Although these critical comnts are not mainstream, they still caused quite a stir. So naive people and those with ulterior motives greatly endorse these opinions, but fortunately, there aren't many of them, and they wouldn't organize anything like a large-scale protest.

It wasn't just outsiders; even inside the FBI's Public Affairs Office, so discussions were triggered. These office employees generally have no field experience, and their ideas are often naive and easily led.

Thankfully, Mrs. Mason and Isabel are well aware of Jimmy's file and know exactly what he did in the past, firmly suppressing the voices of the office's internal discussions.

As it turns out, there's a Holy Mother everywhere; it's not just those outside people, but even in federal agencies like the FBI, there are quite a few.

After communicating with the office and the dia, the negative trend was finally suppressed. Jimmy could finally attend so public events normally, gaining so external experience.

The dia can be a good thing. With intentional guidance, the incidents during Jimmy's ti as a police officer were basically characterized as tough, honest, and intolerant of evil. Of course, with so previous videos and information publicly announced by the FBI, his image as a tough FBI agent was established. Crucially, he is Asian, which is also a way for the FBI to show pressure managent in response to the burgeoning minority equality movent.

Jimmy's ti has been quite unlucky recently, but fortunately, although those journalists have definitely got his apartnt address, no one would set up paparazzi surveillance around the apartnt. After all, Jimmy is a genuine Senior Agent of the FBI, and these people understand well that monitoring a Federal Senior Agent is a high-risk activity that absolutely cannot be done, especially with no particular benefit.

However, the FBI's building at Federal Square is unavoidable. Here, being a federal institution, journalists and paparazzi cannot be forcibly removed as long as they don't enter inside, so Jimmy's current work commute is a big hassle, and he can only frequently change clothes, wearing his cowboy hat and baseball hat in rotation.

There's no helping it. Although the FBI hasn't released his kill count, just the confird numbers that the reporters got from the county police and the prosecutor's office show that, during his police days, Jimmy was already investigated for a dozen or so kills.

Bear in mind, most police officers in their 20 or 30-year careers might not even acquire one kill number; such a police officer is rare, and managing to get so different news is a small explosion point.

Amidst this irritating atmosphere, Jimmy settled in the Public Affairs Office for a few months. During this ti, other than being harassed, nothing particularly significant happened, so now Jimmy lives a very routine life, slacking off at the office during work hours, spending ti with Nia after work, occasionally going out, and overall living comfortably.

One day, while slacking off in the office, the phone suddenly rang. Glancing at the na, he answered, "Hi, Chuck."

Chuck: "Jimmy, Nia had an accident. She had a car accident while chasing a suspect and is now in the hospital."

Jimmy: "Shit! Which hospital?"

Chuck: "Mount Sinai Hospital, I'm heading over there now, the patrol officer inford ."

Jimmy: "I'm heading over imdiately."

Jimmy grabbed his coat and ran to Isabel's office because Mrs. Mason wasn't here today; "Isabel, my fiancée had a car accident, I need to go to the hospital now."

Isabel: "OK, go ahead, I'll call you if anything cos up."

Jimmy went downstairs, drove his unrepossessed Suburban, and left Federal Square, heading to the hospital.

Manhattan's dayti traffic can drive one crazy, especially when sothing's up. Jimmy almost wanted to turn on the police lights and sirens on his car, but luckily he kept his wits about him.

Creeping along, he finally reached Mount Sinai Hospital near Hell's Kitchen, called Chuck, and arrived outside the ward.

Jimmy: "Chuck, how is Nia?"

Chuck: "Don't get agitated, the doctor has checked; slight fractures in her left leg and arm, a head injury, maybe a concussion, she hasn't woken up yet, but there's no major issue."

Jimmy glanced through the window on the door into the ward but didn't rush in. He looked towards Chuck: "What really happened?"

Chuck: "She was out investigating a murder case with another detective. Specific details are unknown for now; it's only known that at a nearby intersection her car was hit, resulting in a car accident. When the patrol officer arrived, she was already unconscious; upon confirming her identity, they contacted the detective bureau, and then I notified you."

Chuck checked his watch: "Oh, the accident happened over an hour ago, we still need to go back to check the patrol officer's report and surveillance details for specifics."

Jimmy: "Wasn't she always paired up with you?"

Chuck: "She's gotta go solo soti. Okay, don't worry, wait until the doctor cos by."

Jimmy nodded, opened the door, and went in, dragging a chair to sit by Nia's bedside.

Watching Nia lying on the bed, Jimmy felt helpless, there are many accidents like this every day, pure probabilities, not sothing resolved by simply driving steady.

Checking the ti, Jimmy called Kevin, explaining the situation, emphasizing he was at the hospital, so Kevin didn't need to co over but just wait for updates.

A while later, Nia woke up. Jimmy: "You're awake, don't move, I'll call a doctor." Jimmy pressed a button at the bedside, a nurse ca in, glanced, and went out to get a doctor.

Jimmy: "Nia, what happened?"

Nia: "I only rember having a car accident when driving to an intersection, and then nothing else."

Jimmy: "OK, don't rush, the doctor will assess again later."

However, Jimmy still underestimated Kevin's concern for Nia. Half an hour after his call, Kevin appeared in the ward.

Kevin nervously pushed the door open and walked in briskly: "Nia, sweetheart, how are you?"

Nia: "Dad, I'm fine, it was just a car accident. The doctor said I have minor fractures and a mild concussion, nothing serious."

Kevin sighed with relief: "Thank goodness, you're okay. I was really worried. How did the accident happen? Who was the other party?"

Nia: "I don't know. I was unconscious after the accident, the patrol officer called an ambulance to bring here."

Kevin looked at Jimmy: "Who did it? Jimmy, have you started investigating?"

Jimmy: "Kevin, calm down, calm yourself. Chuck has gone back to the police station to investigate the patrol officer's report and the surveillance."

Kevin glared at Jimmy: "Why aren't you investigating then?"

Jimmy was speechless; this girl-daddy: "Chuck is more convenient for that at the station. I'm not really familiar with NYPD patrols, plus, I need to stay here with Nia."

Kevin glared at Jimmy: "Now you can go investigate."

Nia: "Dad! This isn't Jimmy's fault."

Kevin softened at once, looking at Nia, grabbing her right hand: "OK, OK, I got too anxious. I really got scared sothing happened to you."

Nia: "I'm really okay, it's just that I'll need to rest at ho for a while."

Kevin: "Of course, I'll tell your mom right away to prepare at ho."

Jimmy: "Well, how about letting Nia stay at my place."

Kevin turned to Jimmy, "Get lost, you still need to work, how can you take care of her?" He turned back to Nia: "Better to head ho, your mom can take care of you, just a few days indoors."

Jimmy stood aggrieved behind Kevin, really without options. Kevin was right; it's indeed more convenient at her ho, her mother could at least accompany her all day.

Nia: "Okay, okay, once the doctors confirm I can leave, I'll head ho. Dad, you should get to work, with Jimmy here with it's fine."

Kevin turned to Jimmy, the look really a little off as he perceived, his daughter was already completely taken away, although they were just engaged, not yet married.

Kevin: "Alright, I'll call ho to prepare, get so rest." After speaking, Kevin patted Nia's hand, stood up, and left the ward.

Jimmy watched Kevin leave, heading toward the elevator, then turned to Nia, shrugging: "Well, no choice, you going ho is also good, it's more convenient for your mom's care."

Nia nodded slightly, "Seems I'll be staying at ho for a while."

Jimmy: "No problem, I'll co visit after work. Rest well for a while; it's not like we need those wages."
