"Mrs. Baldwin, how are you? Is Jas here?" Jimmy handed Mrs. Baldwin a drink.

"He's in the study." Mrs. Baldwin didn't lead Jimmy but simply pointed toward the study.

Jimmy approached the study door and knocked.

"Co in."

Jimmy opened the door and walked in. He hadn't seen Jas since their last eting at the hospital, and now Jas looked even thinner than before, with a scar on his face.

Jimmy: "Good evening, Jas."

Jas looked at Jimmy in surprise, "Jimmy, are you alright?" he asked as he got up and ca over to Jimmy.

Jimmy nodded, "The investigation is over, I ca out to clear my mind."

Jas patted Jimmy's arm, "It's good you're okay, it was really terrifying."

Jas led Jimmy to sit on two armchairs opposite each other in the corner of the room, "So, the investigation is finished? Will there be any follow-up?"

Jimmy shook his head, "I don't know, it might be the end for now, but it's probably not that simple, especially since Stanton died at the scene. It's too damaging."

Jas: "Don't think too much about it, it's not your concern. Those are for the people at the White House to worry about."

Jas got up, went to the bookshelf, took two glasses and a bottle of wine, "To celebrate you getting through this, let's have a drink."

Jimmy, watching Jas's happy smile, felt reassured; in the few years he had been in this world, the kindest person to him had been the old man before him. His caring was subtle yet profound, quietly arranging many things for him, yet Jimmy hadn't thought of how to repay him.

After a drink, Jimmy asked, "How are you doing?"

Jas waved his hand, "I'm fine now, besides the scars. I never thought I'd get shot in my old age after a lifeti of peace."

Jimmy and Jas chatted and drank together, and before he knew it, Jimmy had once again drunk too much.

Jimmy opened his eyes, glanced around—the room was ordinary, not the hotel he had booked. The curtains on the window were drawn, and it was very bright outside; it looked like he had overslept again. After observing his surroundings with "Heart Eye Observation," he confird he was in Jas's house, in a guest room on the second floor.

He got up, picked up the clothes on the chair beside him, dressed, and walked out of the bedroom.

"Good morning, Mrs. Baldwin." Jimmy went downstairs and greeted Mrs. Baldwin in the living room, "Sorry, it's rare to have a chat with Jas, I didn't an to bother you."

"Oh, Jimmy, don't be so polite, just think of this as your ho. Are you feeling better? Would you like a cup of coffee?" Mrs. Baldwin stood up, asked Jimmy, and walked toward the kitchen.

"Oh, thank you. Where's Jas?" Jimmy didn't refuse and followed Mrs. Baldwin to the kitchen, not wanting her to have to carry his coffee out to the living room.

"He's already gone to work, don't worry, just rest." Mrs. Baldwin poured a cup of fresh coffee for Jimmy from the pot—it looked like it hadn't been long since it was made.

"It tastes good, thank you." Jimmy took a sip of the coffee and then sat with Mrs. Baldwin back in the living room.

"Child, did sothing happen?" Mrs. Baldwin asked with a smile.

Jimmy looked puzzled at Mrs. Baldwin, who pointed to her eyes, "Last night, you cried."

"Oh, excuse for a mont." Jimmy stood and headed to the bathroom, having already reviewed its layout, he knew not to open the wrong door.

Looking in the mirror, Jimmy noticed clear tear stains from the corners of his eyes down to his temples; he hadn't washed up when he first woke up and hadn't noticed them. He quickly took care of his personal matters, washed his face, and then returned to the living room.

"It's nothing, maybe it was just a dream." Jimmy casually answered, drank his coffee, and then said goodbye to Mrs. Baldwin as he left.

-----------------

Originally outlined, after the Red Flas Battlefield storyline, Jimmy was confined for three months due to the investigation, for killing Frank and others, which greatly disappointed Tom. Jimmy was also tainted by remorse, pushing him further into a darker path. Later, Jimmy would leave New York and so incidents would occur, ultimately receiving one of the Thirteen Rainbows, Black Rainbow, sent by Roland from the Dark Tower.

The subsequent plot will not be spoiled here, although the outline has changed a lot, but there's a part that I might still use later.
