Roland looked at Jimmy, "What did you find?"
Jimmy turned his head to look at Roland, "I discovered a trajectory pointing towards my target, and after I fired, I could also observe the trace of the trajectory. This must be the power of belief you were talking about, right?"
Roland shook his head, "Your ability is sothing only you understand best, I have no clue. However, since you've made a breakthrough, practice more, there will be a ti for improvent."
Jimmy raised his gun, continuing to wait for the trajectory that appeared in Heart Eye to erge again, and fired the remaining 2 bullets.
Roland put his gun back in its holster, "Let's head back, I've seen your ability, it's a pity your body is holding you back."
Jimmy also ejected the shell casings, replaced several bullets, then placed his gun back in its holster and followed Roland back to the cabin. Jimmy was still imrsed in his ability from earlier; having fired only three shots, he was not sure whether this ability had other limitations or whether there was a deeper level of advancent possible.
Roland, seeing Jimmy seed to be thinking about sothing, did not interrupt his thoughts, but took two cans of beer from the fridge and placed them on the coffee table.
After a while, Jimmy finally snapped back to reality, he looked at Roland and said, "Sorry, I was absorbed in my thoughts just now."
Roland shook his head, "No problem, you can go back and slowly reflect on how to apply your ability. What I taught you before was the use of revolvers, but now that you have Flash Spirit ability, you should get familiar with it as soon as possible. I am already old, and perhaps it won't be long before you are the last Gunman."
Jimmy frowned, "What do you an? You look fine."
Roland smiled, "I've been fighting for decades, maybe I can live longer, just saying, don't worry, I won't die that easily."
The two chatted for a while, and Roland went to prepare lunch. There was food left in the fridge, so there was no need for a last-minute hunt. Jimmy stayed in Roland's cabin for half a day and then drove away from Roland's cabin back to Dallas. He hadn't planned on rushing back to New York; since he was here, he might as well et so old friends.
Jimmy called DEA Agent Torsten, fortunately, he was in Dallas and was not on a mission. Jimmy rested for one night, woke up a bit late the next day, and didn't arrive at the DEA Dallas office until noon to see Torsten, whom he hadn't seen for over a year. Torsten didn't seem to have changed at all.
Jimmy placed the coffee he was holding on the table: "Long ti no see, Agent Torsten, please treat everyone to coffee, could you help distribute it?"
Torsten and Jimmy hugged, and without any formalities, Torsten directly ordered soone nearby to distribute the coffee, while he took Jimmy into a small eting room, had Jimmy sit down, and from a small fridge nearby, he took out two cans of Coke, surprising Jimmy—this was the first ti he had seen anyone with Coke in their office area, as in the FBI offices, only the break rooms had coffee readily available, and Coke seed unheard of.
Jimmy opened a can and took a sip, "You're living well, storing Coke in the office."
Torsten laughed, "This isn't mine, but drinking a couple of cans won't be a problem, I'll replace them later. It's rare to see you around, what brought you to Dallas? Another vacation?"
Jimmy, "Yeah, I was a bit too rough recently and got investigated by OPR."
Torsten imdiately caught a key point in Jimmy's words, "Wait, OPR? Isn't that the Ministry of Internal Affairs? OPR, did you join the FBI?"
Jimmy, "Uh, didn't I tell you? Shit! I forgot. I left the county police at the end of last year, joined the FBI Academy in Quantico, and now I'm working in Manhattan, New York."
Torsten looked at Jimmy speechlessly, "Why? When we invited you to join the DEA, you didn't even want to leave the county police. How did you suddenly end up at the FBI? Are we inferior to the FBI?"
Jimmy didn't know what to say to Torsten as he indeed didn't want to change places at first, but later it was Agent Harten from the FBI Little Rock office who invited him, and he felt like he wanted a change, so he chose the FBI, truly forgetting about the DEA.
Jimmy, "Uh, so things happened last year, and by chance coincided with the FBI doing a special academy training, so I enrolled and went to Quantico."
Torsten, "We also have the DEA Academy in Quantico, you know. Why didn't you say earlier you wanted to switch jobs?"
The DEA Academy was right next to the FBI Academy, also in Quantico; Jimmy had not visited the DEA Academy at that ti.
Jimmy, "Ah, that's all in the past, let's not talk about it anymore. I'm already working in New York. How have you been?"
Torsten, "Sa old, sa old, recently there's been an increase in narcotics flowing in, making it harder to fight them. Although we've had big seizures, it's not enough to destroy their network."
Jimmy, "The reason I ca, besides it's been a long ti since we've seen each other, was to et you and also to ask about the Dixie Family."
Torsten frowned, "How did you get mixed up with them? They are a troubleso family."
Jimmy, "There's a case involving the Dixie Family, it seems like they want to expand their business to New York and are getting involved with a local gang. I was following up on this case before I went on leave."
Torsten thought for a mont and said, "Wait here for a mont," he put down his Coke and left the reception room. Jimmy sipped on his Coke while waiting for him, and a few minutes later, Torsten ca back in with a folder.
Torsten: "Here are so files on the Dixie family, but not much, because I'm not in charge of this case."
Jimmy took the folder, flipped through it twice, but didn't find any information on Reina Franjes. He jotted down so notes at random and then handed it back to Torsten.
Jimmy: "I've finished looking. However, it seems the individuals recorded here haven't been to New York, thanks."
Torsten took back the materials, went out to put them away, ca back, and said, "It looks like you've finished your business; let's go, I'll treat you to a al."
Jimmy stood up, and as they were about to leave, Jimmy's phone suddenly rang. He glanced at it and answered: "Ruiz, what's up?"
Ruiz: "Yeah, the OPR investigation is over, you can co back to work."
Jimmy: "That's good news, so I'll hurry back to New York today."
Ruiz: "Where are you now?"
Jimmy: "Dallas, I took advantage of my vacation to visit so friends."
Ruiz: "Got it, return as soon as you can."
After hanging up the phone, Jimmy went out with Torsten for lunch, while Ruiz turned to look at Hughes. Yes, he had notified Jimmy directly from Hughes's office.
Ruiz: "Jimmy is in Dallas visiting friends, not in New York, but returning to work tomorrow shouldn't be an issue."
Hughes thought for a mont and then said, "Dallas, huh? Do you think he's capable of handling a case on his own right now?"
Ruiz: "Isn't that too soon? He's only been with the FBI for just over a month."
Hughes: "We just talked about this: let him try his hand at so more cases to decide exactly which team he'd be suitable for. Since he's in Dallas, couldn't we just have him handle so other cases?"
Ruiz: "I still think he's too young, not experienced enough."
Hughes: "Youth is not an issue. Experience—he's been a police officer before; he should have so experience with case work. Let's try it, I'll arrange for soone to keep an eye on him."
Ruiz: "Okay, you're the boss."
Hughes: "Alright, you can go back now, I'll notify him later."
After Hughes finished speaking, he opened the contact list on his computer and dialed the person in charge of the FBI Dallas office.
After discussing with the other party, Hughes found a suitable case and then called Jimmy directly.
Hughes: "Jimmy, you're still in Dallas, right?"
Jimmy: "I haven't started back yet. Do you have any instructions, boss?"
Hughes: "Then there's no need to co back for now. Go to the Dallas office and find Supervisor Lambert; there's a case there for you to take over."
Jimmy was completely baffled. "What? I don't understand. Hughes, why would I handle a case in Dallas?"
Hughes: "I have my reasons, no back talk, just go. Contact Lambert this afternoon." Hughes gave Lambert's number for Jimmy to note down, then hung up.
After Jimmy hung up, he was still baffled. He couldn't figure out why they would assign him to work on a case here in Dallas, especially since it wasn't a case from New York but a local Dallas one.
Looking at Torsten, Jimmy said, "Do you know where the FBI Dallas office is? It seems like I've been kicked over here to work on a case."
