Dean got up and stretched languidly.

Feigning unconsciousness all the way really wasn’t easy.

He actually hadn’t noticed any problems with the beer Jimmy had offered him yesterday. He’d sent it straight into Subspace the mont it touched his lips, and his collapse was just a pretense to probe the situation.

Turns out that guy really was trouble.

Around three or four in the morning, soone had co in, dragged him away, disguised him as an injured person, cleared out his tent and belongings, and sent him directly to the bottom of the mountain by helicopter, then transported him by car...

Throughout the entire transportation process, Dean was restrained.

If it weren’t for his clear consciousness and the safety net of Subspace, he really wouldn’t have dared to take such a risk.

He moved his hands and feet slightly.

Dean knocked on the cent wall of the adjacent cell. "Hey, crybaby, can you hear ?"

His neighbor apparently hadn’t expected Dean, who had just been brought in, to be in this state. After a long silence, she finally spoke, her voice hoarse, "Aren’t you afraid?"

It was a woman’s voice. Judging by the sound, she couldn’t be very old, and her words were laced with fear.

Dean materialized a special iron wire in his hand. While picking the lock, he casually said, "Being afraid is useless, isn’t it? When were you brought in? Do you know what this place is for?"

"I don’t know where this is, nor how long I’ve been here, but it must be over a month," the female neighbor replied. She had probably not talked to anyone for a long ti, and her voice sounded a bit calr now. "Were you brought here after calling an ambulance too?"

"Called for an ambulance?"

Dean’s movents paused. "You an, you called for an ambulance, and you ended up here?"

It seems this organ-harvesting gang has other supply channels too.

"Yes, I live alone. I had an appendicitis attack and had to call an ambulance. I didn’t expect that after getting on board, I’d be knocked out with a breathing mask. When I woke up, my appendicitis was cured, but I was locked up here."

Seeing Dean’s confusion, the woman explained, "So of the people who end up here were like , brought here after calling an ambulance. Others were hikers who were drugged and brought in. And so unlucky ones were lured by a romantic encounter, only to end up here too. They’ve taken people from several nearby cities.

"However, most people are taken away again not long after being locked up.

"I’ve had several different neighbors, but for so reason, I’ve been kept here the whole ti. Besides losing my freedom, no one has co to harm ."

CLICK.

With a faint sound, the shackles on Dean’s feet unlocked.

There’s surveillance in the corridor.

Dean retracted the wire and sat cross-legged on the ground. "Are you very scared?"

"Aren’t you scared?"

The female neighbor grew agitated. "We have no contact with the outside world! People around us disappear one by one! You don’t even know if they’re imprisoning people for torture or so wicked dical experints! It’s like soone is pressing a revolver to your head, and with every pull of the trigger, you’re terrified to death! If I don’t get out soon, I’m going to go insane!"

As she spoke, THUMP THUMP THUMP!

The sound of chains hitting the wall ca from the next cell.

The next mont, ZAP!

Dean heard the distinct crackle of electricity.

The agitated female neighbor fell silent, subdued by the electric shock.

Well, well.

So the shackles on their feet were wired with electricity!

Dean could deal with the shackles on his feet, but he couldn’t break through the iron bars under the watchful eye of the surveillance caras.

But he wasn’t in a hurry.

On his way here, he had dropped tracking devices all along the route.

He just needed to wait for rescue.

Of course, in the anti, if so fool decided to co in to draw his blood or examine him for tissue matching, Dean wouldn’t waste any more ti.

After all, he didn’t know how long it would take this gang to discover the anomaly in the town.

Ending things quickly could prevent so unsavory incidents.

This wait didn’t last long.

Shortly after his female neighbor was electrocuted, two n wearing pig-head masks and pushing a cart laden with items arrived at Dean’s cell. They indifferently opened the iron door.

Without giving Dean a chance to speak, one of them pressed a button.

The next mont, an electric current shot from the shackles, coursing through Dean’s body. All his muscles seized up as he "enjoyed" the pleasure of electrocution.

With Dean down, the two n expertly took tools from the cart, preparing to draw blood.

The electroshock devices here were professionally calibrated to ensure that anyone zapped would remain weak and limp for the next few minutes.

Suddenly, the man grasping Dean’s palm and holding a needle to try and pierce his skin, frowned beneath his pig-head mask.

"What’s wrong?"

His accomplice said, sowhat annoyed, "Stop dawdling. I want to go enjoy that girl in 104 later. She’s already been tissue-typed. We don’t have much ti left to enjoy her."

This was one of their perks.

Organs for matching were best sourced from teenagers. People in that age group typically hadn’t yet developed various bad habits, and their organs were very healthy.

However, the disappearance of teenagers drew too much attention.

Therefore, they mostly targeted young people who enjoyed mountain climbing.

As for the won captured, they were first sent to be used for other purposes; only those deed to have no further value were sent here.

"This guy’s skin is a bit tough. It feels like cowhide."

The man holding the needle was about to say more when, suddenly, his eyes widened beneath the pig-head mask as if he had seen sothing incredible.
