The issue with the tenant Marco was set aside for the ti being. David went straight back to the office because the anti-cri unit's materials were overwhelming, and he didn't have much ti to waste.

However, before leaving, David still smoked a cigarette on the roadside with Jimmy, "I really didn't expect your na to be so well-known, Jimmy."

Jimmy smoked while looking around. They were in Harlem, not Federal Square, and if he wasn't careful, trouble might find them.

Jimmy: "Not really. There was a bit of an issue before. Soone carelessly leaked my information."

David turned to look at Jimmy: "What happened? Your information? What information?"

Jimmy: "Not sure yet. It's just a rumor for now, and I haven't confird how much has been leaked."

David: "Is it the cases you handled?"

Jimmy: "It's possible. Soone recognized earlier, so I was just testing the waters."

David: "I think they might have picked the wrong person; you should be in the anti-cri unit."

Jimmy: "I stayed in the anti-cri unit for a while. I was an intern agent then, quite a long ti ago. Alright, you go back first. I'll look around so more. Oh, and when you get back, can you ask them how the surveillance investigation is going?"

David nodded, stubbed out his cigarette on the trash can, and threw it in, "I'm off, bye."

Jimmy watched David start the car and leave. He didn't leave imdiately but turned to glance at the apartnts, making sure no one was snooping around before getting in his car.

The new car was equipped with covert police lights, and the license plate wasn't disguised, but it was a Federation Governnt plate, which wouldn't be rembered suspiciously.

Jimmy didn't return to the office with David because Hughes had called earlier, invited him to lunch, and with an hour left, it wasn't worth going back to the office. Jimmy drove straight out of Harlem towards a restaurant in the Lower District.

At the agreed restaurant, Jimmy arrived a bit early, gave Hughes' na, and the waiter led him to the reserved seat. Soon, Hughes arrived.

Hughes sat beside Jimmy, "Let's wait a bit, Dave will be here shortly."

Jimmy: "Alright. Hughes, what's the matter today?"

Hughes: "Let Dave tell you in a bit." ᴛʜɪs ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ɪs ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ʙʏ NoveIꜰire

A few minutes later, Dave walked over from the restaurant entrance, greeted Hughes and Jimmy, then sat down and began to order food.

After ordering, Dave looked up at Jimmy, "How does it feel to be back in the field?"

Jimmy smiled, "Pretty good. I prefer working on the front line. Thanks, Dave."

Dave nodded, looked at Hughes, who shook his head. Dave looked back at Jimmy, "Jimmy, I hear from Hughes that you can handle so special cases?"

Jimmy glanced at Hughes, who nodded. Jimmy understood what Dave was referring to and looked around, seeing no one at the nearby table, "A little. Priest Horton from Dallas did an exorcism for , suggesting that I might have co into contact with sothing unclean, giving a slight special ability to see so dirty things."

This was sothing Jimmy had previously told Hughes, and it was confird by Lambert from the Dallas office and Priest Horton, which provided real support for Jimmy's special ability.

Dave looked at Jimmy and slowly nodded, "Does anyone else know?"

Jimmy: "No, I don't want to be seen as a freak. Besides Priest Horton and Lambert, it's just you guys who know."

Dave raised his eyebrow; as it stands, Jimmy was already seen as a freak. Who else had his kind of combat ability? It was said Jimmy could shoot blindfolded at the firing range, with a high hit rate, and such muscle mory far exceeded the average agent.

Dave: "I understand. Prepare yourself. In a few days, there will be an advanced agent training program, but the curriculum is limited to law and psychology. I rember you only have an associate's degree, so whether you can enroll depends on your own consideration."

Jimmy: "Thanks, Dave. Is there a designated school?"

Dave: "New York State University and New York University."

Jimmy: "Understood, I'll handle it, thank you."

Dave: "Alright, let's eat. Hughes, how's retirent life?"

-----------------

Jimmy, Hughes, and Dave had lunch together and left together to return to the Federation Square office.

Dave was reliable. Still, it was probably Hughes who asked about it; otherwise, Jimmy couldn't believe this big guy would proactively inform him of such an in-office training program.

It was also good news. Jimmy had previously reached out to a mber of the board of directors at the New York University Alliance with Kevin's help. Many conditions had already been confird, needing additional policy support from the office.

Now the conditions were in place, so what remained was to push this matter forward.

The associate degree he had was still lacking. There's a degree requirent for FBI promotions.

Previously, because the cases Jimmy handled were significant, and he had many rits, he was promoted from an ordinary agent to a senior agent. The next step to Supervisory Special Agent was very tough, requiring a bachelor's degree, which he was still far from having.

This wasn't a big issue for other agents because the FBI Quantico Academy's admission standard was a bachelor's degree, with capabilities in law, accounting, linguistics, or other specified fields.

If it wasn't for the 9/11 event, which caused the FBI to need more personnel, leading to an extra internal referral hiring besides the annual recruitnt, Jimmy wouldn't have qualified to join the FBI. What Jimmy knew was that his application was submitted through the Little Rock office with a personal recomndation from Supervisor Pete, which was one of the reasons he was able to get admitted.
