The two couldn't stay in the room forever, so Jimmy pushed Roland out the door and after wandering around a bit outside, they went to Jimmy's apartnt.

In Jimmy's study, Jimmy opened the safe, took out a revolver, and placed it on the table. He then took out his own two revolvers from his holster and laid them together, "Roland, I want you to take a look at this."

Roland picked up the gun with a frown and examined it carefully.

This gun was found by Jimmy when he was handling a case in Texas. At that ti, an accident happened in a small village, and Jimmy, working with the Church, took down a shadow beast and found this gun in its lair.

While Roland was examining the gun, Jimmy told him about the discovery process, especially about the shadow beast. This kind of monster had appeared decades ago, then disappeared for a while, and now it had erged again. As the locals said, it reappears every 30 to 40 years, which was quite unusual.

In fact, when Jimmy discovered the gun, he suspected that the shadow beast was not a native Earth creature. It was obvious it had co from the Dark Tower World or so other world.

Jimmy: "So, Roland, I want to ask you, did you gunn travel across multiple worlds in the past?"

Roland nodded: "There used to be quite a few of us, but I'm not familiar with their previous experiences. From this gun, I can't tell whose it is for now, but it's undoubtedly from one of us."

Jimmy: "So, did the shadow beast kill him?"

Roland shook his head: "Maybe it wasn't killed by it, but there's no doubt the gun was brought here by the beast. Is there only one?"

Jimmy nodded: "The Church people only found this one while clearing the lair, and no one has inford of any other discoveries. By the way, have you seen this kind of shadow beast before?"

Roland: "Vampires? There are too many types of monsters, I don't know them all, but it's not ruled out that this type of monster would travel worlds to get here. Since they appear every few decades, it's clear this creature doesn't always exist here."

Jimmy: "Hmm, the lair doesn't look like a place where a monster lived for decades. If it really had decades of history, there might be more shadow beasts there, but in fact, we only found one. It's highly likely it ca here by accident, and it lacks the ability to reproduce. Apart from killing and sucking blood, no baby shadow beasts or similar cases have been found around. We can only say we're lucky."

Roland put the gun back on the table. "Keep the gun; I can't tell whose it is, but it doesn't matter anymore. Our world is headed for decline; maybe gunn are no longer needed. However, with more geological changes and more monsters, eventually, there may be no one who can handle them anymore."

Jimmy was speechless, how did it go back to the Dark Tower World disaster again... He put the gun back into the safe and his holster, and pushed Roland to the living room, opened the fridge, took out a beer for Roland, and sat next to him asking: "Roland, how do you plan to return to your world after you co over this ti?"

Roland took a sip of beer and looked at Jimmy: "Either return the way I ca or through another door. New York is a good place; there's a door here that can take back."

Jimmy asked in surprise: "In New York? Where?"

Roland: "Brooklyn, in the basent of an abandoned building. It's a fixed door; when it was built is unclear, but as long as there's enough energy, it can directly reach my world."

Jimmy was stunned; he originally thought Roland traveled between the two worlds through spatial rifts. He didn't expect there to be a fixed door, and no one else noticed such a conspicuous cross-world behavior? "Are you saying it's a fixed door? Does it work all the ti?"

Roland: "The door is always there, but opening it requires energy, plus you need to locate world coordinates."

Seeing Jimmy was still a bit confused, Roland further explained: "These doors for traveling between worlds weren't built recently. In the early Dark Tower World, they used to be quite powerful, but specifically when these fixed portals were established is untraceable. The thod of creating them has disappeared in the current of history. Currently, only a very few doors still exist, not sothing you can find easily."

Jimmy: "Does this an if you find a door, you can travel between the two worlds anyti?"

Roland: "No, running the door requires a lot of energy; it's not that easy."

Jimmy: "Since it's been around for so long, have many people crossed into the Dark Tower World? Or co from there to Earth?"

Roland said nothing, but rembered when he first arrived on Earth. The man in black commanded many subordinates to co to Earth to find him and Jack. Indeed, many people had crossed over, and at that ti, the door seed to have been manipulated by the man in black and his group. Perhaps they had the way to make doors? Of course, it was no longer necessary to consider this, since the man in black was already dead and his base had exploded.

Seeing Roland fall silent, Jimmy didn't press the question further, but instead changed the topic: "Roland, why didn't you use the previous door to return to New York?"

Roland sighed: "It was too far away. After roaming around for a while in that world, by the ti I wanted to co back to find you, I had lost the location of the prior door."

Jimmy was speechless, "Can only specific doors be used to travel back? Or is the number of doors too few? Besides the door you know, do you not know the location of other doors?"

Roland remained silent for a mont, then nodded: "There really are very few doors."

Jimmy looked at Roland; since he still needed so ti for his leg injury to heal, he shouldn't return to that world for now. "Can I see that door?"

Roland: "Do you want to co back with ?"

Jimmy: "No, I just want to learn more. Roland, my ho, my life, my everything is here..."

Roland fell silent again, and after a while, he said: "Now is not the ti, wait till I leave and I'll take you there."

Jimmy nodded and suddenly thought of a question: "Wait, I realized a serious problem, Roland, you said the door is in the basent of an abandoned building, right?"

Roland nodded, confused, looking at Jimmy. Jimmy continued: "Then is there a chance that place could be occupied or demolished and rebuilt? Would it affect the door?"

Roland frowned, thought for a mont, and said: "It shouldn't. That place hasn't changed in over twenty years, at least it was the sa when I left before."

Jimmy: "Not necessarily, New York has developed rapidly in these years. Brooklyn has had many places demolished and rebuilt into comrcial real estate, and many places have been renovated... If there is a problem, would you be unable to go back?"

Roland's expression was grave as well. If this door is gone, Jimmy would no longer be able to co back with him. Next ti, finding a suitable rift for traveling back and forth would be uncertain. He didn't want to bring Jimmy over only for him to end up on a one-way trip, living out his days in the Dark Tower World. He only hoped that bringing him back would let the mages confirm if the Black Rainbow could stabilize the world's magical energy.

Seeing Roland's expression, Jimmy knew he hadn't considered this problem before. Perhaps it was the decades of unchanged abandoned building that unconsciously made him believe the place would never change. But given the current period of urban expansion, even abandoned places have potential developnt value in a place like New York, a city where every inch of land is precious.
