Tom definitely paid attention to Veronica not just because she saved him. Damn, it took Jimmy over an hour just listening to Tom introduce Veronica's birthplace and burial site, as well as so of her personal habits. Although there were so things mixed in about the original Jimmy, most of it was still about Veronica.

If it were just gratitude, the most he would do is look out for Veronica's son, but the details of this investigation are really extensive.

If it weren't for Jimmy's sharp mind, he would have been confused long ago. Veronica's life was just too rich, and it involved confidential matters. Tom wouldn't tell Jimmy either, focusing instead on her various travels to Europe and her last few years in the United States.

Additionally, there was so supplentary information about the forr Jimmy, but not much, because Tom wasn't that familiar. When he started interacting with Jimmy, Veronica was already arranging for him to enter the CIA. At that ti, Veronica had already been diagnosed with cancer, so she had to give the child a stable place.

Having spent so many years in the CIA, she believed that after her death, Jimmy would likely receive so people's care. She just didn't expect that before Jimmy even graduated from boot camp, she would have passed away. If Tom hadn't been watching out, even if Greg didn't kill Jimmy, he wouldn't have received much protection from others either.

Fortunately, now Greg has been taken out as well, so at least no one is watching Jimmy from the shadows. If leaving the CIA goes smoothly this ti, Jimmy can rest easy in the Public Affairs Office and wait a year to possibly return to the field departnt.

Checking the ti, Tom stood up: "Get ready, we're heading out."

Jimmy stood up, straightened his clothes, packed the stuff on the bed back into the suitcase, and after thinking for a second, he picked up the album, took out a colored photo of Veronica, and put it in his wallet, "Is it alright if I take a photo along?"

Tom nodded: "I missed that; it's common for people to keep family photos in their wallets. You did well."

Jimmy smiled as he opened his wallet, which also had a photo of Nia inside, "I have a picture of my fiancée with , that's why I rembered."

Tom: "Alright, let's go."

Jimmy and Tom went to the parking lot, and Tom didn't drive his car but instead got into Jimmy's car, and the two left the hotel, heading to Virginia.

It was already evening when they set out, and it was dark by the ti they reached the vicinity of Tom's teacher Mrs. Valdes' forest cabin in Virginia.

The cabin is quite hidden; though there's a path leading there, it's not a highway; it's a small dirt road. If Tom weren't directing, Jimmy definitely wouldn't have turned off the road into the woods.

Jimmy opened his Heart Eye after it got dark, which is his habit when driving at night, as the visible range is too small. After turning into the path, he looked to both sides, thinking how easy it would be to set up an ambush in such an environnt, "Tom, does anyone else know about this place?"

Tom: "Of course, Mrs. Valdes isn't completely secluded; the higher-ups at the bureau definitely know."

Jimmy: "Will there be anyone here to protect her?"

Tom: "Did you notice sothing?"

Jimmy: "The environnt here is too easy to set up an ambush. If a squad entered the woods, the cabin would definitely be torn down without anyone outside noticing."

Tom: "Don't worry; the bureau arranged for security here. Although not much, it's enough unless there's a special situation."

Jimmy said no more and kept driving. After making a turn, he noticed soone hiding in the woods, but it was only two people, and they weren't far apart. They seed to be sentinels.

What he asked Tom earlier pertained to this; he didn't know who these two were, but he couldn't just take them out in front of Tom. That would be too overboard.

Continuing forward, he soon saw more people; at intervals, there were another two people watching. They didn't seem to be preparing to attack. A wooden cabin appeared in his view from afar. It looked substantial, not like a vacation cabin, but more like a forest villa.

A sedan was parked outside the cabin. Jimmy parked behind that car and decided to check things out. If these people intended to harm those in the cabin, it would be more troubleso if he were inside. Better to clarify in advance, "Tom, you go inside first; I'll clear up here."

Tom: "What did you find?"

Jimmy: "There are people in the woods, uncertain about their numbers and purpose, so I want to take a look."

Tom: "No, stay in the car, hide well."

Tom got out, adjusted his clothes, and walked to the cabin. Jimmy watched from the car; there were four people in the cabin, two in the living room and two in another room, which seed to be a study.

Tom knocked on the door. A young man ca out from the living room, opened the door, and let Tom in. Tom then approached the study door, knocked, and entered.

Soon, he left the study and ca to the door, waving at Jimmy. Jimmy got out, glanced at the woods behind the cabin, and approached the cabin entrance.

When Jimmy got beside him, Tom whispered, "There are indeed people around, but they're all bodyguards; it's fine."
