Lawrence's investigation still needed so ti.

Dean directly used his financial power to transfer Harry to the best hospital in Los Angeles, while having Robert and a few others take turns as Keepers. Once Harry woke up, they would imdiately move him.

Too many cooks spoil the broth.

For this operation, besides Lawrence, Dean didn't plan to involve anyone else from the Fourth Squad.

During this interval, accompanied by Niel, Dean took a few days off to rest properly.

One day, after they had been intimate, a flushed Niel pushed away Ty Dean, who still wanted to continue. She tossed him a platinum credit card and complained, "Dean, as an adult, you should learn so self-control! You've made fall behind on my work!"

What the...? Dean thought. Changing your tune now that you're satisfied? That wasn't your attitude when you were riding hard just monts ago!

But Niel didn't give Dean a chance to continue showing off his 'gunplay'.

She quickly got dressed and slung her bag over her shoulder. "I need to go on a business trip for a few days—no, at least a week. If you get hungry or crave sothing, just call the takeout number my mom gave you. Those takeouts are guaranteed to be clean, and you're not allowed to go ssing around outside!"

"Alright, but why the sudden business trip..."

SLAM!

With the door closing, Dean was left alone and disheveled on the large bed.

Lawrence and Dean's cousin, on their end, weren't ready yet.

Little Mike hadn't sent any news about the real "God."

Bored, Dean got up, tidied himself, and went to visit his mother.

He originally thought his mom, Sheila, would be busy at the company at this ti, but when he arrived at the house, he saw her laughing and chatting with a man in a hat.

Looking at the man's familiar silhouette, Dean stroked his chin.

It seems Dad, after being lonely for so long, couldn't take it anymore. He put on the Human Skin Mask I gave him and ca back to Los Angeles under a new identity to woo Mom. I wonder what Dad's thinking right now. Is he cuckolding himself?

Out of curiosity, Dean found a spot to observe while contemplating what he rembered about his father.

Dad's full na was Li Shen. Although he was of mixed heritage, he kept the Chinese naming tradition. With funding from his grandfather, who owned a few laundromats at the ti, he went to college as a teenager and was an academic ace. After graduation, he was busy with sothing or other out in the world. Anyway, later on, when they went to buy ponies, Mom—Sheila—took a fancy to him. Along with my uncle, they practically half-kidnapped, half-coaxed Li Shen ho, and wasted no ti in making things irreversible. Later, Dad sohow pulled so strings to join the Los Angeles Police Departnt and quickly got promoted to detective in the Narcotics Division, right up until he eventually died in the line of duty. Considering Dad's faked death and his undercover identity as Gabriel, I realize his background was probably complicated even before he t Mom. Back then, there wasn't any kind of formal national security agency like today. Dad, Li Shen, might have been an FBI recruit scouted from university. Getting close to Grandpa's farm might have even been part of so mission. He just probably didn't expect Mom to be so fierce, gobbling up the little lamb who'd walked right into the tiger's den. If this theory is true... TSK.

Dean couldn't help but shake his head.

What a plot! It's a cri this isn't a cheesy Hollywood romance. That would be a huge loss for the film industry.

While Dean was engrossed in these thoughts, a motorcycle carrying two girls pulled up beside him.

The guy driving the motorcycle stared, eyes wide, at his mom up ahead. She was laughing and chatting with a strange man, at tis playfully touching his chest without any restraint. "Wow!" he exclaid.

"What's up, Thompson?" the big, blonde-haired girl sitting behind the driver tugged at her woolen stockings and asked with a smile. "Didn't you say you had a cat that can do backflips? Why aren't we going?"

"Yeah, yeah! My sister and I specifically told everyone we were going to a party today and would be ho late. You're not tricking us, are you?" the younger, but even cuter, girl behind him chid in cheerfully.

Indeed, the rider of the motorcycle was none other than Thompson, who had just turned sixteen that year—Dean's little brother!

Thompson flicked the new stud in his ear and shrugged. "I'm afraid not today. My mom seems to be in love."

He was a filial kid.

Ever since his older brother Dean had 'unlocked' his emotional intelligence, Thompson realized that the reason their mom hadn't dated anyone since their dad passed away was her concern about what her children would think.

But that was unfair to Mom. Mom—Sheila—is only in her early forties. She's in the pri of her life, like the beautiful afterglow of a sunset, still with plenty of fire in her. She might not feel lonely with us around, but what about when we grow up and leave ho? What will she do then?

After coming to this realization, Thompson and Sinclair had been quietly trying to find a decent guy for their mom.

However, their progress... well, it was a long story.

Their mom simply wasn't impressed by any of the n they brought ho under various pretexts.

I hadn't expected to see Mom so chummy with a stranger, laughing and talking like that! Thompson thought.

He naturally didn't want to disturb his mom, who might be experiencing a new spring in her love life.

He frowned slightly, troubled. I want to get with the sisters, but I don't want to ss up Mom's chance at romance. What should I do?

As the chief disciple of Dean—that scumbag—and a product of such 'esteed' tutelage, Thompson soon had an idea.
