Could this case still be standard CIA equipnt? Adjusting the contents as needed? Tom's position wasn't low back then, the fact that there is a designated person from the Anti-Terrorism Bureau using this case shows that it's definitely not sothing just anyone can handle. Tom was able to operate it proficiently, which indicates he must have done this more than just once or twice while at the CIA; maybe he used to be in the sa role as this young man before.
Noah Watson's departure from the conference room made Jimmy quite relieved, and he took the opportunity to look around. What he didn't expect to find was a hidden surveillance cara in the corner of the ceiling. Looking at the drop ceiling, you couldn't detect the cara at all. It seems they really don't trust outsiders, even monitoring their own internal conference room.
Jimmy, "Gordon, can we go to their Command Center? I'd like to see the status of their investigation."
Gordon was also played by Noah. Even though it was supposed to be a collaborative effort among three agencies, Noah's approach effectively let the Anti-Terrorism Bureau take over the case, leaving the FBI as an absolute sidekick. Hearing Jimmy's request, Gordon thought for a mont and said, "I'll talk to Noah, you guys wait here."
Gordon got up and left the conference room, stopped soone to ask for directions, and headed to Noah's office.
Jimmy had deliberately made his request knowing his surroundings. The conference room was surrounded by normal office areas, and there was a bustling spot right above them. From his vantage point, he could see a large hall with three rows of desks where many people worked side by side. Due to the angle, a lot of details were unclear, but that location was likely the Command Center Noah had ntioned.
Now that he was at the Anti-Terrorism Bureau, it wasn't ideal to just hide in the conference room. Gordon's face had turned pale just now, so Jimmy thought about using him to get out of this situation. The longstanding discord between the FBI and CIA was well-known; if not for the CIA creating the Anti-Terrorism Bureau and having good relations with the NSA, headquarters probably wouldn't have allowed them to co here and would have contacted the NSA directly from the Manhattan office instead.
Gordon returned with a grim expression. He looked at the few people, then turned to Jimmy, "Jimmy, you co with to the Command Center. Scott, continue organizing the materials here and wait for Joey."
Scott's expression turned sour upon hearing Gordon's arrangent, but he managed to say, "Alright," as he watched Jimmy stand up and follow Gordon out of the room.
"Nice," Jimmy thought to himself with satisfaction. Sure enough, Gordon was much more reliable and personable than Noah. Clearly, Noah had denied everyone's request to visit the Command Center, but Gordon decided to bring soone in regardless. He didn't choose Scott, with whom he had the best relationship; instead, he chose Jimmy. This showed Gordon's respect for the Manhattan office, not letting the sole representative from Manhattan be sidelined because of personal relationships.
Upon reaching the upper floor, Gordon and Jimmy entered the Command Center, which was indeed the sa large hall Jimmy had observed before. Every person here had several monitors in front of them, and on the wall ahead was a massive array of screens. Information copied earlier from the conference room was already displayed on the big screens.
Noah, with his arms crossed in front of his chest, looked at the other people's investigative work.
"The unnad phone call has been turned off, last recorded appearance in Brooklyn," one staff mber announced.
Noah, "Trace the phone's movent route, locate its last position."
"Fifth Street, Brooklyn, near Miller Middle School, no available caras nearby."
Noah, "Continue the investigation, identify previous movents, access traffic caras to pinpoint recurring figures. Also pull the signal trail from when they t with the reporter to see if anyone appears repeatedly."
"It will take a long ti, there are too many people within the signal coverage area."
Noah, "Start with the most recent records, delegate the eting records to others, manage it yourself."
After Noah finished speaking, he turned and left the Command Center, where there wouldn't be any significant results for a while, so there was no need to linger.
Jimmy watched Noah's dialogue with the staff and couldn't help but feel envious of their resources. Like how viewing traffic cara footage required a visit to the NYPD dispatch center, yet the Anti-Terrorism Bureau was able to directly and in real-ti access these and even had previous records. It seed they weren't just temporary requests but had already synced their surveillance footage with the dispatch center.
