Jimmy smoothly returned to his hotel room, briefly tidied up, and then threw himself on the bed and fell asleep. When he woke up the next day, it was already close to noon.
Jimmy went to the bathroom, took a shower, changed into a new set of clothes, but didn't change his shoes. He stuck with his sneakers since he had work to do and dress shoes would be inconvenient.
He headed out, found a restaurant, and ate lunch. A proper al sure beats fast food; pasta, steak, and salads are much more substantial. Eating fast food all day was almost ruining Jimmy's appetite.
After resting a bit, Jimmy drove to Oakville. It seed like he was always driving back and forth, almost suggesting a long distance, but he only needed to take a detour; the place where Jimmy stayed and Oakville were just opposite sides of mphis International Airport.
When Jimmy arrived near the gang leader's house, he didn't get too close. Even though he was sure no caras had spotted him the night before, he couldn't be too cautious—soone looking out their window at just the right mont could still spot him.
He parked his car in the distance, smoked a cigarette while walking toward the target house. This ti he took the main road; after all, it was dayti and sneaking through backyards would look suspicious to anyone.
Wearing the large sunglasses he had bought a long ti ago which covered almost half his face, Jimmy ensured that as long as he didn't turn his head left or right, nobody could tell where he was looking.
Jimmy hadn't approached the house when he suddenly noticed a black sedan reversing from the garage. As he continued forward, the car had finished reversing and was about to drive off. Jimmy noted the car's make and license plate, then went closer to check the house. This ti the basent was empty, and no one was in the house. The person he had knocked out on the couch the day before was gone too.
He turned around and ran towards his car; he had already morized the direction the sedan had left in. Now, he was going to track that black Chrysler.
Jimmy's driving skills, honed by over a year of professional training, were very adept. He chased the sedan which had left a few minutes before him, maintaining a speed that avoided triggering any speeding alerts.
After passing several cars, Jimmy finally spotted the black Chrysler ahead. He slightly reduced his speed, keeping a car-length distance behind it.
After several turns, the sedan pulled into a rental storage company and stopped at the entrance. A man in a suit got out of the car, carrying a black bag and walked alone towards the storage area.
Jimmy was suddenly invigorated; he was familiar with such places, having his own mini-storage in Little Rock for storing items.
Jimmy drove directly to the security office at the entrance, got out of his car, and said he wanted to rent a storage unit and needed to see it first. He found a security guard to accompany him as they walked towards the storage area, all the while observing ticulously. He was in luck; he had only reached the second row when he saw the man from the Chrysler bending over to lock a storage unit. The man did not have the bag with him anymore; it must have been placed inside.
Walking past with the security guard, Jimmy noted down the storage unit number and then booked a mini-storage on the advice of the security guard, planning to go back and sign the contract later.
As they left the storage area, the Chrysler was back on the road, heading back the way it had co. Jimmy bid farewell to the security guard and continued his pursuit in his car, soon spotting the vehicle after a few minutes. He kept an old habit, following two cars behind, and confird that the route was, in fact, the sa as when they had co—seemingly heading ho.
Jimmy slowed down, changed lanes, and followed from three cars behind, eventually confirming that the car was indeed heading ho.
Not proceeding to follow directly, Jimmy spotted a restaurant by the roadside and stopped for dinner, ntioning to himself that his luck was quite good this ti, what with the unexpected windfall.
Having observed the location of the storage, Jimmy decided to spend so extra cash to rent another vacant storage unit nearby. If it involved the gang leader, there were surely special items stored inside.
After dinner, Jimmy strolled around for a while, fueled up his car, and waited for midnight to arrive.
Jimmy rested in his car for a few hours. At 1 a.m., he started the car and drove towards the target house.
The route was the sa as the one he had taken the night before. Jimmy approached from the back door, perhaps because he had not killed anyone during yesterday's rescue, they did not expect Jimmy to return. There were only two people in the house—one lying on the sofa in the downstairs living room and one on the bed in the upstairs second-floor bedroom; the one upstairs was clearly the target.
Jimmy again put on gloves and a mask, approached the back door, and found it locked. Jimmy looked around and saw that the front kitchen window was not fully closed; there was a small gap. It seed the people inside only paid attention to the back door he had used yesterday, not checking other places as thoroughly.
Jimmy moved to the kitchen window and gently pulled it. It made almost no noise and opened enough to let him through.
He entered the kitchen quietly, constantly observing the person on the sofa. From the ti he opened the window to entering the kitchen, that person hadn't moved at all, apparently sleeping very deeply.
Jimmy looked around; it wasn't ti to use a gun, as waking the person upstairs could complicate things. There wasn't anything handy around, and the sculpture he had used to knock soone out yesterday had been returned to its original place. He had to circle around to near the back door and pick up the sculpture again, then walked towards the sofa.
His sneakers on the carpet allowed Jimmy to walk almost silently, reminding him of a ga he used to play.
This ti, he didn't aim for the head but swung the sculpture sideways at the man's head. After striking with his right hand, his left hand supported the chin and covered the mouth, then he struck again.
After silently taking down one, he climbed the stairs, handgun in left hand, and reached the outside of the gang leader's room.
The bedroom door was gently turned open by Jimmy, and the person inside was still lying on the bed motionless. Holding his pistol, Jimmy first checked the surroundings, the closest gun was on the bedside table, next to which sat a box.
Jimmy quietly walked to the bedside, knocked the boss out with a sculpture. In the past two days, already two people had been taken down by this sculpture, and Jimmy had gotten quite handy with it. He pulled back the blanket, tied the mob boss's hands and feet with zip ties he carried, and stuffed a shirt into the mob boss's mouth.
Jimmy worried that interrogating him here might alert others; he reached down, dragged the mob boss downstairs, and arrived at the basent, which was utterly quiet.
Jimmy slapped him from both sides, and the mob boss finally ca to. True to being a boss, realizing that sothing was wrong, he didn't scream as they did in the movies; instead, he looked around at his surroundings and stared straight at Jimmy.
Jimmy pulled the shirt out of his mouth and said, "I ask, you answer, or you die. Where is Kevin? Is he still alive?"
The mob boss shook his head slightly, "No need to waste ti, Kevin stole my money, there's no way he could survive. That little girl, you rescued her, right? I didn't expect you wouldn't co last night, and yet you returned today. I give up. I don't know who sent you, but can we make a deal?"
Jimmy was a bit stunned; he hadn't dealt with mob bosses like this before, his words were actually mimicked from movies he had watched in the past.
Jimmy: "What deal?"
Mob Boss: "Release ..."
Jimmy didn't let the boss finish speaking, directly shooting him in the head.
Jimmy had prepared himself ntally; today, he was going to kill the mob boss.
The boss had already answered the questions Jimmy wanted to know; Kevin was dead, so Mary was of no use to them anymore. Once the boss was dead, when his n scramble for territory and personnel, naturally, no one would trouble Mary.
As for why not to let him finish speaking, the reason was simple; having watched movies too much, XX dying because of talking too much was sothing he knew well.
Jimmy walked out of the basent and dialed Mia's number.
Jimmy: "I want to order food, give a number."
Jimmy listened as Mia gave him a phone number and called it.
"I'd like to order dinner for two, now, the address is Oakville."
Jimmy reported the address information and then started searching the house for useful things. Since he had decided to get his hands dirty, getting them a bit dirtier didn't matter anymore.
According to Heart Eye, this house except for the basent had no other hidden spaces; obviously, this house was not the place where the Mob Boss stored valuable items, probably all the good stuff was at that warehouse.
Jimmy went straight back to the boss's bedroom, earlier he had been busy with the boss, he hadn't checked the gun on the bedside table yet.
It was a gun he was very familiar with, a Beretta 92F, different from his service type was that this gun had wooden grips instead of the black plastic ones he had.
Jimmy took another look at that box, it was a square wooden gun box, inside were two spare magazines and a suppressor. This was a pleasant surprise, as the police-issued 92F to Jimmy would never co with a suppressor.
Jimmy put the gun into the box and then from the cabinet, found a bag to pack up any cash and the gun box he could find.
Jimmy checked his clothes, casually flipped through the wardrobe for a set of clothes, estimating when he had taken the mob boss downstairs earlier, that he and this guy were roughly the sa size, only that the boss was a bit frail, while he was more robust. The clothes fit reasonably well, not much of a problem, he changed his clothes, put his own set in the bag, took the boss's set of keys, and walked down the stairs.
About 15 minutes later, a van stopped at the front door, and three people got out.
Jimmy opened the door, the leader nodded at him and stretched out his right hand, but not for a handshake, instead with his palm up. Jimmy placed two Gold Coins into his hand.
"One in the living room, one in the basent, and also please clean up the kitchen window and the upstairs bedroom floor. Thank you."
"Yes, sir."
After handing things over to them, Jimmy left the house directly and returned to his car to leave Oakville.
