since there was plenty of ti, he planned to move at a leisurely pace.

“The continent will be chaotic for a while anyway. It might take years to stabilize.”

The continent was completely overturned by the Empire’s Sacrifice.

Almost all kingdoms collapsed, and too many people died.

It would take quite so ti just to regain moderate stability.

Until then, he wanted to travel around leisurely and take a comfortable rest.

“Should I say hello to older sister…? No. Getting involved by eting her would be troubleso. Let’s just rest like this!”

Choi Hyun-seok sprawled out on a wide rock.

His mood naturally improved as the sunlight fell through the leaves.

How long had he been lying there?

Suddenly, a woman’s voice pierced his ear.

“Ta-da~!”

His first thought was ‘Am I dreaming?’

After all, it was a voice he should never hear.

‘That’s impossible…’

He had definitely taken care of Rachel by telling X.

So this must be a dream.

It was clearly a terrible nightmare.

“Ta-da~”

“…”

“Ta-daa~!”

“…”

“Ta-daaa!!!”

Anxiety overwhelms him.

Choi Hyun-seok desperately squeezed his eyes shut.

‘This is a dream. Wake up! Please…!’

He prays to escape this nightmare soon, but it’s no use.

“Hero! Stop pretending to be sleeping!”

“…”

“Hero hero hero!”

Rachel shook Choi Hyun-seok’s body.

Rolling around on the rock, Choi Hyun-seok thought.

‘Huh… Why is she so big…?’

Originally Rachel was only about 30cm tall, so when she pushed him it didn’t even tickle.

But now, the hands pushing his body were no different from those of a normal person.

‘So it is a dream.’

Choi Hyun-seok gritted his teeth and denied reality.

He absolutely refused to consider the possibility that Rachel had beco human.

“Heroooo!”

That’s when her elbow dug into his abdon.

“Kuhek!”

Choi Hyun-seok coughed with his eyes wide open.

“What the hell are you doing!?”

“Hehe, that’s because you kept ignoring , Hero.”

Said the blonde beauty.

About 170cm tall.

Her wings were gone sowhere, and Rachel in ordinary travel clothes was grinning broadly.

“What are you?”

“What do you an what am I? I’m Rachel!”

“What’s with that appearance!?”

“About that… Hehe!”

Rachel twisted her body as if embarrassed about sothing.

“God said he’d grant one wish, you know?”

“And?”

“I asked to be made human!”

“Why!?”

“I have to assist you, hero! They said I couldn’t be a dedicated fairy anymore, so I thought, why not beco human and serve you! What do you think? I’m really smart, right!?”

Rachel’s eyes sparkled brightly.

They were the eyes of a child seeking praise.

Choi Hyun-seok lowered his head with a look of despair.

“Why on earth would you do such a thing…”

“Who else but Rachel would assist you, hero!”

Rachel still seed unable to read the atmosphere.

She struck a proud pose with her hands on her hips and chest puffed out.

Choi Hyun-seok raised his hand and pinched his cheek.

“It hurts…”

It wasn’t a dream.

He had hoped it was a terrible nightmare.

But it was reality.

“Hero! Our adventure is just beginning!”

“Ah…”

“Isn’t it so exciting! I’ve actually wanted to beco human for a long ti! Now I can stick right by your side and help you!”

“Please…”

“Look! I might not fight much but I’m really good at fighting!”

Rachel clenched her fists and swung at the air.

“Swoosh! This isn’t just a sound from my mouth! It’s the sound of cutting through the wind! Swish swoosh!”

Rachel fought the air with a serious expression.

Choi Hyun-seok was still hanging his head with a miserable expression.

“My wild adventure… My healing otherworld life…”

“Huh? What did you say?”

“This won’t do!”

Choi Hyun-seok jumped up and straightened his clothes.

“Hero…?”

Choi Hyun-seok suddenly started sprinting through the forest.

“H-Hero! Let’s go together! Hero!”

“Don’t follow !”

Leaving Rachel who was following behind, Choi Hyun-seok ran desperately.

“Hero! I’ll assist you for life, I said!”

“I don’t need it! Go away!”

“Heroooo!”

And so began the adventure of forr hero Choi Hyun-seok and his assistant(?) Rachel.

- The End-

Author’s Note.

Hello.

This is writer Han So.

I’m greeting you like this to commorate the completion of the eventful ‘There Are No Bad Heroes’.

Thank you so much for following along with the story of the problematic hero Choi Hyun-seok all this ti.

*Bow*-

I bowed 90 degrees in reality, but I’m not sure how well my gratitude was conveyed through the screen. Haha.

Well, now that the thanks are done!

From now on, I want to tell a story that might be a bit boring.

Feel free to click back if you’re not interested, but since we’ve co this far together, please stay a bit longer…;->

‘There Are No Bad Heroes’, I’ll abbreviate it as TNBH.

TNBH is my second novel.

Unlike my first when I wrote without knowing anything, this ti I wanted to show readers a more entertaining and polished novel.

That was certainly my intention, but reality fell far short, and I’m sorry and regretful about that ㅠㅠ

Um… My motivation for writing TNBH was really simple.

“Ah! I want to write an otherworld hero story… It would be fun if they accidentally fell into the Demon King’s Army and suffered terribly!”

With that simple idea plus the pressure of a bank account heading toward minus, I grabbed my keyboard.

And then, hell broke loose.

Outrageous developnt!

It was really hell when the story kept going without knowing what would happen next.

Especially the early parts were really…

Even I had no idea what content would co in the next chapter while writing the novel.

“Is this okay? I don’t know. It seems fun so let’s just do it! Hahaha!”

Haha, ha… Haah…

Thinking back, I wasn’t in my right mind.

Combined with my laziness, it added the setting of ‘daily live serialization without stockpiling’.

What an extre situation!

Quality? Build-up?

I think I just put everything into continuing the serialization without missing updates.

Still, I’m grateful to all the readers who always encouraged saying it was fun and stayed with until now.

This is what I think.

A good ending.

Showing a happy ending is a courtesy.

After spending so much ti together, I think ending with an unsatisfying conclusion is a kind of betrayal.

This is just my personal opinion!

Anyway, following that thought, I wanted to tie up the ending as well as possible.

But due to my shortcomings, I feel there’s much to be desired.

Next ti I’ll return as a more improved writer…

I’ve rambled on quite a bit as I wrote.

Please understand even if it seems disorganized like my novel.

Actually, I’m still under deadline pressure even now! Haha…;

I’ve already gone well past the scheduled deadline.

If I delay any longer, I’ll get reminder emails, so I should stop here.

Finally, I thank the readers once again.

What aning would a novel have without readers?

It’s because there are readers that there are writers, right?

And I also thank my fellow writer acquaintances and Ace dia staff who helped with the writing.

I must have made you very anxious by sending manuscripts at the last minute every day.

Sohow we made it to the end. Haha…

Ah! Now I’ll really end it.

Sohow this turned into sothing like an acceptance speech;;

It’s because I’m grateful… Yes…

Next ti I’ll return with a much more interesting story.

Everyone stay healthy and happy!!!
