Elizabeth raised her glass to thank Jimmy for saving her and Peter, which was for the previous case where Peter and Elizabeth were kidnapped. After that case ended, Jimmy hadn't seen Elizabeth again, and this gathering was just the right opportunity for her to thank him.
During dinner, they didn't talk much. Afterward, Jimmy and Peter, holding their glasses, went to the small balcony at the back door.
Peter looked at the small garden in front of them and suddenly asked, "Last ti we were kidnapped, you must've spent quite a bit of money, right?"
Jimmy held his glass and turned to look at Peter. Peter didn't look at Jimmy; he was still staring at the small garden, "Well, finding you guys in a short ti required so investnt. But it's okay, it's all in the past now."
Peter: "In any case, thank you for everything. And one more thing, my transfer to DC was pre-arranged."
Jimmy: "I could guess that."
Peter: "As part of the exchange, I can take soone with . Are you interested?"
Jimmy looked at Peter. He couldn't possibly be unaware of the reason for this transfer to DC, so why take him along? Their personalities were entirely incompatible; one was a good guy and the other a butcher, a complete mismatch. Besides, if anyone had to go, Jones and Diana were both excellent choices.
Jimmy: "Why not take Jones and Diana with you?"
Peter: "Diana is pregnant, and she has already worked in DC for a while before being reassigned to Manhattan. As for Jones, I haven't decided yet."
Jimmy: "By the way, how's Mahong doing these days?"
Peter turned to glance at Jimmy, understood his attitude, and after taking a sip of wine, said, "Mahong is quite good. Although not very familiar with financial cris and art cris, he's adapting quickly."
Jimmy: "Do you want to leave Jones for Mahong?"
Peter: "Yes, I'm considering that. The whole team can't leave. Jones is the best assistant. He's been with all these years; I know him well. He's capable and may be the best candidate for the next team leader."
Jimmy: "Then just let things run their course. Besides, you're not going away to DC forever. You're likely getting promoted to ASAC this ti round, right? Maybe when you return to Manhattan, you'll be an SAC."
Peter smiled, raised his glass, and clinked it with Jimmy's, "Hopefully. He turned his head to look through the window at Elizabeth inside the house, who was chatting on the sofa with Nia. "It's just that I feel a bit sorry for Elizabeth. Leaving New York this ti will cost her a lot of business."
Jimmy: "Maybe it's an opportunity. While Washington, D.C., isn't as bustling as New York, it has more political activities. Perhaps Elizabeth can explore new fields there. It doesn't necessarily have to be a bad thing."
Peter also laughed. Since it was already a settled fact, everything naturally needed to look forward. Being able to retreat unscathed, and even getting a promotion after moving to Washington, D.C., the reasons and processes beca clear over these days, leading to the best possible outco.
Peter: "If you have ti, please ntion to Mahong that Neil Cavrey isn't that easy to work with; be cautious, especially regarding those friends of his who aren't convenient to show up in front of us. I think he should be able to solve these issues, but not sure if he'll suffer a bit."
Jimmy: "Sure, I will. I'll thank you on his behalf. Before you leave, is there anything left to handle?"
Peter: "Not much. Elizabeth needs to wrap up things with her company, the house is already listed with an agency, and then it's just waiting to leave for DC when the ti cos."
Jimmy: "Have you bid farewell to Hughes and the others?"
Peter: "Yes, don't worry, I'll take care of it. Let's go back inside."
-----------------
Jimmy and Nia returned to the apartnt. While taking off her coat, Nia said, "Was Peter saying goodbye?"
Jimmy: "Yes, this ti leaving New York, it seems he won't be able to co back for a long ti."
Nia: "Is it still the aftermath of that previous matter? That Senator."
Jimmy took off his suit and sat on the sofa, "Yes, that issue had quite an impact. There have been major personnel changes in the Manhattan office."
Nia: "Is your return to fieldwork related to this matter as well?"
Jimmy: "Yes, it's sowhat related, but not much to do with . Peter is directly involved. The outco he achieved was already very hard to co by."
Nia: "What about you? Would you leave the Manhattan office and go to other branches?"
Jimmy: "At least not temporarily. The Manhattan office has gone through so many upheavals, they won't be ssing with us any more in the short term. Don't worry, although there's office politics everywhere, it also requires so compromise."
Nia: "That's good. I wouldn't know what to do if you moved to another branch. I'm not like Elizabeth who can just start a company, and NYPD wouldn't just let leave anyti."
Jimmy: "Rest assured, even if I have to move, it's not like I'll take all of you with . Peter's case is special; he made a mistake. This ti going to DC seems like a promotion, but his next posting might not be as good."
Nia: "Got it, I'm going to take a shower."
Nia left the living room, while Jimmy recalled what Peter said. It seed he couldn't shake off concern for Neil Cavrey. Ostensibly, it's to better utilize Neil in assisting Mahong with cases, but it's also highlighting Neil's value, making Mahong likely not too hard on him when he bends the rules.
Oh, this pair of treasures, have they ever thought that all their suffering now is because of their relationship?

The next day, Jimmy returned to the office. At noon, he received a call from the forensic doctor's office. The DNA matching was completed, but it was very bad news; none of the three bodies were related to Mrs. lissa.
Jimmy hung up the phone and sat in his chair, his expression not looking good.
Could it be that the lissa found by Louis is fake?
Jimmy took out the information previously retrieved from Ruiz and started looking through the docunt Louis had given him again.
This is a very traditional Mafia; he has many suspected criminal records but no actual evidence, hence he's never been arrested. Would soone like him use such an obvious trick to fool an FBI agent? He shouldn't be that foolish.
Jimmy got up to the fax machine to get the report sent by the forensic doctor's office. He carefully reviewed it, photocopied the conclusion page, and then left the office.
Jimmy directly knocked on Louis' door. The woman he had seen before opened the door, Jimmy: "I'm looking for Louis; I know he is ho."
The woman turned to glance at Louis in the living room, he nodded, she opened the door.
Jimmy: "Where is Mrs. lissa?"
Louis: "She went back to wait for news and to prepare for Marco's funeral. What's wrong?"
Jimmy: "Are you sure about her identity?"
Louis: "Of course. Is there a problem?"
Jimmy: "None of the three bodies match her DNA. I think you know what that ans. Now, tell , is the person you found real? Or, tell , where is Marco?"
Louis widened his eyes, "Are you sure?"
Jimmy: "This is science; Mrs. lissa does not match with any of the three bodies."
Louis squinted his eyes, looking at Jimmy, he said: "I understand, sorry, I wasn't aware of this situation, but I'll get to the bottom of it. Now, I need to head out."
Jimmy nodded: "You have my number, I'll wait for your news. Louis, for God's sake, don't embarrass ."
Louis gestured to the door: "Please."
Jimmy got up and left, Louis whispered a few words to the woman and left the room as well. Jimmy sat in his car watching from a distance as Louis got into another car and drove off, and he followed behind.
