Jimmy's visit this ti is entirely justified. After all, he got the information from Mrs. Harriton, the widow of the deceased Harriton, so there is no issue with the process. Lester's pale face and poor attitude were within his expectations. Even if he went to the FBI to complain about Jimmy, there's no violation.
Jimmy has already asked the questions he wanted to, and now he's waiting for Lester to respond.
Lester's expression changed several tis before he finally spoke, "The last ti I saw Harriton was two months ago at the board eting. A month ago, I did not go to that island. Recently, apart from a few business trips, I've been staying in Los Angeles."
Jimmy: "But soone said that you also attended the last gathering on the island before Mr. Harriton's death. You know, I'm just doing preliminary investigations now. If, I an if, later investigations contradict your account, perhaps the next ti we et won't be in your living room."
Lester: "I'm sure I didn't attend that gathering."
Jimmy: "What about before that?"
Lester: "I don't rember. Are there any other questions? I have a lot to do next."
Jimmy: "Alright then, I'll take my leave."
Jimmy stood up and shook hands with Lester. Just as he turned around, he stopped, looked back at Lester, and took out a sheet of paper from his pocket: "Oh, I forgot, there's one more thing. Mr. Lester, regarding so of your large financial movents, I hope you can provide a reasonable explanation. After all, you probably guessed by now, Mr. Harriton was hired to be killed by soone, and absolutely by a professional. Such people don't co cheap."
Jimmy didn't hand the paper to Lester but unfolded it and held it in his hand to show him. It was printed from the attachnt in Peter's email, with several large financial transactions marked prominently by Peter.
Lester glanced at it: "What's it got to do with ?"
Jimmy: "Just take a look, I hope to get your response soon. Goodbye, Mr. Lester."
Jimmy put away the paper, turned, and left Lester's apartnt. He had shown Lester the evidence he had, whether Lester saw it clearly or not. Anyway, in the coming days, Lester probably won't sleep well, damn rich people.
Leaving the building, Jimmy glanced back. From now on, Lester should take further action. Maybe the pressure on Mrs. Harriton will be quite intense. Should he consider raising the stakes?
Sitting in the car and leaving, at a gas station, Jimmy got out to buy a bottle of water at the convenience store, sitting in the car contemplating. He decided to continue, at least visit a few shareholders of the Harriton Foundation.
The other people's shares are much less compared to Harriton and Lester's, but stirring things up won't hurt them either.
Having the FBI knock on your door isn't good. Except for one person who avoids contact, Jimmy managed to et and talk to several others, with decent results. Especially when Jimmy suggested soone might hire a killer for personal gain, with the suspect possibly familiar with Harriton, their faces turned sour, indicating Harriton might not have had a good relationship with his partners; they didn't seem too upset.
Mrs. Harriton showed so emotional fluctuation when Jimmy ntioned her husband, while the others remained calm, so even showing so schadenfreude until Jimmy nad them as potential suspects, causing them to explode in anger.
That's how the day quietly passed. The long-awaited news for Jimmy finally arrived. Dave called him in the evening, telling Jimmy to find a fax machine tomorrow, as he would fax a docunt to him.
It took a whole day, and the people behind Dave seem to be moving slowly. Maybe they needed to discuss the target, but it's undeniable that there were issues between them, leading to the delay. However, this has nothing to do with ; it's just as being used as a tool. The more trouble I stir up, the more they have to handle themselves.
Still, the information from Dave surprised Jimmy. There were only four people on it, but three weren't in Los Angeles; one in San Francisco, the other two were in New York.
What does Dave intend to do? Is this going to involve everyone? How can he connect them, being so far apart? This obviously is making things difficult for !
Jimmy complained while looking at the information, determined to stir things up regardless. Jimmy took out two papers he had collected earlier from a storage locker and flicked them, "Alright, guess you're out of luck."
Whether one or many, it's still getting caught up. Let's just roll with it. It doesn't matter who gave the information; let's hype it up.
However, before Jimmy took action, he routinely decided to hassle Mrs. Harriton again. After all, the initial information ca from her. Now that Jimmy had t the others, he needed to check the impact, and theoretically, overnight they should take so action.
He dialed Mrs. Harriton's number, scheduled an afternoon eting at the company, then followed the details in the report to find today's first victim.
