For soone like Jones, it wasn't hard to get ahold of a LRPD detective's cell phone number; he directly called Chris, instructing him to co to the bar to pick up so information.
Chris had plenty of cases in hand but cared a bit more about cases involving his own people. After receiving Jones's call, he imdiately rushed to the bar and got a photo and a na from Jones.
Chris didn't return to the police station but instead went straight to the county police headquarters to find Jimmy.
Chris, "Jimmy, there's been news."
Chris handed over the photo to Jimmy and said, "This man's na is Massie Greenie, his brother is Michael Green, one of the four n you killed in Jacksonville the other day.
Jones's subordinates got word that Massie was seen in the neighborhood near your apartnt, and now they can't find him."
Jimmy, "Is this still the aftermath of the Jacksonville incident? Is his target ?"
Chris, "According to what we know so far, yes, you are his target. It's possible that your identity information was leaked, and he certainly has a significant suspicion given the motive."
Jimmy, "So, he thinks it was who killed his brother, found my information, ca to my apartnt during the day while I was at work, and broke into my room to steal my gun?
Now I need to watch out for a gunman lurking in the shadows, aiming at ? Fuck, and it might be with my own gun?"
Chris, "Exactly, his whereabouts are unknown at the mont, he might be right next to your apartnt, maybe outside the police station, who knows. So, you'd better stay off duty for a while, avoid going ho, and keep an eye on the people around you."
Chris stood up, buttoned his suit jacket, "I've given you the lead, you can get in touch with the Jacksonville police departnt yourself, I'm heading back now."
Jimmy rose to see Chris off, then returned to his desk, looking at Massie's photo before heading to Jas's office.
Jimmy, "Chief Jas, I need to get in touch with the Jacksonville police departnt, could you make a call to their chief for ? I need to locate so information."
Jas, "Regarding what?"
Jimmy, "There's a tip-off that a brother of one of the n I killed has been seen near my apartnt, but now he's gone missing, and he's presud to be the one who broke into my place. I need help from the folks over at the Jacksonville police departnt to look into this."
Jas, "Go on out."
Jimmy left the office, closing the door behind him, while Jas picked up the phone and dialed out.
Jas, "Jimmy, co in."
Jimmy opened the door and re-entered Jas's office.
Jas handed Jimmy a sticky note, "Contact Agent Neil, he will help you look up the information."
Jimmy took the sticky note, "Thank you, Chief."
Jimmy went back to his desk and imdiately called the number on the sticky note.
Jimmy, "Agent Neil, this is Jimmy Yang from the county police."
Neil, "Hey, Butcher. The chief has already briefed , I'll give you my full cooperation. What do you need to do?"
Jimmy, "Thanks. You're aware of the shooting case at your end a few days ago; the brother of one of them has shown up near my apartnt, and the other day, soone broke into my place and took my gun."
Neil, "Oh, I see now. It seems you're stuck in the station for the ti being. Got any info? Fax it to ."
Jimmy, "Thanks, I really need to find him as soon as possible."
Neil, "No worries, send over the details."
Jimmy, "Just a na and photo, Massie Greenie. I'll fax you the photo right now."
Jimmy hung up the call and faxed the photo to the Jacksonville police departnt, and all that was left was to wait.
Jones's bar.
After leaving the county police headquarters, Chris didn't head straight back to the LRPD station but instead changed direction and proceeded to Jones's bar.
This ti, Chris wasn't stopped outside; the security directly escorted him in.
Jones hadn't had an easy ti these past few days. He didn't even go back to rest, instead taking naps at the bar. To reach such a position as the boss and still have it this hard.
When Chris saw Jones, he had just co out of the back room. The two sat on the sofa, Jones had drinks brought over, and after Chris clinked glasses and took a sip with Jones, they began their conversation.
Jones, "Chris, I've done what I can for Butcher's situation. Why have you co back?"
Chris, "I just ca to say thanks for keeping you busy this whole ti."
Jones, "Cut the crap, you wouldn't bother for that. What's really on your mind?"
Chris, "Okay, Jones, you know Massie took a handgun from the Butcher, and now, the Butcher isn't safe. The police departnt will restrict his movent until we find or capture Massie."
Jones, "That's your business now, I've done my part."
Chris, "Oh, Jones, as you know, if soone feels threatened, they get very irritable, especially… you know. So, it's not ti to rest yet, do sothing. If Butcher's rage really builds up, who knows who will be the next unfortunate one? What do you say?"
Jones picked up the bottle, poured himself another drink, and gulped it down.
Jones, "Chris, this is the last thing, you and Butcher both owe a favor."
After Jones spoke, he stood up, and Chris also got to his feet, adjusted his clothes, and walked out of the bar.
Jimmy didn't go ho after getting off work in the evening but stayed in the police station instead. Of course, he wasn't needed for patrol duty; now he was truly employed to just hang around.
Within a day, the news of Jimmy's life being threatened spread throughout the station. While they sympathized, they didn't forget to tease him a bit; even the mightiest Butcher could only hide in the station, depending on LRPD colleagues to fend off trouble.
Indeed, Jimmy was now in a protected status. Massie's photo had been circulated to all LRPD patrol officers. Everyone took it very seriously when a colleague was threatened with violence, especially one they had collaborated with many tis.
The neighborhood adjacent to the county police headquarters and the streets near Jimmy's apartnt had been placed under heightened patrol. Any signs of trouble, and patrol officers nearby would co to assist. Compared to dealing with neighborhood disputes, the enthusiasm for this sort of thing was evidently higher.
A day passed with no discoveries by the patrol officers, and Jimmy still couldn't leave the station.
Jimmy also got in touch with Agent Neil in Jacksonville, but there was no good news from that end either. Massie lived with his brother, and now he was alone, his residence had been put under surveillance. Unfortunately, there had been no sign of him returning ho all day, Massie seed to have vanished.
The gang that Michael, Massie's brother, belonged to had been notified, and now everyone was on the lookout for Massie.
