The eting did not conclude imdiately. After inquiries from the main departnts ended, Deputy Director Roberts didn't directly dismiss the eting. Instead, he began asking Peter about the situation in the other offices. This case involves the Washington office, the Missouri Saint Louis office, the Utah Salt Lake City office, and the New xico Albuquerque office, marking it as a significantly large operation. As the headquarters, there are many considerations to account for.

In the past two days, Peter has been in contact with other offices. Of course, he hasn't undermined their contributions during the investigation and spoke positively about them during the eting.

However, the Saint Louis office was rather unlucky this ti. Jimmy and his team had already conducted a thorough preliminary investigation. The Saint Louis office only assisted with an on-site investigation and didn't have much to show for it. In comparison, the other offices fared better, either apprehending people or rescuing individuals, ultimately achieving tangible results.

Now, with Deputy Director Roberts questioning them in front of so many people, it's likely he'll take so action afterward. Whether it results in rewards or penalties will entirely depend on the headquarters' discretion.

This case covers a wide range. For the experienced Deputy Director Roberts, it's the perfect opportunity to demonstrate his managerial skills, especially since this case is being handled directly by headquarters. Although he didn't get involved at the beginning, that doesn't stop him from reaping significant benefits during the final handling stages. This includes coordinating personnel from other departnts to assist with closing the case, striving to reach a conclusion before Christmas.

While the investigation and arrests were swift, the case isn't considered complete until the federal prosecutor files charges and court proceedings are concluded. For federal prosecutors and federal courts, nurous cases like this require their attention, and they can't just swiftly handle this one. This is when leadership and personal charisma co into play.

Since Deputy Director Roberts is now leading the follow-up process, Peter has no choice but to relinquish authority. Throughout the eting, he barely spoke, aside from addressing so questions, remaining as transparent as possible.

The eting didn't last much longer after that and ended quite promptly. Of course, it was dinner ti already. Jimmy wouldn't be heading back to New York just yet. He was advised to stay at headquarters for two more days to monitor the situation. As the eting concluded, the Public Affairs Office specifically reminded him that it would be quite busy for the next couple of days and hoped he would remain on standby there.

Peter had already arranged for a hotel reservation and took Jimmy to a small welco party in the evening, where he t a few agents from the headquarters. With that, Jimmy was free to return to the hotel, where he had a long phone chat with Nia before washing up and going to bed. Despite the absence of surprises in this professional-heavy eting, the pressure was still imnse.

Seizing the opportunity, Jimmy borrowed a car from headquarters early in the morning to et up with so friends for a chat. Since he was already in Washington, D.C., and without any urgent matters, socializing was the logical choice over mindlessly wandering around. Besides, he had no interest in sightseeing around Washington, D.C. The places he wanted to visit were inaccessible, and the rest didn't intrigue him much.

The news reached the academy at Quantico rather quickly. Headquarters hadn't even finalized anything yet, but forr colleagues and instructors were already calling to congratulate him on contributing another classic case and urged him to visit when he could, perhaps even conduct so training. It could serve as a sort of relaxation.

These jokers couldn't stand seeing him doing well. Those who beca full-ti instructors were either retiring to a secondary role or specialists in so field. When Jimmy initially went to Quantico, he indeed had the idea of avoiding troubleso matters. If he were genuinely made a full-ti instructor, he'd rather resign, given he had enough money to live comfortably.

However, the advantage of being at Quantico is the abundance of downti. For Jimmy, serving as a firearms instructor and case analyst didn't actually involve heavy responsibilities, allowing him to treat it almost like a vacation. It's just that the overly idle lifestyle lacked excitent and vigor, leaving him sowhat uncomfortable.

After promising to visit them later, Jimmy put the matter aside. Although Quantico isn't far from Washington, D.C., it wasn't a priority for him at the mont. The case details weren't fully prepared yet, and once everything was ready, he'd stop by, just like with the previous hijacking case, to share case insights not docunted on paper.

The US Secret Service's John and his team happened to be in Washington as well, without being out on assignnt. eting up for a chat and so coffee was straightforward. On the other hand, visiting Mrs. Waltz was a bit more challenging—not only was it a bit farther away, but Jimmy rarely contacted her. A sudden visit felt sowhat abrupt.

Nevertheless, with so free ti on hand, he had to muster up the courage to visit. He called ahead to ensure she was at her cabin before heading out from Washington, D.C., of course, picking up so gifts along the way. Arriving empty-handed would've been impolite.

Mrs. Waltz was as usual, rarely leaving her cabin due to mobility issues. However, this ti Jimmy didn't see her grandson Sam but was greeted by a middle-aged woman, presumably a hired help.
