Jimmy started the car, stuck his head out the window, and waved to the agent behind. The two cars slowly approached each other. As they were about to arrive, Jimmy turned on the police lights and siren. After parking, the three of them pulled out their guns and went inside.
"FBI, we have a search warrant."
Jimmy shouted from the front while using Heart Eye to observe the two people inside. They didn't react when the sirens went off, already accustod to hearing them at night, so they didn't see it as a big issue. However, the appearance of the FBI scared them, and just as they were about to run out, Jimmy and the others blocked them in a cleared-out small space.
"FBI, don't move." Jimmy and the others aid their guns at the two n, who straightforwardly raised their hands, "We have a search warrant. Which one of you is Rattlesnake?"
The two n exchanged a glance, and one of them, a man with slightly curly hair, said to Jimmy, "I don't know who you're talking about; there's only the two of us here."
Jimmy: "No matter, you're coming with us. Soone will identify you. Get them into the car."
Jimmy waved his hand, and two agents stepped forward to grab the n. The two shouted in panic, "Why? We haven't done anything wrong," struggling and making it difficult for the agents to control both at once.
Jimmy also ca forward, grabbing one man's arm and twisting it behind his back with slight force, "Save your strength. We ca here with a search warrant. Do you want to go through your basent?"
After Jimmy spoke, the two n stopped struggling, and the two support agents looked at Jimmy in surprise, handcuffing the two n, "Take them away."
No one asked about the basent again, and the five of them left the building in two cars.
The basent, of course, had already been discovered by Jimmy, with the entrance under their bed, which was actually made of two wooden crates to conceal the basent entrance.
Jimmy was sure there was no one in the basent, although there appeared to be so goods inside. If Ruiz hadn't tipped him off earlier, Jimmy would have thought of a way to dig out the things in the basent to get at them, but now he couldn't, lest it put Ruiz in a difficult position.
When they returned to the station, Mark and Julia's team had already had George do one round of identification. Now, they just needed Jimmy's team to return for further identification, then unrelated persons could leave.
Jimmy brought his team to the interrogation room, had the agents put the two n inside, and then went to the adjacent interrogation room to bring out George, standing by the one-way glass: "George, is Rattlesnake among them?"
George shook his head, "No, none of the people I saw today is Rattlesnake."
Jimmy looked at George, "Are you sure? Today's three batches ca from the two spots and one warehouse you provided."
George: "I'm sure. I've had several dealings with Rattlesnake; I would definitely recognize him."
Jimmy thought for a mont and then said to the agents behind, "Register their information and let them go."
Once the two agents left to work, Jimmy took George to the neighboring interrogation room, "Are you sure Rattlesnake was at these spots?"
George: "I'm sure. I've seen him in these places."
Jimmy: "Okay, can you find him if I give you a phone?"
George: "I need my phone."
Jimmy nodded, "Let confirm that. Soone will take you back soon."
After speaking, Jimmy left the interrogation room. After being once intimidated, George was now extrely cooperative. The Federal Prison was not like local ones; for the FBI, it was simple to arrange sothing minor to handle him. He had to cooperate now since he was definitely going to prison; there was no doubt about that.
Everything was progressing smoothly. Early the next morning, Jimmy went to find Ruiz, greeted him, and managed to check out George's phone so that he could temporarily contact others to find Rattlesnake's location.
The reason for finding Ruiz was that Agent Lars had not returned to work yet. Having recently suffered a gunshot wound, she needed a day or two to recuperate. The evidence from the kidnapping case was stored under her arrangent; directly taking it out wouldn't have been proper, but with Ruiz's arrangent, there was no issue.
Sotis one has to admit that those involved in the underworld really have rich resources. George only had to make a few calls to successfully obtain the address, so Jimmy had Mark and Julia go directly to arrest the person.
This ti, there was no search warrant. If they didn't find Rattlesnake there and later got complained about, things would get ssy. But Jimmy could still handle it; it was a problem but not a big one.
This ti, it went very smoothly. Mark and Julia caught Rattlesnake directly in bed because the address given this ti was his real ho location. There was only him and a female friend there. After Mark and Julia showed their credentials, the woman imdiately opened the door, and Rattlesnake was pinned to the bed before he could even run.
Upon receiving Mark's call, Jimmy imdiately phoned Agent Lars to inform her of the good news, so now the kidnapping case could be fully resolved, even the transportation route was entirely swept up.
Agent Lars didn't say much over the phone, only ntioning that she would hurry back to the office. Apparently, she was still unwilling to pause digging into matters behind it earlier.
Finally, the busy days were over. Truth be told, Jimmy hadn't anticipated that right after his honeymoon, he'd be thrown into back-to-back investigations. Fortunately, he was quick-witted; if he'd hesitated when he noticed Julia was not at work, it would have been an embarrassnt. From this angle, the results were decent; the only pity was not being able to delve deeper.
Jimmy contacted the psychologist Mary, confird her availability for appointnts, and only then arranged for Julia to receive psychological counseling. How many sessions would be needed would depend on feedback from Dr. Mary.
After Julia left the office to see Mary, Mark couldn't remain idle either; he had to cooperate with Jimmy to write the case report. Of course, most of it was on Jimmy's side, since he had handled several critical points consecutively, including saving Julia on the ship and taking down four gang mbers, which took considerable ti to report.
Finally, it was the weekend, and Jimmy could finally rest. He changed into casual clothing and headed to the church.
This ti, it wasn't just for prayer; it was more of a courtesy to et with Priest Rodney. After all, they had allowed him to use St. Andrew's Church for the wedding ceremony, and the Church had indeed given him face.
In a previous chat with Nia, she had ntioned that after the wedding, Kevin had received several invitations from powerful figures, attending gatherings that seed aningless. To people of a certain echelon, achieving this level ant that Kevin implicitly had the Church's backing.
After greeting Priest Rodney, Jimmy sat on the pew, clasping his hands in a praying gesture at his forehead, slightly bowing his head to pray. Since Priest Rodney was standing in front, praying with Jimmy, he persisted for a long ti. Only after Rodney finished praying did Jimmy put down his hands, get up, and follow Priest Rodney to the backroom for a chat.
Priest Rodney was familiar to Jimmy, and they chatted lightly. Yet, the topic always drifted to Jimmy already being married and when he planned on having kids.
This made Jimmy quite uncomfortable. His previous suspicions were indeed correct. These shaless old priests, uninterested in Jimmy, who was already over thirty, were now setting their sights on his next generation.
Jimmy felt resigned; the racial purity theories in the West were always very prevalent. For them, Jimmy's ability to wholly embrace the Holy Light surely ant it would pass down to his children. The Yang Family had already been marked by them, bound to the Church as a mighty tree, intending to cultivate Jimmy's children from a young age, who might beco prominent figures of the Church in the future.
