This ti it was really dangerous. If he hadn't seen the core in advance, and all his subsequent attacks hadn't been focused on the core, maybe even after he'd used all his bullets, the monster might not have been killed.
Of course, his own safety should still be assured; at least if he really wanted to escape, it would definitely be much easier than killing the monster. That monster clearly didn't have many physical attack ans, just relying on biting and entangling for physical attacks, Jimmy's agile maneuvering could definitely evade those. However, if he brought it to the outside world, it would probably scare quite a few people.
These wounds on his body would take so ti to heal, and Jimmy didn't dare to let the wounds touch water, to prevent the already disinfected and stopped bleeding wounds from getting infected again. So he just used a wet towel to wipe other areas without wounds, and a simple cleaning was considered done.
Lying on the bed, he checked the ti, called Nia to chat for a bit, and listened to little Liam's cooing sounds before falling asleep peacefully.
Taking advantage of the free ti, Jimmy road around Little Rock, looked at the places he used to live, chatted with friends at the police station, had a soda at Justin's bar. Life was still relatively normal; of course, the most important thing was attending a family gathering at Jas' place. Mary wanted to thank Jimmy in person, as she only learned from Jas after returning what had truly happened.
The supernatural incident wasn't widely known. Jas knew about it because he was the police chief at the ti, and there were things he needed to know. Jimmy and Cage even attended the church's exorcism ceremony on his instructions, so he wasn't surprised that Jimmy killed the monster to save Mary and others.
Mary was completely different. She was just an ordinary housewife and had never experienced sothing so bizarre over the years. Jas ntioned that her abnormal behavior and comatose state in recent days really scared her. So, she was naturally very grateful to Jimmy for what he'd done.
This al was indeed a joyous one, except that Jas originally planned to invite Priest Royte and Cage, but one declined politely, and the other had to be on duty. So only Jimmy attended.
However, it wasn't that Cage deliberately didn't co; it was mainly because the matter Jimmy stirred up left him and Noah in a scramble. That drugged-up guy wasn't lucky; even though they provided ergency treatnt, drug overdose left him delirious. A bag containing mixed blue and semi-transparent white powder found on him nearly got the hospital doctors in trouble; a bit of powder spilled during item collection, but they were lucky to dodge it and didn't inhale.
After testing the composition, the doctors were shocked. This thamphetamine was not only different in color from what was previously known, but its purity was explosive. It was also their first ti seeing th of this color, so they directly reported it to the police station.
Noah, upon learning of the situation, inford Cage. Since it was sothing unfamiliar, the two were reluctant to handle it and simply contacted the DEA, waiting for them to co over and deal with it.
The county police, after all, had limited personnel, and handling such trivial matters provided no benefits but couldn't be ignored. The best course was to hand it over, avoiding any follow-up involvent.
Soone from the DEA picked up that small bag of powder, then under Cage and Noah's guidance, took that heavily drugged fool from the hospital and left. Cage and his team worked hard, wrote reports, and only then did they wrap up this ssy situation.
After work in the evening, Cage called out Jimmy for a drink, and they ended up choosing Justin's bar again. Well, the bar was not far from the police station, and they were already accustod to drinking there. Plus, Justin managed the bar well, with fewer troubles.
Sitting at the bar counter, Jimmy chatted with Cage about the events after he left, and also congratulated Cage on his son Nick successfully completing his rookie training period and becoming a veteran police officer.
There weren't many people today; Justin also joined in the chat, and then the conversation shifted to the incident he'd just handed over to the DEA.
Though Cage was a seasoned cop, his main duties were patrol and routine police work in the past. Most of the ti now he sat in an office, and it was his first experience with such high-purity stuff, "Can you believe it? Over 90% purity stuff, yet it still seems to have been cut with other proportions. That guy's lucky he didn't die from taking it directly."
Jimmy sighed, shaking his head. "Those fools dying from an overdose isn't surprising, but have you investigated the rest of the group? Do they have..."
Cage: "All the registration information has been handed over to the DEA; they're investigating, not my concern. Are you interested?"
Jimmy: "No, this is your local affair, nothing to do with us in New York."
Justin suddenly spoke: "Not necessarily unrelated, I've heard this blue stuff is already nationwide; New York definitely has it as well."
Jimmy looked at Justin; he wouldn't interject without reason, "Why? Is there so inside information?"
Justin: "A few days ago, people from the city bureau were drinking here and ntioned sothing. Your acquaintance, Jones from 14th Street, got taken out, and it's because of this."
Cage looked at Justin in surprise: "Hey, man, your sources are pretty inford. I only just found out two days ago.
Jimmy blinked, "Acquaintance? I have no impression of that?"
Cage: "Not exactly an acquaintance, but you should've dealt with him. Do you rember the issue with the missing gun?"
Jimmy tried to recall and finally rembered this piece of old history from years ago. His apartnt had been robbed of two guns; he indeed sought out a gang person, initially thinking it was their people who robbed him. That thing was resolved smoothly later on; it's been years, who would still rember that?
Justin was familiar with underground world matters, and it made sense he rembered such small stuff related to Jimmy, but why would Cage rember so clearly?
Jimmy looked at Cage in confusion, and Cage shrugged, "Because during your ti back then, they were troubled for quite a while. Although it wasn't terribly damaging, they were harassed for quite a ti. It's perfectly normal for to rember."
Jimmy: "Alright, Justin, you said he died because of this blue stuff? What's going on?"
Justin: "Territorial fight, 14th Street now belongs to a bunch of old factions. They're shipping a lot; now even street gangsters have so of these."
Jimmy blinked, nodding at Justin, then continued chatting with Cage. After finishing their drinks and leaving, Jimmy returned to the bar alone, where Justin opened a small room door and let Jimmy in.
Jimmy looked at Justin and asked, "Why are you suddenly concerned about this thing?"
Justin shrugged: "Soone set up a big reward for investigating the source and channels of this batch of blue th, but it's been posted for a while and there's been no intel. I only rembered when hearing you guys ntion it, are you interested in making a little side cash?"
Jimmy frowned, staring at Justin, "What I hate most are these drug dealers, what are you trying to say?"
Justin actually regretted the mont he finished speaking, realizing Jimmy's expression changed right after hearing his words. He quickly waved his hand as he hadn't had ti to explain, "Calm down, I'm just saying there's such a reward, you know, I'm only trying to earn commission, I won't get involved in these things."
It'd been a while since he'd last interacted with Jimmy, and he'd really forgotten how Jimmy always directly handled drug dealers ruthlessly; he spoke too quickly and crashed into a brick wall.
Jimmy didn't speak, just looked at Justin. After more than ten seconds, Justin finally couldn't withstand that slightly fierce stare of his, saying, "Okay, I can tell you everything I know."
(Delayed for a while, sorry, the recent update has been a bit unstable.)
