Recently, Nia started pulling the curtains more often and slightly reduced the number of tis she took Liam to the park, but she always felt like soone was watching her. Though she wasn't as professional as Jimmy, she knew a bit about surveillance rules, and after checking around the house, she found no monitoring equipnt.

This feeling of being watched was horrible; ordinarily, she would've contacted Kevin. While the NYPD technicians weren't the best, they could find surveillance devices. The issue was that Jimmy and the others were supposed to return soon, and without a confird ti, if they arrived when soone else was ho, that would be a problem.

The best approach now was to protect herself. So, even at ho, Nia kept a Glock for self-defense. She did this until she received a call from Jimmy. Jimmy had left an anonymous phone in the basent to ensure no unexpected situations when he returned and needed to contact her first.

Nia pulled the curtains closed, confird that she couldn't be observed from outside, then took Liam to the storeroom and opened the hidden door. "Shh." She put her right index finger to her lips and gestured towards the basent before Jimmy spoke.

Jimmy frowned, signaling Roland to back off, and everyone moved to the basent. Nia gestured for Jimmy to co over and softly whispered in his ear: "Recently, I always feel like soone is watching . I'm not sure if it's just my imagination, but I'm worried about sothing... like monitoring equipnt in the room."

Jimmy imdiately looked up towards the room, speaking in an extrely low voice: "Has anyone been to our house?"

Nia: "No, at least not when I've been ho."

Jimmy pulled Nia's hand to check the ti on her watch; there were about two or three hours until dark. "You go up and act normal; we'll wait here until evening."

Nia nodded to Jimmy and the others, turned around, and went upstairs; two or three hours was not a big problem.

Jimmy quietly explained the situation to Roland. They began searching the basent, not speaking loudly, looking for anything suspicious.

As night fell, Jimmy instructed Roland to stay in the basent for updates while he quietly exited, climbing out of a window at the rear of the house to hide in the shadows and observe the surroundings.

Jimmy's house was a corner of the park, with not too many residential buildings nearby; from his vantage point, he did not notice anyone watching his ho, perhaps he needed a wider view.

Extending the search to the point where Jimmy's house was almost out of view, he confird no anomalies and confidently walked along the street back to his house. If soone was monitoring his house, they weren't targeting Nia and Liam. She had been resting for too long and had no grievances with the outside world; Jimmy was the most likely to cause trouble.

Now, with Jimmy openly on the street, if soone was targeting him, they would notice, and if there was a potential attack, the ti from when he appeared to when he returned ho would be the best window to act.

At the front door, Jimmy did not imdiately open it but stood to the side and called, "Hi, Sloan, it's , Agent Jimmy Yang."

Sloan, the assistant director of the technical departnt at the FBI office, often communicated with Jimmy through the technical departnt, and although Jimmy used an anonymous phone this ti, his voice and na were unmistakable.

Sloan: "Hi, Jimmy, it's been a while since I've received your call. Have you been on vacation?"

Jimmy: "Yes, I just got back. Okay, to keep it short, I need a bit of help from you."

Sloan: "Right now? It's party ti, are you coming?"

Jimmy was speechless, "I haven't been ho for a while, and you know quite a few people want to bother ... Yes, not just a few people, but many enemies, so could I ask you to send soone over to check my house?"

Sloan: "Hold on, let change places."

A minute later, Sloan's tone changed from playful to serious, "Are you sure? Installing surveillance at a senior agent's ho—do your potential enemies have that capability?"

Jimmy: "I'm not sure, but you know, my child is still young, safety first."

Sloan: "Okay, give half an hour."

Jimmy: "Thanks, Sloan, I owe you one."

Jimmy opened the door, gestured to Nia with his finger, called Roland from the basent to leave through the window, and sat in the living room waiting.

Soon, a white van parked in front of Jimmy's house, and three people got out. Before inviting them in, Jimmy signaled them to remain quiet with a gesture, and after nodding, they entered carrying their gear into Jimmy's ho.

Among the three, two were strangers, and the other was familiar, having helped Jimmy design surveillance for the nursery and house. This familiarity reassured him of their safety.

The house had only two floors, and the three swept through each room multiple tis with handheld devices. They returned to the living room, "Agent Yang, we've checked, and besides the previously installed equipnt, we found no other surveillance devices, including caras or listening devices."

Jimmy let out a sigh of relief, "Thank God, as long as we're safe. Thank you all."

The familiar mber gestured: "Hold on, while there is no surveillance, I've noticed the infrared monitoring for the back window was disabled, and there's evidence of movent through the window."

Jimmy ca to the window to check with him; well, after Roland left, Jimmy forgot to re-enable the monitoring and clean the footprints.

Jimmy: "I understand, thank you, please restore the monitoring, and perhaps we need sothing more discreet here, don't you think?"

The technician nodded: "I think adding a cara in the corner of the wall would be better."

Jimmy: "Prepare it for , please, thanks."

After sending them off, Jimmy finally relaxed, knowing a false alarm was better than soone monitoring his ho.

However, Jimmy hadn't yet finished his bath when Nia entered with his phone, "Ruiz's call."

Jimmy raised his eyebrows, took the phone, "Hi, Ruiz... Yes, just back... Okay, tomorrow night, I need a break... Goodbye."

Handing the phone to Nia, Jimmy dazed in the bathtub.

After cleaning up, Jimmy held Liam, playing with him, while listening to Nia's recorded phone conversation notes and recent occurrences, avoiding mistakes in conversations with others.

Nia was only responsible for speaking; analyzing the situation here was Jimmy's job. So things were unclear to Nia, like after Peter called him, Ruiz also reached out, but there was no further news.

Evidently, Ruiz convinced Peter, whatever favor Peter needed was refused, symbolizing the New York office's unwillingness to involve him further in cases, regardless of size, indicating he was completely shelved.

Jimmy had just called Sloan today, arranged for a check on the house, and within ten minutes after receiving the results, Ruiz reached out to arrange a eting, clearly soone was watching him, a treatnt not typically for soone shelved.

Perhaps Jimmy overthought, or perhaps Nia's feeling was correct, indeed soone was watching her, or rather watching the house, awaiting his appearance.
