Jimmy had so doubts about Dave asking him not to rush and to investigate slowly, but he couldn't directly voice them. After sipping his coffee, he said, "Even if you want to move quickly with this case, it's not possible. The killer is too professional, and we can't find the mastermind behind it. I estimate it might take one or two months to see any results."

Dave: "Hmm, I understand your anxiety, but Jimmy, I wonder if you've ever looked at those old case files?"

Jimmy nodded, then shook his head, his face showing so perplexity and his brows furrowed.

Seeing Jimmy's confusion, Dave continued, "Our process for investigating major cases is quite complex. We need to clarify all leads and evidence corresponding to those leads, so the investigation period is typically long and often requires cross-departnt collaboration.

I've reviewed the cases you've handled before; most of them were concluded swiftly, moving into the prosecution and resolution phase within a month or two, even major ones like the headquarters' kidnapping case. I admit you've done well in that, but sotis you should consider other thods..."

Dave didn't finish, but he made it very clear. This was, in fact, a headache for them.

The FBI is the Federation police, responsible for maintaining social stability and handling major cases. For case-handling speed, the faster the results, the better. But the FBI is also a huge organization, with varying circumstances and challenges across different branches, and accordingly, differences in personnel count and strength.

Soone like Jimmy is indeed an exceptional talent among all the agents. When you compare his achievents against others, it makes others appear diocre, which is quite unfair. If Jimmy were just an ordinary person, that'd be one thing. However, his skills are too exceptional for anyone to want to set him aside or force him out of the FBI. However, deploying him might incite hostility from another group—hostility so palpable that it doesn't need to be said out loud for everyone to feel it.

When Jimmy was promoted to an SSS rank at such a young age, Dave originally had significant doubts. It wasn't that his rits were lacking, but it made Jimmy a target of attention. It wasn't just the New York division; headquarters and others who knew of Jimmy were also focused on him. But at the ti, it had reached the point where doing nothing wasn't an option. Continuing to suppress him could have driven Jimmy away, and headquarters was already preparing to snatch him away.

What's even more crucial is that others might find out that no matter how hard the lower ranks work, it's futile. If soone with such significant achievents can't get promoted, the negative example might exceed the expectations of those at the top. After making so deals, they placed Jimmy in a completely idle position to avoid him getting any more attention in the near future.

This explosion case was indeed massive. Harriton wasn't an ordinary wealthy man; he had connections with many people, with so applying pressure from the top down to rush a conclusion. So headquarters thought of Jimmy, who had just accomplished major feats there, as his record could quiet many critics.

But shortly after reaching the island, Jimmy uncovered a case about the kidnapping and imprisonnt of a minor girl, with footage capturing incriminating evidence against certain people. Even though there was no follow-up, everyone understood what the consequences would be.

Miami's office forcibly took over Jimmy's investigative rights not because he overstepped by investigating another case. In fact, Jimmy had every reason to continue the investigation, as it related to Harriton's death. After all, such a scandal could indeed be the reason for soone to hire a hitman to kill him.

However, everyone knows if soone like Jimmy continued the investigation, the muddy waters below would indeed be stirred, and who gets mired in the dirty stink is uncertain.

Besides taking over the case, they were also continuously monitoring Jimmy and his team's investigative progress. Initially, Dave didn't need to co over, but Mark's appearance in Los Angeles forced them to intervene again.

Jimmy wasn't aware of these intricacies, but he understood Dave's words. He placed his coffee cup on the table and glanced at Dave, saying, "Anyone can drag out ti, and I can do it too, but... doesn't that an no one really cares about the result of this case now?"

Dave's lips curled down, full of disdain: "Absolutely not. Don't underestimate certain people's fear of assassination. They value their lives more than anyone else. However, what they need is just a conclusion, one that gives them peace of mind."

Jimmy: "Then they're going to be disappointed. I can confirm this is a murder-for-hire case. The person behind it hired such professionals at a high cost, which ans they are wealthy, likely have a lot of cash, and a large-scale fund mobilization can easily cause issues. Soone who can achieve this is definitely not rely having so money."

Dave nodded: "I can guess as much, but just conduct your normal investigation."

Jimmy: "No problem."

Dave poured Jimmy another cup of coffee from the pot, they chatted for a while before Jimmy got up and took his leave.
