After hearing Evan's introduction, Jimmy rembered his own revolver. In the past two years, Jimmy had used this gun to kill dozens of people. Could this revolver also be a demon extermination weapon?
Jimmy didn't ask, but continued with other questions.
Jimmy, "So, what's the difference between a demon and an evil spirit?"
Evan closed one cabinet and opened another. This was his trophy cabinet, containing so bones and various odds and ends.
Evan, "This is my collection room, all these are ntos left by the demons and evil spirits I've killed. Demons and evil spirits are different. Demons mainly fall into two categories. The first category cos from Hell, devils who have gone through extensive killing in Hell, and co to our world bearing evil power. They generally possess various abilities, and these devils are the hardest to kill. Often our weapons cannot breach their defenses, and it usually requires a very large team battle to deal with them, resulting in significant casualties.
The other category is possession demons, who co to the world through projection, modifying the people they possess. Though not as powerful as the physical devils, they can still use various abilities, and they are not sothing one person can handle alone.
Evil spirits are usually used to describe resentful spirits, those who had a strong desire for soone or sothing in life and did not achieve their goals. Their souls, after the death of their bodies, still hold deep resentnts that cannot be released, forming resentful spirits at the place of death, causing great harm to those who trigger their thoughts or objects.
Places where resentful spirits appear often involve various cases of unnatural death. We also use this as a clue to locate the resentful spirits and go there to clear them out. The most effective way is to find their nest and eliminate their basis."
"However, there is a special case within resentful spirits, which are the malevolent spirits. If a resentful spirit's power breaks certain limits, it becos a much more brutal malevolent spirit. Many malevolent spirits will break their regional limits and leave their original locations, and these are troubleso as they can only be directly killed. Moreover, a demon extermination ritual must be perford promptly to dissolve their lingering evil power.
Once they beco malevolent spirits, if their source of power isn't found, it's possible they might resurrect after a long period," Evan explained.
Jimmy, "Anything else?"
Evan, "Of course, these are just rough classifications; there are other completely different and strange scenarios. I once encountered a scarecrow that could control the surrounding plants and fill people's bodies with straw. To my knowledge, at least four demon hunters were killed by him, but fortunately, he was eventually purified by the Vatican."
Jimmy took a long breath. While listening to Evan, he had really concentrated on rembering everything Evan ntioned. Although he had learned so concepts through movies and TV shows before, it seed that those plots weren't entirely made up. However, they were sowhat different from what soone like Evan, who had actual combat experience, described.
In the movies, it was always the protagonist alone or a small team handling everything, but according to Evan, many situations required large teams, suggesting that movies greatly exaggerated individual capabilities.
Evan, "You just need a rough understanding. You are not a demon hunter, nor are you from the Vatican. When you encounter such matters, it's best to just avoid them."
Evan closed the cabinet and took a small bottle from a stand nearby and handed it to Jimmy. It was only as big as a palm, with a diater no more than 5 centiters and hardly taller than the length of a hand, about 15 centiters, sealed with a wooden stopper.
Evan, "This is for you. It's high-concentration holy water. If you co into contact with sothing like a resentful spirit, diluting this holy water and washing your body with it can remove quite a lot of the remaining evil power."
Jimmy reached out his left hand to take the bottle and then drew his revolver from behind his waist with his right hand, "Thank you. One more thing, this is my regular gun, and it has killed at least 30 criminals. Do you think it could beco a killing weapon?"
Evan widened his eyes, "What? How many people has it killed?"
Jimmy, "About 30."
Evan, "I couldn't tell. You don't look very old, 22-23 years old? You are quite ruthless. I'm not familiar with firearms like revolvers, but indeed, quite a few demon hunters use guns. From this perspective, there's a chance it could beco a demon extermination weapon.
I'm not familiar with firearms, and I can't really say. Maybe you could ask soone else about it later."
Jimmy continued, "If I take this gun to a priest and ask him to bless it, would it be effective?"
Evan, "I really don't know. I only use cold weapons, and I use guns just for self-defense. I can't answer your question. Alright, that's all you need to know for now. Just take care of yourself. If you really need soone to handle an unusual case, I suggest you directly contact a priest in New York."
Jimmy, "I understand, thank you for the introduction. I'll head back now. Goodbye, Evan."
Evan nodded, walked to the door, opened it, and sent Jimmy off the RV before closing it.
Jimmy left the RV and walked straight to his car, started the engine, and left Rock Creek Park. It was already late, and Jimmy had no urgent matters requiring him to rush back to New York. He drove to downtown DC and found a decent-looking hotel to stay in.
He called room service to order food, took out his gun and wallet, and laid them on the table. Sitting on the sofa to rest, today's long drive had been tiring, and he couldn't bother to go out to find a restaurant. Ordering food directly from the hotel saved him a lot of trouble.
Jimmy had learned a lot today about the classifications on the supernatural side, most importantly about demon extermination weapons. Although, in the end, Evan hadn't definitively told Jimmy whether his gun could beco a demon extermination weapon, it was not a big issue. Jimmy thought of Roland, who always used his two modified Remington 1875s. If Roland could, he likely could too; it was just better to check in advance. It would be problematic if his gun proved ineffective when needed.
After resting for the night, Jimmy drove back to New York the next morning. Justin hadn't called, and there wasn't much Jimmy could do. If he went to investigate the case himself, there was a high chance of trouble as the police departnt did not like the FBI ddling in their cases. If they investigated further and found Jimmy had previously entered Romany's villa, things could get complicated.
