Nia of course knew the sensitive nature of Roland's identity, but today's events were so beyond her cognitive limits that she made multiple elentary errors during the family doctor's check-up and questioning. Fortunately, she corrected herself in ti, avoiding major misunderstandings.

Luckily, this family doctor was not a psychologist. There were only errors in answering questions, not issues with her mind. It was determined that she temporarily had no problems, thus there was no need to go to the hospital for a check-up, she just needed more rest.

When the doctor was leaving, he specifically called Jimmy aside, asking him to pay more attention to Nia's ntal state. Perhaps because this was her first pregnancy, the doctor felt Nia was overly nervous, suggesting that Jimmy should talk to her more often to prevent excessive tension, which would not be good for her or the baby.

Jimmy, of course, earnestly followed the doctor's advice. After seeing him off, he returned to the living room and sat next to Nia, "Still thinking about Roland?"

Nia nodded, just about to speak when Jimmy imdiately interrupted her, "There are so things I haven't told you. I'm not particularly familiar with Roland, especially his past. He hasn't talked much to about his world, but I've known Roland for many years. As far as I can see, he has no ill will toward us, so I haven't pursued these matters any further."

Nia: "Is he a mage? Like in the movies, where they just open a portal and leave this world or sothing."

Jimmy blinked, "Why would you think that?"

Nia: "A portal, isn't that sothing those mages use?"

Jimmy could only shake his head, "I've never seen him use magic, so probably not. If he cos back next ti, you can ask him yourself?"

Speaking of which, Jimmy laughed a bit himself. To be honest, if he inquired about the situation over at the Dark Tower, Roland would definitely see it as him being willing to go to the Dark Tower World, just gathering information ahead of ti. But if Nia asked, it would probably just be out of curiosity. In that case, maybe Roland would really share so things about the Dark Tower World with Nia, which wouldn't concern Jimmy; at least it wouldn't be him leaking the information.

Nia: "Then what does he actually do? And what's the deal with that portal? Can non-mages open portals too?"

Jimmy was a bit stunned. Roland's identity is a Gunman, but he's not really clear on what a Gunman is about. The key is that there's no way to explain the portal, "I really don't know. I only know he has responsibilities similar to those sheriffs of our western era over there, resolving matters that ordinary people can't handle, and they have their own designation, gunslinger, Gunslinger."

Jimmy patted Nia, "Alright, don't think too much about it. He's already gone back, and it'll be quite a while before we see him. Oh, and don't tell anyone about Roland, including Kevin and them."

Nia furrowed her brows, thought for a mont, and nodded, "I understand, I won't ntion it to anyone else."

Jimmy: "Mhm, so things must be kept confidential. If others find out, it could be very troubleso."

No matter how Nia actually felt about it, for now, things seed to have temporarily stabilized with her. Such coincidences really leave people speechless. Originally, Roland, the Dark Tower World, and the portal in the basent all needed to be rigorously kept secret. Jimmy waited until he confird Nia had left for work, knowing no one would co over at this ti, to join Roland in the basent to open the portal and send him back. It was also the first ti to witness the portal opening, and it went wrong the first ti.

All of this was because Jimmy had previously placed many things in front of the portal wall as a cover, and moving things back and forth was ti-consuming. He just happened to not look up to observe the room at this particular ti, and Nia just happened to co back. Such unexpected situations always catch people off guard.

But fortunately, Nia is not the type to blab, and at least in the short term, she probably won't leak anything. We'll just have to see how things develop from here.

Since Nia beca pregnant, the most nervous person was Jimmy, but ironically, the most concerned were the people from the Church. After conducting a blessing ceremony for Nia, Father White returned to Staten Island. The one who often saw Jimmy and Nia was Father Rodney. After this small building was completed, Father Rodney even ca over for an inspection to ensure there was nothing unclean here.

Apart from that inspection, they basically invited Jimmy and Nia to the church every week, with a missionary intent, of course. After all, Nia wasn't officially a believer, which to them was potentially a hidden threat. After all, their target was not really Jimmy, the adult, but the child in Nia's womb.

The Church is very skilled at making long-term plans, and their execution is also strong. It's undeniable that there are indeed many pests, but those above a certain level are still very clear-headed. After determining plans with other high-level mbers like Father White, the chosen executors of these plans are fairly reliable, so Jimmy and Nia's interactions with the Church in this ti have been very smooth and trouble-free, without any unexpected conflicts.

Jimmy had known for a long ti that the Church had set their sights on his child, but he never had a good way to refuse them. After all, at this societal level, the Church's subtle influence is still quite imnse; whether in politics or among the people, there are a vast number of believers or those hoping to gain favors who cooperate with them. To straightforwardly reject and detach from the Church might lead to being targeted by them, and certain matters that are usually easy could beco very difficult with their interference.
