"That guy, he’s definitely one of the participants. I guess he must have been deceived by his accomplices. That’s why there’s undisguised hatred in his eyes, and he didn’t follow the routine his accomplices had agreed upon for confession!"

"Routine?"

Carlo was even more confused. He had co over this morning and only learned about last night’s murder, but he knew nothing about the details.

Dean didn’t explain much but just ntioned casually, "You’ll know soon enough. I estimate that by this morning, soone else will co to the station to confess."

Pyle was a timid person. Under normal circumstances, even ordinary people would apply for legal assistance after being held by the police or request their lawyer to be present to ensure they wouldn’t be tricked. But Pyle did neither.

Dean guessed that Pyle’s lawyer could be the second murderer!

He had seen through the ’overt plot’ behind the scenes.

As for whether it was true or not, we’ll know soon enough.

「Forensic Science Departnt.」

Dean found Holz snoring away on a stretcher bed. It was apparent that the guy had had a rough day yesterday.

Dean had intended to wake Holz up.

Suddenly, a photo on the desk caught Dean’s attention: in a familiar living room, the outer casing of an electrical panel had been taken off, revealing bundles of cash and several packets of a white powdery substance.

Whoa. Was this a new discovery by Holz and his team?

Dean was certain this depicted the victims’ ho.

So... that family, were they drug lords?

"Dean?"

The sleeping Holz, quite vigilant, suddenly opened his eyes. Seeing it was Dean and the rookie Carlo, he relaxed and greeted them grumpily, "I rember I locked the office door!"

"A piece of wire took care of that."

Dean picked up the photo. "Is this an unexpected find from yesterday?"

"Yes!" Holz got up from the stretcher, stretched, his bones crackling, and then explained, "We tested the drugs and found it to be ’powder’ of average purity. Additionally, we found chemical residues from purification in their sewage. It’s almost certain the victim’s family was secretly trafficking drugs."

"Oh, right!" Holz smacked his head. "We found fingerprints not belonging to the victim’s family on a plastic bag used for flour. After checking the database, the prints belonged to an 18-year-old with a history of multiple detox attempts. His na is Dayev. Dayev was likely an associate of the victim’s family. People like him, trying to fund their drug habits, occasionally take risks transporting drugs for small-ti drug lords. Following that line, you might even help the Narcotics Division take down a drug trafficking route."

"Holz, give his information later. Any other discoveries?"

Dean nodded. There were multiple murderers involved in the victims’ deaths. This Dayev might also be a suspect.

Holz yawned and said tiredly, "Dean, it’s only been seven or eight hours since we conducted the cri scene investigation. In fact, I haven’t even had ti to perform autopsies on the victims, but I can confirm that the bloody clothes you later found indeed belonged to Suliya. Also, my colleague, after a simple ballistics comparison, confird that the sa handgun killed the male hoowner and Suliya—most likely a Glock 17. This model of handgun is very common, and there are many assembled black market versions out there. It’s difficult to narrow down suspects based on this."

"As long as it can be used for the final conviction, that’s enough. Soone will willingly hand over the weapon!" Dean wasn’t disappointed by this.

Holz thought Dean was confident because he had caught a suspect and could make them talk, so he said cheerfully, "Speaking of which, Dean, your reasoning is amazing. Yesterday, my colleague and I searched Pyle’s house and found many illegal videos of children stored on his computer. These perverts are truly disgusting. I really wish the web investigation team could start their sting operation sooner."

"The sting team?" Dean asked curiously.

Holz nodded. "With the rise of the internet, many people who were previously too scared are emboldened by certain online content to take risks, leading to a higher frequency of these cris. For instance, there are pedophiles who pretend to be children online, befriending their targets in chat rooms for young kids, then arranging to et up. When the children arrive at the agreed-upon location, the predators pretend to be relatives of the child their target was supposed to et, lowering their guard, and then proceed to sexually assault or commit other cris. Most parents pay little attention to this, and the victims practically walk into it, resulting in a high success rate for these criminals. So, the police departnt is preparing to conduct sting operations targeting pedophiles, online ’Silver Express’ activities, internet drug trafficking, and so on. Although we don’t know how effective it will be, at least it might keep them from being so rampant!"

After hearing this, Dean’s brows furrowed and then relaxed.

He initially thought about reminding his sister Sinclair when he returned, but considering that Sinclair wasn’t foolish and now carried a small handgun he had modified for her whenever she went out, he dismissed the thought. If so unfortunate soul did try sothing with Sinclair, the outco would most likely be unpleasant.
