Jimmy is now lying on his side on the ground, awkwardly reaching out to shoot, completely losing hope for accuracy. It's impossible for him to control the recoil of the gun in this position, but at least the direction is roughly correct.
Jimmy fired a few shots, and Daniel, along with another man, bent down to hide to the side, finally giving Jimmy a chance to get up.
The opportunity was fleeting. Just as Jimmy got up, Daniel was about to rise from behind cover. Jimmy imdiately aid at his position and fired as he just appeared.
This ti, there was no mistake. Jimmy shot Daniel in the head, causing him to fall backward. His finger reflexively pulled the trigger, and the bullets kept firing randomly due to a lack of control.
"FBI, drop your gun." Mark's voice ca from the other side. The second man raised his hand to shoot at Mark's position. Jimmy couldn't hit him from behind cover, and could only watch as Mark dodged and suppressed him with return fire.
Jimmy imdiately got up and moved sideways a bit. When he could finally see the shooter, he fired two shots at the man's torso, causing him to collapse and cease shooting.
"Cease fire! Cease fire!" Jimmy shouted twice. Once the gunfire from the other side stopped, he pressed his radio, "Both shooters are down, approach with caution."
Mark and Julia slowly approached with their guns drawn. As they got closer, Jimmy shouted, "How are you? Any injuries?"
Mark: "No."
Jimmy: "Cuff him, Julia, call for an ambulance. I'm going to check on the others."
Jimmy holstered his gun and stood up, turning to run towards the people lying on the ground.
The response from the NYPD and ambulance was swift, especially since the dispatch center knew there was a mass shooting here. Ambulances arrived as if they cost nothing.
Julia was registering people remaining around the amusent park for basic questioning, while Mark loaded the bodies of the two suspects onto the ambulance for delivery to the forensic doctor's office morgue. The rest depended on the forensic doctor's report.
Mark: "Sorry, one of the two bullets hit his heart. He didn't make it, and the paradics declared him dead at the scene."
Jimmy nodded: "Verify his identity and gather all his information."
Mark: "Understood." He glanced at the injured being loaded into the ambulance and slamd his fist onto nearby amusent equipnt. "Why?"
Jimmy turned to look at him, "Maybe just anti-social elents, we'll find out when we investigate back at the office. Let's go, help Julia finish the registration quickly."
Mark went over to Julia, while Jimmy approached the forensics team. "Hey, guys, get their guns to the lab quickly. We've already inford them, and they'll arrange for ballistic matching as soon as possible."
The forensics team nodded in confirmation, still at the scene drawing lines and placing tags. With the four shooters having fired dozens of shots, finding the bullet holes alone was a huge hassle and would take considerable ti.
Once Jimmy and the team finished registering, they drove back to the office, where Ruiz was already waiting for them.
Ruiz: "Jimmy, all taken care of?"
Jimmy: "Yeah, one of the suspects in the park shooting, Daniel Brown, was shot dead on the scene. The identity of the other dead accomplice is still unknown. We'll submit the report once it's confird."
Ruiz: "Were there only the two of them?"
Jimmy: "It seems so for now, but I can't be sure if there's anyone else behind them."
Ruiz: "Handle it quickly, there's a lot of pressure from above. The mayor's office has already called, given two mass shootings in different areas over consecutive days."
Jimmy nodded: "I understand, I'll handle it."
Ruiz nodded slightly and turned to leave the Homicide Team office. He had no choice; with another mass shooting reported to the dispatch center, those above were losing it.
One incident could be tolerated, but the NYPD didn't solve it in ti and handed it to the FBI, resulting in another incident during the FBI's handling process, both occurring in Brooklyn. The news couldn't be contained.
