So were following the direction Jimmy left, while others conducted a thorough check inside the villa to prevent anyone from coming in from other places.
Such a commotion woke up the servants in the manor, but they were ordered by the security guards to stay in their rooms and not co out, so at least there was no chaos inside the villa, but the idea of getting a good night's sleep was out of the question.
Jimmy's shot didn't cause any harm, but it sent Mrs. Harriton a very wrong signal; the opponent was there to demonstrate, not to enter the house and kill anyone directly.
Mrs. Harriton discussed with her close bodyguard and ca up with this uncertain thought.
Under the circumstances, the opponent was simply impossible to realize the security inside the villa already knew soone was coming and was prepared to ambush in the rooms. Therefore, it was easy to determine the opponent's purpose was indeed a warning, just not clear who was warning her, but one thing must be considered, to imdiately evacuate the manor. It's no longer safe here; information about her returning to the manor had already leaked.
Not many knew she returned to the manor, and the servants and security in the manor were very certain they had not contacted anyone outside, so the only possibility was the family lawyer and those who attended the eting that day.
Mrs. Harriton still trusts family lawyer Sebastian very much, and the next step is to find soone to investigate those people. Her mission as bait was complete; now is the ti to ensure safety.
Her bodyguards did agree with the transfer, but they didn't suggest moving right now. The people earlier might be trying to lure them out of the manor; at night, it's not possible to ensure her safety in case there is an ambush outside. No matter from which angle she considered, the opponent shouldn't have organized such a person to warn her, unless there are conflicting reasons, like soone betrayed her by providing her situation to adversaries while worrying for her safety, arranging a warning before the adversary struck, urging her to leave the manor.
But such reasoning only made it harder for her to determine who did it. Given the current circumstances, she could only list all the attendees of that eting as suspects.
Mrs. Harriton used to be a housewife for a long ti and did not participate in the operation or networking of the family business. Her previous business experience was not considered much, so facing such a complex scene now, she could only attempt to get so advice from others.

While Mrs. Harriton was busy moving to a safe house, Lester was not having an easy ti either. He had been staying at his safe house for days, always arranging company matters remotely and also had soone investigate Mrs. Harriton's situation, but so far, he hadn't gotten any useful information.

With Pete dead, no matter how he thought about it, Mrs. Harriton seed the most suspicious. She undoubtedly knew about his transactions with Pete; she might not send soone to kill him, but targeting him deliberately within the company and cleaning out his subordinates was doable. It's a big shareholder and CEO's prerogative.
Lester already knew the participants of the eting, but he could only defend passively now. After contacting so people, he halted all actions, focusing on waiting for outside news from his safe house.
What he didn't expect was, he quickly received news soone invaded Harriton's manor and fired shots. Although Mrs. Harriton was unhard, she did leave the manor, currently investigating who was responsible.
This information ca from a middleman intelligence dealer, which could confirm its accuracy; he shredded significant paynt to buy the intel, yet who's behind this operation was still unknown.
Lester himself didn't make a move; this action indicated soone else was targeting Mrs. Harriton, evidently aiming for her life. Harriton's death was no end; the people behind would root out threats thoroughly, so Lester had no need to act, only await the final outco.
Lester took a bottle of wine and a glass from the nearby shelf; staying at the safe house for so long, he could finally relax a bit.
