Chuck was just about to reply when he realized that the guy wasn't here for him.

Nia looked up at Jimmy, then back down at the files: "Overti."

Jimmy smiled and said, "No problem, I'll wait for you."

Chuck reached out and pulled Jimmy, who was leaning on Nia's desk, back, "Looks like you're quite free, perfect, help with this."

Jimmy glared at Chuck resentfully, "What's the matter?"

"Taxi driver death case, the third recent one. If we don't find any clues soon, it's going to be trouble for you guys," Chuck handed a file to Jimmy.

Jimmy, holding the file, said sternly to Chuck, "I should not have co. Sigh."

The taxi stopped in an alley, the driver had been shot in the back of the head and was dead, leaning over the steering wheel.

Jimmy reviewed the cri scene report, no clear clues, but judging from the bullet trajectory, it was likely the person sitting behind on the right shot the driver in the head. The fingerprints in the car were all mixed up and too complex to make any sense, making it impossible to identify them.

No shell casings were found in the cab either, nor was there anything left on the back seat. The driver's wallet was taken out, but not taken away, and not all the cash was gone; so change was still there.

It was a strange case, didn't look like a robbery, nor did it seem random.

Jimmy: "Chuck, what about the other two cases?"

Chuck pointed at the pile of files on the desk, Jimmy picked them up and looked through, basically the sa, the money on the drivers wasn't completely taken, change still there. Only the locations were different, the first in Harlem, Manhattan, the second in Bronx, and the third in Queens.

Jimmy: "No eyewitnesses? Did anyone hear shots in the area?"

Chuck shook his head, "No, that's what's troubleso, patrol officers are still investigating around the third cri scene."

Jimmy: "What about the background checks on the three drivers? It's not written here."

Chuck: "Not completed yet, we've got the basic info, but their social connections aren't fully confird yet."

Jimmy: "It doesn't look random, the murderer must be looking for soone."

Chuck: "Yeah, we thought so, hence now we're investigating their social relationships, if they're linked, we can swiftly pinpoint the killer's target."

Jimmy: "Alright, I can't think of much right now, you keep busy. How about giving Nia a break? I just wrapped up a case, it's rare to have rest."

Chuck irritably pulled the files back from Jimmy's hand, "Go ask her yourself."

Jimmy leaned again on the partition of Nia's desk, "Nia, I booked Chinese food in Chinatown, let's go together."

Nia looked up at Jimmy with a headache, pressing her right hand to her forehead, while Jimmy kept nagging, "Chuck agreed, let's go."

"Alright." Nia stood up, tidied the things on her desk, then turned and walked towards the changing room.

"Yeah!" Jimmy stood up, beside Chuck: "Thanks, Chuck. By the way, a suggestion, start probing into the gangs that took over the taxi shares, they might have so clues, and dead people might be linked to them."

Most of the better Chinese restaurants in Chinatown cater mainly to locals, mostly old brands. Only a few famous ones have more visitors from outside, of course, the taste has mostly been adapted to suit them.

Jimmy had no particular requests, dining with Nia ant adapting to her tastes, so there was nothing extraordinarily spicy like braised pork in hot chili oil. Recently, as things had slowed down, he had been in contact with Nia more often, and it seed that Nia didn't reject Jimmy, although they were still quite far from getting into bed together.

Jimmy: "Nia, what was that news you ntioned on the phone this afternoon? I was busy today and didn't check."

Nia: "Yo, it's big news, Tomorrow's Star, Shield of Bravery dal, FBI's upcoming hotshot detective, and so on."

Jimmy was confused, "I just received the dal yesterday, as a reward for that bombing case. What's the other news about?"

Nia: "You really don't know? The full video was released, and I didn't expect you to be that capable. The host said you are a star among the new generation of FBI agents."

Jimmy thought for a mont, then understood, "I see, seems like they didn't plan a press conference, just used the footage or photos from the award ceremony combined with the previous video for promotion. By the way, did they show my face?"

Nia: "Of course, or how would I have known it was you!"

Jimmy: "Ah, it's really nothing, it was an ergency situation, but luckily they didn't all co out together, so it's not a big deal, I just knocked down a few guys. None of them died."

Nia: "What about the other video? This news didn't debunk the second video."

Jimmy wasn't sure what to say, should he admit that he was lethal? "That was a special case, my colleague was shot in the room, I had to act to save him, so I went a bit hard. Don't worry, I'm not always like this."

Nia shook her head, "I don't think you're brutal, just very impressive. I asked many colleagues and most think they couldn't handle it, they want to ask you for so tips."

Jimmy sighed: "There's nothing special about it, in ergency situations people can break limits, it's normal to pull off things you usually can't."
